Insidious was swift making his way between the balam and ??? Much like the last two Victor with the help of another balam's efforts the mysterious ??? was captured. Victor had promised no harm would come to them and none had. Calmly dusk glanced around at the faces of the balam with them. Many of the others had been ready to pounce themselves to help however, the red and creme wind seemed nervous being unable to move around much like a wind does. It seemed this Wind didn't like confined spaces but at the same time she was filled with a wonder of this place Dusk noted. There was a wotter too, Dusk's attention shifted to Moonshine's small companion. They'd been relatively common place among the water tribe. She'd only ever really seen them sleeping thanks to her n It was her job not to be nervous in such situations, she'd been trained for it after all by magus Stillwater.
Impartial Dusk continued to scribble down the description of the tower's floors. The floors were very similar but had some notable differences. Insidious's voice once again rose above the lot pulling her attention back to him. Dusk remained at the back of the group. She moved forward as the rest did. She carefully mined her paws as they ascended the vines of the large tree. Dusk's sharp ears were alert to the sounds around her. This place was quite something.
Dusk easily hopped over the gap to the other side using her wings to stabilize her. She reigned in her wings back at her side. A loud crack upon their entering the next floor broke the eerie silence as something seemed to wake.
The white nan was beginning to see a pattern. Shira's ears pressed against her skull as she looked on, glumly taking in the results of their newest ambush. Yet again, their benefactor kept his promise, and no one seemed to be worse the wear for the surprise. Even their guide jumped into the action. Shira envied his reflexes. But then, he seemed to have some idea of what was going on here, didn't he? More so than the rest of them. So it would make sense that he was quicker to respond.
It certainly raised some questions, though. Why gather such a large group, if one magus was enough to keep them all safe? Was the only purpose of the excess - she, along with all those outside of their raven-pelted guide - to trail behind and tame these wayward spirits? As if that wasn't bad enough, what had those who stayed behind here so agitated, anyway?
She trotted closer, skirting haphazard gaps on velvet paws. Shira didn't dare break into anything quite like a run - not when the residents of this tree were so testy. But she did try to get closer to Insidious, perhaps to pick his mind on the strange circumstances that had brought them all here. It went without saying that he, and their magus benefactor, knew more about the tower than they were letting on. Though of course - as the piercing crack echoed around the room - snowy shoulders tensed, hunching into a crouch. Bright eyes raking the dark, the nan began to wonder if she would have time to do even that.
Another creature attacked and another of their companions stayed behind to subdue it. Oracle continued on with the rest of the group, her body relaxed, though she wondered if there was a grander design in this. Perhaps the creatures that attacked the group were working under another, who might be stronger, even. Perhaps her little group was being picked off one by one to weaken the group as they made their way forward. She wasn't certain to what ends they were meant to still be helping these strangers, but a firm shake of her pelt had her pressing on, ready to do her part, no matter what that part might be.
So, on the group tread and she raised her head abruptly, lips drawn back in the readying of a snarl at an ominous crack. Would she be called upon next to fight the next foe?
(I'm just gonna roll this one, but assume that Moon Shine offered to help anyone across that gap they experienced because she's sweet like that. Brain is totally dead right now)
The situation repeated itself, leaving another strange attacker subdued and guarded by one of their own. Though none of their number had yet been harmed, true to their guide's promise, it still made the crimson winged B'alam wonder worriedly if this pattern were to continue.
Bidding farewell to one more of their number for now, Pyrrha lingered towards the back of the group as they one-by-one made their way over the small gap. Just in case anyone needed help. After the non-winged members had all safely made it across, Pyrrha followed, glancing back briefly at the Light Magus bringing up their rear.
The path upward had grown steeper here and she was careful to place her paws securely and test her footing before shifting her weight. Gingerly, she made her way upwards, looking ahead to where the others had reached the next level bit of 'ground'. The top of the ramp opened up into another 'room' of sorts, a place of level ground and dim light, making one wish to rely on other senses rather than sight. Pyrrha's gaze had only flickered towards their dark Wind guide for a moment, taking in his cautious stance, when a sharp crack sent a rush of adrenaline and tension through her frame.
As the ??? Attacked it made it's pounce on Pyrrha, In a flash Insidious feather black wings fanned open as he made a one b'alam wall between them and the attacker.
The large light magus was true to his promise and interfered the dastardly pounce. With his swift help and Pyrrha's efforts the dark '???' was subdued. However, there were more levels that must be explored! The large pale magus, had to follow the group. So firmly, he instructed Pyrrha to remain with the '???' and keep watch over them, till their joined descent.

Pyrrha has 'Whited out.' and no longer can join the climb through the tower. Your prize will be revealed at the end! Congratulations. Thank you for helping Victor and Insidious!
As the '???' was subdued, Insidious gave a sharp look to the rest of the group and let his ebony feather wings lower on his back.
'Everyone, gather your self and maintain your barrings, we continue forward,' His raspy quite voice,strained with a audible hiss, as he raised it in volume so everb'alam heard his instruction.
'Follow me!'
Victor's watchful guardian gaze looked to the White and red feather winged, giving a nod he reassured the nan they would be back shortly.
Or so that is what Insidious put together as he watched the large light b'alam turn and follow behind them once more. Their group numbers were dwindling. Just like he knew they would, and warned the other about the multiple attackers. It would have been far too much for even light magus to handle-even as well versed in combat he seemed to be-and wordless claimed with his all-mighty stance. Rolling his eyes to himself, Insidious flicked his tail once more and just as before lead the group forward to the next level. It was repetitive, but something that needed to get done. They had to reach the top. It was important....
Upon entering the next threshold, Insidious stopped. The air was...thick and almost...foggy. His nose raised to the air and his whiskers flared with a twitch.
It was darker in this room, the ground of the level was softer and seemed to be a canopy of leaves held together with vines.
No sooner then the last of the main group entered. something crepted from the corner shadows-having be laying in wait. It was enough to send a chill up a b'alam's spine.
There was a laugh....
THEN SUDDENLY!
