☯⚝ϟ Puck stared at the hand curled into her own wondering when it had gotten so big. When her big eared baby had grown into a bigger eared adult. She head his words trying to assuage her but she knew that was more for her sake than his; maybe they hadn't been total abusive assholes but they let their kid think his feelings didn't matter. To her that was just about the same. She listened as he tried to explain how and if he wanted to do this supposed conversation and wondered not for the first time just how long Lewis had been thinking and internalizing all of this. This went way beyond simple crushes and it killed her that she couldn't pinpoint the exact moment it happened. She couldn't even hold back her wince when he mentioned he didn't feel like trying with Dris again, especially if he wasn't going to take it seriously. "Understandable." she noted still giving him the chance to talk it all out.
Puck sighed deeper hearing her son speak about how he had expected everything to go down only for the near opposite to happen and had her fingers gently caress his hand unconsciously. "That's valid. I can't speak for your dad but I don't see Su as more of an adult than you. If anything, I almost want to coddle them more from the bits I've learned about their childhood." And woe be onto the day that Magdalena Puck Abrams Giese-Dunbar saw the Afolayans with minimal witnesses because that would be day they discover that hellfire was actually a simple summer burn. "It's not that you're too young, it's more that we just weren't prepared for it. Ah, I know," Puck held up a hand to stop any complaints, "not a good excuse or even a decent reason. But feelings are messy and they just keep getting messier the older you get. Sorry 'bout that by the way." she tossed her son a wry grin at that.
"I know I don't really have the rights to, but if you did want to try again, with or without your dad, I'm here. I'm willing to listen and understand. And I may or may not have made a pot of the special Sad Feelings hot chocolate. That last part isn't a bribe, you're free to have some, serious conversation non-withstanding." She raised her hand again to this time gently swipe her thumb against his cheeks. When had her baby gotten so old?

Man, it had been a long time since he'd just... held hands with mum. When he was little, she and dad were his favorite people in the world. Honestly, he still looked up to them (though that was more in the figurative sense, given he'd surpassed mum in height ages ago), though it was in a different sort of way. After he tried to explain his worry about talking things out with dad, she simply said it was understandable. Honestly, it hurt Lewis' heart to fight. Even as a kid, he would feel guilty when bickering with cousins... or Rosa and Wen, when they were old enough. Something about anger just upset his little mental ecosystem.
After explaining that it felt like his parents considered Su more of an adult than him, Mum was quick to say she almost wanted to coddle the other teen more. That, he knew from experience, was also likely true. Mum got really heated when learning about the Afolayan family. "Glad you weren't there for the fight. I feel like it'd've gotten physical if you were." He chuckled nervously, but gave the woman's hands a small squeeze with his long fingers. He listened as she continued, explaining that it wasn't about him being too young, but them being ill prepared. Before he could do more than frown, she said it wasn't a good reason. "Yea, don't worry. I've noticed." His moods were swayed by hormones and he just had to be along for the ride.
Lewis sighed softly when Mum continued, now saying that she was willing to listen and understand. She'd even made Sad Feelings Hot Chocolate. He closed his eyes as she swiped his cheeks, before he shifted and pulled her into a hug. "I think that's a good idea. And maybe we should share with dad, too. I probably oughta apologize anyhow. Plus if you're there, I feel like it'll actually get taken serious." He sighed, remembering back to the several times Sad Feelings Days would end here. With him hugging mum or dad while the other made up a pot of cocoa. Even though it meant a sad time, it would forever be one of his favorite things. "D'you wanna get him while I get down the cocoa mugs? I'm not sure how he'll react to just me... p-plus the mugs are on the top shelf, 'cause Wen kept accidentally breaking them when he'd try to use them for... whatever it was he used them for."

☯⚝ϟ Puck snorted as Lewis commented that it'd had been a good thing she hadn't been present when the elder Afolayans had visited. "'Physical' implies there would've been evidence left to find." she replied baldly and grinned with far too much teeth. She'd never actually do anything though; not if Su could find out about it. It'd break their poor sensitive heart which is the last thing she wanted. She was startled out of her thoughts for revenge when her son suddenly pulled her into a hug which she eagerly reciprocated. When he also mentioned including Dris into their conversation, she was overcome with pride that he was willing to take the higher rode and sadness that he felt like he had to. "If that's what you want, we can totally make that happen. And if needed, I can keep your dad in line." And she would. Puck didn't think it would be necessary after the cooldown, she was willing to bet that he was a puddle of nerves and guilt that she was going to have to mop up since she needed him present.
She couldn't control the bark of laughter that escaped as Lewis cautiously offered to grab the mugs as they were put out of place from Wen. "Probably during his climbing phase. I've caught him on all sorts of stuff while you've been away at school." she chuckled some thinking about it. She scooted into standing up from the bed and made sure to turn back and press a kiss on the crown of Lewis' curly head. "Set us up at the dining table, and we'll meet you in there in a bit. Love you Lew." Puck also ruffled the hair she had just kissed before leaving out of her son's bedroom. She only gave herself a few seconds to compose herself before she went into her own bedroom and stared down Dris. "So. That happened."
It's such a gorgeous sight To see you in the middle of the night You can never get enough Enough of this stuff It's Friday I'm in love
Lewis laughed when his mum said there would've been no evidence left behind. What a perfectly Mum thing to say. She would be more like a.... rabid raccoon trapped in a trash bin. "Ah yes, of course. You'd have had Dad take Su to the other room, then we'd have rolled up our sleeves." He nodded. His anger that day was... absurd. It had been a long time since he'd felt that way. In fact, he was still in primary last time. Someone was picking on Rosa, so he'd punched them, then got sent to the headmaster's office to get scolded. Thankfully, his parents were proud of him.
Then came the moment where Lewis had to decide if he wanted to try the conversation again. Though, true to his nature, he did indeed. He love his parents with all his heart, and he figured that wouldn't change anytime soon. She said she'd keep dad in line, earning a weak chuckle from the teen. What if things ended up going sour again? It would only result in more fighting, followed by more guilt. He simply hated arguing. But then the conversation shifted to Wen, and that caused Mum to laugh. "He's a menace, I swear! I caught him half-way atop the fridge a few days ago. Apparently Dad hid cookies up in the cabinet up there. So naturally we stole them." But then Mum stood up and put a little kiss on his head, before telling him to set up at the table. 'Can do, mum."
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
Dris was... waiting anxiously. Their talk seemed to be taking forever, during which he was just... wallowing in guilt. He knew something he'd said had caused their conversation to escalate, but he couldn't figure out where it had been! Lewis had asked about romance or something, he'd teased his son... boom. fight. But they always teased one another! So did Milo, Loki, Cyd.... heck, just about every member of the family, save a few less joking sorts. Besides, Lewis wasn't graduated yet, so there really wasn't much need for romance conversations yet. He had plenty of time to find romance after he finished school.
When he heard the door open, Dris looked up, sighing softly when he saw his wife. "It happened so fast, too! One minute we were joking off, then he was shouting at me!" He shook his head, debating on noting Lewis' implication that they weren't good parents. It was just... it was unfair!

☯⚝ϟ Puck couldn't stop her eyes from rolling but just sighed seeing how Dris could think that from hearing how tightly wound Lewis has been. "I think you certainly thought you both were joking but Lewis definitely didn't. He is really, really, hurt Dris, and he's apparently been this way for a while. And we've missed it!" She let out a whooshing exhale as she ran a hand through her messy curls. "He thinks we baby him while also putting so much responsibility on him at the same time. I don't think he thinks we even view him as his own person. Do you know how badly we have to ******** up for him to think that?!" she asked, her voice wavering towards the end. She barely kept her composure in front of her son and it was hanging on a tether now.
Taking a few more deep breaths, Puck flopped onto the bed to try and center herself. "He's giving us, most importantly you, another chance at this and we're going to take it. But before we do that, I really need to ask, what did he even try to talk to you about?"
It's such a gorgeous sight To see you in the middle of the night You can never get enough Enough of this stuff It's Friday I'm in love
As Puck rolled her eyes, Dris simply sighed. Was she about to rip him to shreds or complain about teenagers? He mentioned joking around, but was sharply told that only he had been joking. She added that he was hurt and worse... he'd been feeling that way for a while. How had they missed that? Was it because Lewis always just seemed so happy-go-lucky? Other than the explosion a few weeks ago, he'd never seemed troubled at all. Then she continued, saying he thought he was being both babied and stacked upon with pressure, plus that he didn't think they saw him as a person.
Dris sighed as well, not really realizing just how stressed he'd been. "Well, I.... okay. I can get being stressed and all, but we don't pressure him that much, do we? W-we don't mind grades as long as he tries, don't make him have a job to pay rent... none of that. He's pretty much free to do whatever. Heck, I feel like we're doing pretty alright... aren't we?" How had they never been given this information before? How had they entirely missed these emotions? And hell, Dris had been pretty confident their family had been super emotionally open, so why was this just coming up now?
When Puck flopped back, Dris did the same, using one hand to hold hers. He clicked his tongue when she said that Lewis was giving him another chance. He still didn't know what he'd done wrong, apart from playful teasing! But dammit, if his wife said their son was stressed on this, he'd believe her. Besides, Lewis' previous blowup... plus today's.... well, they were well outside his norm. "Oh, well. He said it was relationship stuff. And if Rosie-Posie's telling true, he's apparently got his eyes on multiple people. I'd assume it's either that or he's going to come out, maybe. But he knows we'd for sure accept any orientation.... right? Like. He has to know that." After all, he had two sets of gay grandparents and multiple other gender or sexuality divergent cousins.
Glancing over at his wife, Dris sighed. "We should probably go talk to him. Longer we wait, more he's probably gonna think we're conspiring. And don't worry, I'll be perfectly serious. He's our son and if this is important, we need to treat it as such." He sighed again, running his long fingers through his messy hair. "Maybe I can make him some hot cocoa. It used to work for him, so it surely can't hurt the conversation. Man, when did our little baby turn into a young adult?" Dris looked over at his wife, offering a loving smooch before he sat up, then stood and offered his hands to help her up as well. They could totally handle whatever relationship drama their teen could throw at them....
....probably.

☯⚝ϟ Puck just hmm'd as Dris detailed all the ways they tried to not force more on Lewis as parents; only allowing him to help or take charge when they felt he wanted to. But now after everything she'd just learned, she wasn't so sure. "Maybe he thinks we never pushed because we thought he couldn't do it. Our brains tell us dumb s**t like that on our best days. Don't you remember your brain at his age and how easy it was to assume the worst about everything?" Normally she'd be trying to regulate the cursing even around her husband to keep it at a minimum for the kids, but today kinda blew all that s**t out the window. She just sighed again and made room for Dris to flop onto the bed with her curling her fingers between his own.
Puck listened to her husband's explanation mentally cross referencing it with Lewis' and found herself rubbing her eyes as it went on. "I doubt it was the sexuality thing it was more the 'you took his little sister's words more serious than his own.' Which, by the way, we may need to have a sit down with Rosie and the other school gremlins about reporting back to us. It was kinda funny and adorable as first years, but they're thirteen now. From what we're seeing with him right now, Lewis may not have it in him to keep forgiving them-and us-if we keep violating his privacy." That was a conversation she was wholeheartedly not looking forward to. Rosa may look more like her, but she tended to be Dris' near spitting image as far as personality so she had very little chance of this not ending semi-badly.
As she mused silently, Dris mentioned they should go and meet with Lewis before he got even more anxious than he already was (mercy if he even could!) and that perhaps he should make some cocoa to soften him up. A small, slightly impish, grin spead across her face as she accepted the kiss. "A bit late there love, already made a pot and Lewis should be serving it up right now." Her grin then softened as he made the near exact observation she had just minutes ago and gave his hand a squeeze not releasing it after being pulled from the bed. "Honestly, I have no idea. But he is and we're gonna have to...wade through it best we can. ********, you think our parents dealt with this sorta thing?" Puck didn't even need to hear the answer since she knew it'd be a resounding "yes." Worse, their parents had done it multiple times and now they were doomed to do the same with the two youngers. Time was a b***h and a half.
She walked out the bedroom with Dris going to the dining table already expecting Lewis to be waiting for them and stood there slightly awkwardly. "Ok! Serious conversation round two, no kid gloves, no below the belts. Open and honest dialogue only." Puck made sure to look at both of them as she said this, finding it wild that she was essentially making herself the mediator. Her mums were going to have a field day with this.

Dris frowned when Puck said that Lewis was upset that they weren't pushing him. He sighed softly, wishing that he knew what to do. Apparently if they asked too much they were jerks, but it was the same if they asked too little. And then she asked him to remember his own brain at Lewis' age. He laughed at that, glancing over at his wife. "Yea. My brain was a jerk. Man, I can't believe I didn't think back to that. I guess I sorta... forgot. I was an anxious, insecure mess when I was his age and I think I always figured he was better than I had been."
After explaining what all had happened, Puck (correctly) noted that it was less about Lewis' sexuality and more about Dris believing Rosa's gossip over his own words. She went off saying that they needed to talk to the kids about just that anyway. "Talk about a stressful conversation. Rosa took so much after my half of the family. Gossip is dang near a currency with them." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I guess I should've asked first, right? Heck, even though Rosa's honest and has no filter, doesn't mean she didn't make things up or... or even get thirdhand gossip." Having a potentially messy conversation with the younger teens could turn out chaotic, but if it could spare themselves, or even the preteens going in soon... it'd be worth it.
Dris spoke again, saying he'd make cocoa, but of course, his lovely wife had beaten him there too. He squeezed her hand, glad to get one from her as well. His question resulted in an honest, though less than helpful reply. "Our parents dealt with us falling head over heels, then having the world's most dramatic breakup. It was absolutely goofy, if you'll remember. So I guess as long as Lewis isn't as much a mess as we were... I think we've done something right." He laughed softly, sitting up and remembering how absolutely wild their ride had been.
oOoOoOoOo
In the kitchen, Lewis had located the mugs and set out the specific favorites for each of them. He even found some mini marshmallows in one of the cabinets! Once he'd filled all the mugs, he carried them over to the dining table, where he waited for his parents to appear. When they did, mum started it off by saying it was round two. No holds barred, apparently. Lewis let out a slow exhale, then started in. "So I wanted to talk about weird romantic feelings earlier. So let's start there. This is namely about two people. I... guess I've been sorta crushing on them fore a while. And then last year came up feelings for someone else, but I don't feel quite the same with them as I do the others." Dris nodded along, sipping cocoa. He just had to keep things super calm for right now.
"The fun problem is... I still don't know what to do. I.... I don't know if I'm supposed to wait and see if they have feelings or try taking them on dates or... or what! How am I supposed to figure it out? Apparently there's rumors that two of 'em like me back in a romantic sort of way, but... what do I do with that?!" He sighed, plopping his face into his hands. Dris glanced over at his wife for a second, before figuring he'd offer something. "Okay, well. If it's namely about two, does that mean you don't feel the same about the third? A-and, if you're comfortable, names might help to keep things straight. Or we can just call 'em A, B, and C... or something too."
That apparently caused Lewis to stiffen up a bit. "Ah... yea. Umm.... the newest on is Afon. Then there's Sierra. And the last one is..... Su."

☯⚝ϟ Puck blinked as apparently both men took her words to heart and got right to the thick of things. She barely had time to take a seat before Lewis's words began pouring out about him liking two separate people for a while (she was pretty confident she knew about this) but that his current and main cause for concern was this third person. Then came the crux of his issues in that he had no idea what to do with these feelings, as in an action that he can take. Poor kid always was hands on wasn't he. She hummed to let him know she was hearing and understanding and took a sip of her own cocoa as Dris decided to take the first question-very mindful very demure-asking most importantly about how his feelings differ for the third and if they were allowed to know names.
At the teen's reaction, she was about to jump in and say codenames or fake names would be fine but of course, the poor kid jumped into the deep end and named them all. She recognized Sierra from stories from both Lewis and Rosa and the occasional visit, Afon was a name she was definitely not familiar with, and the final name...well. Puck wishes she could say she was surprised. And she really really wished today had gone differently so she could gloat to Dris about how she recognized the heart eyes their kid was tossing towards an oblivious Su and had sooooo called it. But alas, she just took another sip of her cocoa showing no outward sign of surprise other than her raised eyebrows. "Ok. So was Su the third person you were confused about or was it one of the others? What exactly is causing you the most anxiety about all of this, besides of course having the crush in the first place."
Puck could wholeheartedly admit she missed nothing about being a teenager except that her back didn't ache if she didn't sleep without her special pillow and random hormones was the major factor. She could also admit that she could see why Lewis might be feeling confusion regarding Su since the other teen had been staying with them for over 2 years at this point and his parents weren't shy about regarding them as their fourth kid. Accidental baby acquisition turned accidental incest. She'd be an anxious wreck too!

Somewhere in the middle of dumping out his feelings, Lewis had to admit that it felt a little good to share his feelings. It had felt good when he'd spilled his thoughts to Tàmhas too, but this was different. There were a lot of emotions, but both his parents seemed serious... for once. It was weirdly comforting to tell them everything, especially knowing he wouldn't get teased. Dark eyes looked over when mum tried to clarify the timeline, causing the teen to shake his head. "No, no. Su was first. I started crushing on them a few months before they moved in." He sighed, rubbing his temple before continuing. "The next year came feelings for Sierra. They've both been pretty consistent. Afon.... was a surprise to me too. A-and I don't know if it's just because he took Su on a not-date-date-thing or just.... I dunno."
At that admission, Dris set his mug back on the table. "I can see where that can be rough. It's a lot of heavy feelings to juggle about. But... does it just come down to which to pick? It... kinda seems like there's more in there." He tapped his own forehead, offering a soft smile at his son. It was already heavy, but if they finally had some of the issue out, might as well get the rest. Lewis huffed, gaze dropping to the table where his long fingers tapped on the surface. "No... it's like... they're all slightly different, y'know? And I don't know which kind of love is just friendship and which one maybe is all the romantic junk. I don't even know if any of it's romantic junk! Everyone always says they 'just kinda knew'," he added in finger quotes, for emphasis, "But how the heck am I supposed to know? Plus they're all my friends! And what if.... what if trying dates or... or asking the wrong person ruins all the friendships?! I can't just ruin them all!" His voice got a little louder, breaking occasionally as his emotions swirled in a stressful reddish-brown around his vision.

☯⚝ϟ Puck gave Lewis a look and only gave a soft "Oh Lew," as he explained that he had been experiencing his feelings for Su prior to their move in. She couldn't decide if ti was better or worse; garnering a crush after they've moved in or already having these feelings and suddenly now they're with you 24/7. After swirling her cocoa to unclump a few mini marshmallows, she took a sip and listened as her son continued explaining his timeline noting the casual way he dropped Afon's gender and only allowing fleeting eye contact with Dris before refocusing back onto the teen. Dris came in with another serious and straight to the point question which had inwardly beaming with pride at the way both her boys were taking this redo. She didn't want to enact her plan, but she'd had one and it would not have looked very pretty. Puck just continued to nod and listen as Lewis attempted to explain his reasonings and became concerned as he began working himself up into a unfortunately familiar frenzy. She reached over and gently took her son's hand into her own to try and capture his attention
"Hey buddy, let's take some deep breaths real quick ok?" She began doing exaggerated deep breathing so that he could follow and only stopped when she saw he wasn't going to pass out but kept her hand in his. "So let's start with the easiest part of this dilemma in that if you talking to these people and explaining your feelings causes them to toss your friendship aside, then they were never really your friends. But I have a feeling you know this deep deep down. You mentioned that you had ideas or heard that two of them might also return your feelings, so is what you're really afraid of is choosing one and potentially breaking the other's heart?" Puck really didn't want to have to say it that way since it seemed way more dramatic than it was, but she had to remind herself that these were all teenagers. Plus, as Dris had mentioned earlier, she remembers some familiar dramatics in their early relationship.

Even Mum's soft words and Dad's helpful question didn't seem to help the thoughts in his head. Once he started, Lewis couldn't seem to stop the floodgates. Somehow it felt both fantastic and absolutely horrible to tell everything, especially since it'd been tucked way down deep for a while. As the colors started swirling around in his brain, his words spilling out almost as fast as his racing heart. Thankfully, Mum was quick to act, holding his hands and walking him through some deep breaths.
After a moment, his head felt a little clearer, though he did keep holding the hand his mum had offered as a sort of anchor. And then she noted that if this all caused friendships to dissolve, they weren't truly his friends to start. At that, Lewis gave a small nod. Even if they didn't fully leave, he didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. And then came the crux of the matter. If he chose one, it might potentially devastate the other. "I.... don't want to hurt anyone. But I also have no idea if they feel the same! And if I ask one and get denied, then I can't ask the other because then I'm... I'm a creep who just went down the line! But I..."
"But you don't want to have to keep pushing things down either. Which is also very much valid. It's really hard to push all those big feelings down and I'm really sorry you felt you had to do that this whole time. But... I guess.... do you have a... well, not a preference, per se... do... do any of them just feel right?" Dris tried, stumbling over words as he tried carefully not to upset his already on-edge teen. Somehow Puck was way better at these kinds of talks. Lewis let out a groan, before sighing. "That's the problem! They all feel right... but for different reasons, I think. A-and I don't know how to figure out which one's romantic, or... platonic or.... I don't know, maybe just weird teenage feelings!"

Why, oh why, when Lewis and Rosa went to school had MumnDad's first thought been to make Wen go to the dentist? What the heck had he done that the grown ups needed to tag team?! Sure, he hated the dentist and he was sure they were all out for revenge.... but that didn't mean he needed both parents! Usually it was just one or the other, but they both kept sending over that weird, half-worried, half-stressed look that only parents do. But then came the worst news possible. The dentist wanted him to go to an orthodontist for a braces consultation.
The whole week after was mostly just Wen fighting against them, pleading for them to just not schedule, and threatening to run away. Of course, the only places he knew of to run away to were all related to the family... but maybe they'd be cool and understand his issue? Eventually, it was scheduled, though the only day Dad had found with one of the "scared kid friendly" orthodontists anywhere near them was the same day Lewis and Rosa and Su were supposed to come home. Boooooooo.
As the fall passed, Wen continued (unsuccessfully) to try and convince his parents to cancel the appointment. His teeth weren't even that bad! Sure, he could whistle through the gap in the front, but still! He'd complained to just about every family member, with poor Bryn learning the most of the frustrations. It was nice to have a cousin his age, at least. Plus, Bryn was a great listener. And then came the Dreaded Day™. Dad told him to wear something comfy, but then had to try and hide his giggles when Wen walked out of his room wearing a sweater that covered most of his body and also made his hands unusable. Silly conflicting parents.

At the train station, Lewis was pretty surprised that instead of his parents being there, Aunts Lalai and Nani said he and Su needed to make sure they and Rosa got home. Apparently Mum and Dad had been with Wen at the dentist all day. Haha gross. But, Lewis did as requested. Squatting down, he let Rosa up onto his back, apparating with a twist before landing in the apartment. "We're home?" But it was weirdly quiet for a moment before the front door was unlocked and opened. "Hey guys! Oh, I'm sorry we weren't home ahead of you. The appointment ran over a bit." Said Dris, who was holding a very tired, yet somehow grumpy looking Wen. The preteen was 98% sweater, though, and looked like he didn't want to be bothered from his perch in Dad's arms.
"Yea, Aunt Lils mentioned that. Apparently it was a super fun dentist appointment?" Lewis leaned down, allowing Rosa to climb off her perch as a backpack so he could stretch his arms. "It was(h) s(h)o mush worthe...." Wen grumbled through what sounded like a lot of spit. Gross. Even Dad was trying his best not to pull a face, even though he was, most likely, covered in drool from the sleepy blonde. Lewis sent a look over to Su first, then over at mum, secretly glad they'd missed what sounded like a horrible afternoon.
Butterfly, butterfly, where you gonna go tonight? Wish I was just like you, maybe then you'll take me high Away from it all again Away from my troubles and my sins Away from the fears inside Away from the tears I try to hide away
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ Su was as confused as the Abrams siblings when they were greeted by their aunts who then informed them of the change of plans. They felt for poor Wen knowing only second hand his extreme hatred of the dentist but also for his equally struggling parents for the exact same reason. Following closely behind Lewis' apparition, it was a bit disconcerting how quiet the apartment was without the other members but this was quickly remedied by the arrival of Dris and Puck with a sleepy droopy Wendel. “Aw, he's turning into a puddle." Su cooed looking at the mountain of sweater hanging off of his father while Rosa immediately went over to her brother with overt sisterly concern. "Oh buddy, what'd they do to you?!" the teen girl softly pet Wen's head making sure to avoid his face since she was sure it was sore from the appointment.
"Honestly a better questions would almost be 'what didn't happen." Puck huffed following inside her husband carrying Wen's backpack as well as the dental bag containing all the necessary information and items to care for the new metalware. It literally seemed as though every bad eventuality regarding getting braces had happened, and of course it would be for the one kid who absolutely hated everything teeth related. If she was completely sure he'd keep it in when he was supposed to, Puck would've actually folded for a retainer but as much as it sucks, this was the unfortunate best decision. At least that's what she's going to be telling herself until the younglings were asleep and she could drink her wine in peace. She gave a commiserating sigh seeing Wen so out of it and lightly wiped at his drool with an already damp tissue from the trip over. "We're happy you kids are home though! One of us definitely more than others." the mom said with a pointed look between her two sons.
'Cause I just want to make you smile, but I know that'll take a while 'cause I'm I'm tryin' to find myself I just want to make you proud, but I think that I'm runnin' out of time To figure it out

Wen was still really grumpy that he was in this mess to begin with. Sure, he was currently more worried about fighting the sleepies, but that didn't help the ache in his whole face! He blinked his sleepy blue eyes as mumndad spoke to the older kids, making a face toward Su, who claimed he was becoming a puddle. He lifted an arm to offer waves, though they were only halfway along the sleeves. Darn Lewis and his super long arms! Rosa was next to question the situation, asking what they'd done! "They took me to the s(h)uuuuper dentis(h)t." He whined before wiping off some of his spittle on Dad's sleeve. Thankfully, he didn't notice Dad's look of ick.
He looked over as Mum said the better question would have almost been what didn't happen, which Wen was certain had to do with his attempts to flee... probably. "Yea. It was not a fun afternoon, but now everyone's home! And... we're all on a braces-safe diet for a bit. I think Uncle Kalin said he was going to drop off some soft foods for dinner, because Wen's cheeks probably hurt." Dris said as the youngest of the family nodded slowly. "Plus they had to keep giving him meds because he kept trying to bite the very kind, very... non-litigious orthodontist." At that, he added a small chuckle. The woman had definitely gotten annoyed by the third or fourth attempt, when they just decided to put him under and prop his mouth open the rest of the go. Poor kid.
After Mum wiped his face, Dad carefully set Wen down, though he was a bit wobbly on his feet. The blonde pulled the sweater up to try and hide his face a bit as Lewis crouched down, about a mile difference between standing and not. "Hey, little brother. I've been wondering where my sweater went. I thought it was stolen by..." he paused, looking over at Rosa and Su before whispering conspiratorially, "One of those two thieves." Well, at least it made Wen giggle a bit. Lewis ruffled the familiar mop of tawny hair as Wen let down his guard a bit. "It was(th) me thish time." he grinned, accidentally showing glints of steel and the bright blue bands he'd requested. "Nah, he's missed all three of you. We all have! And I would give hugs but uh..." He glanced down at his sweater, which was very damp. "Aw, heck with it. I missed my kids." Dris said, wiggling out of his sweater before it was draped over a chair. He carefully stepped around Wen, who'd decided that Lewis was good to lean against (and he couldn't help but notice the older teen had his arms wrapped around his brother's waist either!) and pulled Rosa and Su into a hug.
