Elias could feel the way Siofra had tensed up and he quickly pulled his hand back, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable in any way. It was then that she turned and realized it was him. He quietly nodded his head in response, not wanting to draw too much attention to themselves, he still wasn't sure what to do. Elias' eyes widened and he shook his head 'no' at her. "I was just..." Elias was about to tell her that he had just been following her and that he didn't have a clue about this when he realized that someone was listening to them. Elias paused, not wanting to let anyone in on the fact that they did not belong. The girl began whispering to Siofra, but Elias couldn't hear what she was saying. He leaned to the side, peering over Siofra's shoulder to watch.

Siofra's attention was on Elias when another started talking to her. Her head turned, thinking it might be okay if Elias was by her side. Maybe just maybe she wouldn't get eaten. Not now, now there were two of them. There was no way they'd get eaten if there were two of them.
"Harn Sheedhiel?" She whispered back, testing out the words on her tongue. No, it all sounded so weird. She started to shake her head, pausing to think better of it. Maybe she should say they were? Siofra nodded, hesitant to let the stranger know she didn't belong. "N-nice to meet you. I'm Siofra, and this is Elias." She squeezed out a smile, introducing her support. Without him she was pretty sure she'd be running for her life right then.
Was there any way she could ask what was going on? Everyone seemed to know what it was, but it still left Elias and her in the dark. Oh man, where was Lelly when she needed her? She always knew what was going on! "How do I get out of here Idalusia?" Maybe they didn't have to get sacrificed and eaten. If this lady from Forn Sheedhiel, wherever that was, knew what was going on, maybe she could get them out of there?

Ida blinked, her eyes growing wide. Nodding or not, it was clear they weren't from Harn. It was obvious she was onto them, but likely in the way they weren't expecting.
So she was right. They were "the lost seeds..." They'd come home... Her eyes flitted between them both, filling quickly with a wide variety of emotions, but mainly joy.
"You've... you've come home... at last..." she breathed out softly then shook her head after a tear or two drifted into her view. Wait. They wanted to leave? Why?! Why did they want to leave? And how did they get in the line if they didn't want to be here. She looked briefly around, spotting the Elder that escorted them into the line and noted that she was of Harn. So maybe that was it... That Harn Elder must have assumed they were Forn. And all the other Forn are assuming they're Harn much like she had initially.
So - they weren't from either tree, they were from out there. Clearly they were being cared for. She cast a quick glance towards Xiulan. She had spoken many times of a mother, and her want to get back to her. Maybe they were all swimming in the same confused boat. With that in mind, it was no wonder why they were so scared. They didn't know what was going on because they hadn't been at either tree during the preparations. And now they were eager to get out of any sort of spotlight and get back home. She was sure of it. Another few taps to her chin happened as she looked to her hooves.
"We won't harm you, ok? You are safe here." she whispered then gently patted Siofra's arm in some small bit of sympathy. "Leave everything to me. I have an idea. Just trust me and don't move, ok? Stay here..."
She turned then, using the shelter of a speaking teen to slip out of line and swiftly move to the throne. Once there, she quickly knelt at the side and leaned forward, cupping a hand to Belwen's ear.
"Please please please, forgive me, my Queen... and please act natural, but we have some frightened new friends in our line." There was some small bit of excitement in her voice, but also some concern. "They're terrified and I think that they were mistaken as dawdlers and pulled in by some of the Elders." She sat back then and looked at Belwen expectantly.Teigra Xiulan - Ida glanced at her. :3

Elias started to get nervous as soon as the other left the line and went straight for the pae that seemed to be at the head of all this. He tugged on Siofra's shoulder to call her attention back to him, "What did you say? I don't like this..." He whispered to her, a nervous frown on his face that quickly turned into a panicked expression. "We should go..." It was kind of crazy to just run for it, but it seemed that, for now, everyone's attention was on the current speaker and they might be able to slip casually into the tree line and then fly away before any of the others could get to them. It was strange, Elias had spent much of his life wanting to find others like him, and he had found Siofra but still felt like something was missing. Now that he was here, he wasn't sure if he wanted to know about where he came from. Maybe he was better off not knowing, he could be happy with just Siofra. He looked between Siofra and the tree line again, knowing they didn't have much time to decide. He didn't want to just up and leave her, but he didn't want to stick around either.

Yesenia calmly smoothed her hair and checked for any dust or pollen to brush from her frame. This was a momentous day and she wanted to look her absolute best! Every Flutter had been preparing for this day for what seemed like forever to her young mind, and now they stood in front of every important Flutter who mattered. Oh, and her peers. Them too.
Smiling warmly at each of the other young flutters, Yesenia turned her gaze to the Elders. Oh, she'd make them so proud! Finally, it came her time to speak and she bowed her head respectfully as she stepped forward before the light returned to her eyes.
"Truly, I could have asked for no greater gift than to be raised in a glorious tree like Harn Sheedhiel! The warmth and care we were all shown allowed us to grow into the fine flutters we all are today," she beamed, taking a moment to look at her fellow youths warmly. "We're all here today to celebrate this momentous step in our lives, where we reach out to find that way to give back to the kind community that gave us so much. Flutters of all colors and skills, there are roles for everyone. We simply have to find where we fit."
There was a flicker of movement out of the corner of her eye, but she remained focused on the Elders as she spoke. Though...were they so focused on her. Resisting the frown that tugged at her lips, she raised her voice and emphasized her inflection to draw attention back to herself. "For the future, I've thought very much about what I'd like to do to give back to the community. And, I've decided that there are plenty enough interested in protecting the trees; I would like to help nourish the valuable souls that give their all for that protection. The blessings of food and drink that nourish our bodies can be a pleasure all its own and--" The young woman trailed off, a look of irritation flickering over her visage. Some Forn upstart had just ignored the fact that she was speaking and gone right up to the Queen, stealing her attention. How dare she?!? Struggling to reign in her indignation, Yesenia stomped a hoof in irritation. "Hey! Is anyone even listening to me?" Turning on Idalusia, she snapped, "Don't interrupt! You already had your turn!"
Xiulan had been remarkably quiet throughout the ceremony thus far, given other Flutters' past experiences with her. She'd had a lot to think about since her talk with the Queen the night before. A long night of thinking and turning things over in her head, weighing her situation and what to do...
The flicker of movement in the tree line that had preceded the Elder Flutters returning with 'wayward youths' caused her eyes to widen in surprise. Her immediate thoughts hadn't been that these strangers were simply from the other Tree. No...they looked lost. Confused. And if they had come from Harn, they wouldn't have likely been able to slip away to the forest so far without being seen. If so, she would have noticed. She kept her eyes open out of habit for such opportunities. No, there was no chance they came from the other Tree. That meant...they came from somewhere outside...
Internally, Xiulan cringed, sadness sinking down over her shoulders unseen. More poor fools, likely with their own families out there...if they were found out, and they would be...
They'd likely never see them again either.
Oh Guardians, you idiots. You should never have come here.

She tried in ernest to pay attention, truly, but her eyes kept drifting to the green flutter she tried to reassure along with the other incredibly nervous looking teens. The ones that she didn't recognize, that gave her a bad feeling. Shaylee watched as Ida seemed to notice their anxiety too, and started speaking to them.
How nice of her to help the other tree's teens! But then she moved out of the line. Her eyes flicked in front of her to the Harn flutter in front of her, trying to reign in her thoughts. Everything had been going smoothly, why couldn't she shake this feeling? Was it just nerves? She was so suspicious of everyone...
At the sudden outburst of the teen infront of her, her blue eyes flicked over to the side. Ida?! This was highly improper! "Idalusia...!" She spoke in surprise. Could this not wait?!

The day was finally here. Marigold had spent many nights dreaming of how amazing this day would be. She'd finally be taken seriously and be able to make her own decisions. Work towards her goals could be a reality! For such an important day, one would think she would have prepared a little better. But Marigold knew she was amazing, and knew she could do this. She didn't need to practice. Whatever she said during her speech was going to be spot-on and perfect because it would come from her heart and soul. That's what mattered.
Preparing a speech was one thing. Looking fabulous was another. Now that she spent hours preparing for. Her hair had to flow just right and her tail had to be bouncy but still hold the curls. No one was allowed to see her before she'd done her hair and face for the day. And today was special, so she was awake before sunrise to get ready.
The day had finally arrived and she had not prepared for how nervous she'd actually be. Before heading out of Harn to the clearing, she had to see Mazarine for something to settle her stomach. And this time, it was for real, not just an excuse. After they'd taken their seats before the ceremony started, she searched the gathered flutters for Hyperion and waved. Of all of Harn, it was natural she'd be closest to the flutter that raised the young ones. She quickly pulled her hand down when she thought Mazarine had spotted her. She blushed and turned her head towards Yesenia seated beside her.
Waiting her turn, she fidgeted with a blade of grass while listening to her peers. She smiled and clapped for her friends when they had their turn. This was exciting and she was so happy to start the planting season as an adult with privileges to leave the tree. She couldn't wait to stretch her wings and finally fly on her own.
When Yesenia started her speech, Marigold felt her heart start to race and her palms grow sweaty. She was next! Wait a minute -
Confusion followed by disappointment flooded through her. What was Yesenia doing? What was that Forn girl doing?
Following her friend's declaration, Marigold followed up with, "Yeah, it's not fair! I haven't even had my chance yet!"

Belwen was almost half-way through the signs and symbols when she'd felt the arrival of the uninvited guests. But were they truly uninvited? She was going to remain visibly ignorant of their presence until the opportunity to deal with the situation rose. She was fairly confident they wouldn't have left. What she hadn't planned on was the Harn watcher and Mazarine escorting them over. Now things were becoming a problem. She'd just finished with the final flower wreath before the newcomers joined the lineup.
It was with great pride the flutter queen watched and listened to the future of the colonies. They had been raised with kindness and love, and they were all so smart. She was even glad to see that three of their precious lost souls returned home. If only they'd have returned yesterday. No, she couldn't think such thoughts. This was a joyous occasion to celebrate life!
Leave it to the always eager Idalusia to raise awareness. Belwen nodded and shot a glance to the three terrified teens. "I'll handle it, go sit down, Ida---" One of the youngsters from Harn spoke up, but not for the reason Belwen feared, thank goodness.
"Yesenia and Marigold, please sit down, you will get your chance." She nodded to Ida to let her know to return to her seat as well. "Shaylee, would you get the bowl ready for the next stage? Tegeirian, could you keep an eye on our young ones for a moment, I need to speak to Lisian and Mazarine."
When the two requested flutters arrived at her side, she spoke in hushed tones to let them know of the situation. "I don't want to startle them, but we can't suddenly include them, and we can't reveal them to the others yet. I need to talk to them first, but I can't interrupt this ceremony any more than I have. We can't let them leave either. Do what you can to keep them here without any force or letting on that you know who they are. During the next stage, I will distract all of them enough for you two to escort them to one of the Sheedhiels. Keep them together." Belwen dismissed them and took her seat to give Yesenia and Marigold her undivided attention.
"Yesenia, please, continue."

The Harn sentry lifted a brow momentarily when the one young teen flutter spoke in undertones to Belwen. The outburst that followed from two others caused Irian to shift her position a bit, surely they knew they all would get a turn. Suddenly she was being asked to watch over the teens while Belwen spoke to two of the other flutter elders, ok that was not something she expected but she nodded and replied "Of course" she replied and stepped closer to the teenagers, her smile returning to her face. "You all are doing wonderfully, we are all so very proud of you" she directed her comment at all the teens, including the 3 she didn't realize were outsiders to this event.

Mazarine returned to his place and smiled softly to each Flutter down the line, nodding a bit to those that he made eye contact with.
He had to admit that he was a little distracted by the rogue teen sneaking over to Queen Belwen in the middle of Yesenia's speech. Odd. He was curious to just what the girl was doing, but leave it to Yesenia to demand attention be brought back to her.
The urge to chuckle was great, but by now he was more so worried as to whether the ceremony would complete now that it had been so rudely interrupted.
He grew even more curious when he was called to meet the Queen with Lisian. Though he quickly found out, he kept his composure and merely nodded to Belwen, the Lisian before returning to his place. He didn't look at the three new flutters among them and instead returned his focus on Yesenia. That didn't stop one of his ears from pivoting and remaining pinned on them. If they'd run off (or try) he'd know.

Idalusia visibly winced and cringed as she was pointed out.
So much for being sneaky...
The idea was to go and alert the Queen without drawing so much attention. With that blatantly failing, her face grew red. Why did that Harn Flutter have to point her out like that?! Rude... Though she supposed she was also the rude one... but how else would she have alerted the Queen without doing something far more drastic?!
With the assurance that Belwen would handle it, she was satisfied enough to returned to her seat. "Sorry, Queen Belwen..." she apologized quietly and moved back towards her seat. She muttered a sorry under her breath as she passed Yesenia and Marigold respectively.
She sat down next to Elias and Siofra, pausing a minute to make sure that no one was paying her much attention anymore and then leaned back to whisper faintly. "Everything's fine. Queen Belwen said she'd handle it... so just... hang tight and play along."

Nova beamed brightly when Hyperion returned her wave. She tried not to wiggle to much over it, but her cheeks were flushing happily. So he was paying attention! Good. She'd make sure that she'd do her very best to sit as still as she could, like he taught her, and present herself like a well mannered Flutter she was. Oh no look! That butterfly was getting chased by that bird-
Both of her friend's sudden change in attitude snapped Nova out of her wandering thoughts. What was going on? It took her only a second to catch back up with what had been playing out before them. “H-hey!” she cried in shock. Who was her tender!? Someone apparently hadn't taught her proper manners! How embarrassing. Her eyes darted to Hyperion to see if he had a reaction to give. She was so thankful she was in the tree she was in. Would she have been raised so disrespectfully had she ended up in that tree?
She snatched up her friend's hands in her's, gripping them tightly. She hoped the motion would have them realize the eyes that were falling on them. They were Harn and as such they had to present themselves better than this rude female! Relief filled her at that moment though as the Queen began to take charge, “Trust the Queen.” she murmured softly. “We have been raised better than that. Let's show them.” she gave her friend's hands another gentle squeeze before smiling brightly at the crowd. Nothing to see here...
As Ida passed by Nova frowned deeply at her, “Not cool.” she muttered back to her. She wasn't trying to start something, but just wanted to be sure this other Flutter understood how awful that had been of her. This was all a special time for them and to have that so disrespectfully torn away from them... How selfish this other one had to be to have all the focus taken away from them and placed on herself. It wasn't just her turn to shine, it was all of their's. A part of Nova wish she could do it over and give her turn over to Yesenia. Then she could have had given her beautiful speech without interruption...
Nova excitedly released Yesenia's hand and motioned for her to continue at the Queen's words. She gave her friend the most encouraging smile, “You got this, knock 'em dead!” she whispered. What an honor to be called on by the Queen herself! Guess it had worked out in the end!
***Lisian chuckled softly at Paradise's reply. "They really are." he replied in agreement to her comment. He then gently patted her shoulder before slipping his hand back behind him. It was great to see her so overwhelmed with joy at the occasion. Her pride in her work was overflowing in the form of those tears and it was inspiring. He hoped his love for their community and his family showed as clearly as her's did.
Everything happened quickly in Lisian's eyes. One moment the teen's words were filling him with pride and the next one was halting the whole process. He unconsciously took a step towards the Queen, reading himself in case he was needed. Something wasn't right. That or this young one had gotten a bit over zealous and wanted to keep herself in the spotlight. He waited and watched till she got sent away. A part of him hurt for the ones that spoke up in an apparent outrage towards the interruption. Things like this never went the way you expected them to and he knew they'd learn that soon enough, but still, it did stink for those who'd worked so hard for this day.
A small smile played up on his lips as their Queen easily diffused the situation. It was always a marvel to see her at work with the others. Everyone loved and respected her so and she never took it for granted, but always managed the situation with that in mind. He heard his name called and put his thoughts away so he could answer. He quietly slipped out of his place and made it to her side.
He nodded respectfully towards Mazarine before focusing on his Queen. His eyes slid to the side as he took in the teens that joined them. Ah, so their off putting reactions weren't just because of nerves. There was something else going on here. A part of him was excited at the thought while the other ached. His mind reflected back to Xiu and the difficulties that had come with her. Would these others be the same? They were about to be adults themselves so what damage could they do...?
But like their Queen said, they couldn't be allowed to leave. He'd trusted her with that since their saving of Xiu. He understood it was for the security of their tree, and that's who he was. His whole being was wrapped up in making sure his family was safe. He'd chosen that over anything in the past, and despite the emotional turmoil it had caused in him with Xiu, he'd continue it. “Understood.” he said softly.
He paused a moment as he waited for Mazarine to step away before turning back to his Queen. For a second his eyes danced, “So it worked then?” Even with his tone hushed there was still joy evident in it. All their planning and work... He gave her a soft bow of the head in dismissal before slipping back into his spot. He began to think it over in his head how'd they go about this without alarming the new comers or the others around them. It would be a delicate situation for sure.

Yesenia's cheeks flushed warmly as she was reprimanded by the Queen. B-but...but...she'd been talking first! Admonished, she sank back, trying to keep her irritation from showing on her face. It wasn't a favorable quality in a lady. It was just... The nerve of that Forn jerk! Trying to hijack her time in the spotlight!
How dare she?!?
Her ire quieted somewhat when Nova took her hand. That's right, keep your calm, Yese. It wasn't worth getting upset over some inconsiderate child. This is your day. Don't let her ruin it for you.
She took a deep breath with eyes closed to regain her composure, squeezing Nova's hand in silent thanks at the same time. Harn ladies had to stick together and watch out for each other. Right? Cause if they didn't watch out for each other, who would? In the meantime, Yesenia tried to re-gather her thoughts and was still a bit flustered when the Queen called on her again to continue.
"Errm..." She stepped forward again, trying to pick up where she'd left off, though she'd completely lost her momentum at this point. And she'd been on such a roll earlier too! She wasn't even sure when the Elders had stopped listening to her. "As I was saying...I'd erm, really like to focus on the blessings we receive each day from what we eat and drink and the joy we can find in such nourishment. If possible, I'd like to work to provide sustenance to those who protect the Trees with their lives. I'll create such wonderful, delicious dishes and beverages that all can enjoy and...and share..." She trailed off awkwardly, knowing that there had been more she'd wanted to say, but having been interrupted and flustered, she couldn't remember right now. Hurriedly, she finished, "Um...that's all. Thank you." Bowing her head respectfully to her Elders, she was quick to move back in line with the rest to try and retain some sense of decorum.
Ugh, at least Marigold would get to go now and hopefully not have to deal with such rudeness.

As the Forn teenager scurried back to her seat, Marigold caught a glimpse of Idalusia whispering to a pair of nervous flutters. They didn't look familiar at all, and at first she considered it because she just wasn't acquainted with all of Forn's flutters. But something didn't feel quite right about those two. For now, she'd dismiss it, but she'd keep an eye them through the rest of the ceremony.
Nova's comforting touch and Yesenia's confident conclusion was just enough for the elegant flutter to refocus her purpose. She cleared her throat and stood up smoothing her hair down. She shook her tail out to restore some of the bounce. Mari gook inventory of all the eyes on her and she smiled bright. Her stature burst with confidence and her voice was smooth as she began her speech.
"Growing up, I always felt that I would be important. And that I would make a difference to Harn. As I got older, and learned from each of our elders that feeling only grew. Within me, those of Harn cultivated confidence and love. I sit here today, because I was taught that I am important - will always be important - as are all of my fellow flutters." She spoke faster the further into her speech she got. She motioned to all of the flutters when she referred to them. It was hard to decipher if she really spoke genuinely from the heart, or was merely offering platitudes. Only she would truly know the answer to that.
"I trust in our queen. I trust that she speaks for both Sheedhiels and she leads us all. I know she will always lead us with compassion and sound judgement. Queen Belwen," Mari turns to directly address the queen, "I pledge my loyalty to you. I promise to uphold all that I have been taught, and I will protect my fellow flutters."
Following her testimony, she clears her throat once more and gives a pause for effect. She offers a winning smile and turns to address everyone gathered so she can announce her plans for the future. She flipped her hair back and shifted her weight to the other hoof assuming another subtle pose. "Someday, I plan to become Queen of Harn. I will work hard and prove myself worthy to the Sheedhiels that I should be chosen as the next queen. I will be a fabulous queen and lead as my idol, Queen Belwen, has lead us." Mari spoke from a place of genuine care, but she wasn't aware that's not how flutters become queens. Only Belwen knew how that happened, so it wasn't something her mentors could have imparted. "To begin my journey to queenhood, I would like to become a druid and student of Mazarine. I want to help in the best possible way, and I know healing will only strengthen my resolve and teach me what I need to know to achieve my dreams. It will bring me closer to my fellow flutters."
Mari's eyes landed on Mazarine and she clasped her hands behind her back offering a little curtsy. She was so excited to have finally announced her plans so she could openly start pursuing them. She flicked her tail and sat back down with her hands folded and resting in her lap. Even with the interruption, she felt amazingly energized and excited.

She bit her lip to quiet her tongue as Queen Belwen reacted to what ever Idalusia had said, hoping Ida wouldn't get into too much trouble for her rudeness.
Of course Belwen took it in stride, but what was going on? Why wasn't she allowed to know? With a moment of hesitation after the Queens request to her, she nodded and started walking to where they had placed the bowl until it was needed.
But not before her blue eyes flicked over to Lisian, just one...more...her heart. Oh her poor little heart.
Laughing. Touching Paradise's shoulder. What did that rainbow flutter have that she didn't?! Only when he started walking over to the queen did she tear her eyes away from him. She had to focus on her task and not think about it. Thinking about it would make her cry, and she was not going to embarrass Forn Seedhiel any further!Wolfs Heart Paradise is on Shay's list XD Irish Night Fox One broken hearted glance
