Fun insane times.

Alright, so... I was going to build a Half-Giant, but after working on it, I came to a realization.

The Race Builder is just broke. There's no real sense of balance, that I could see. So, unless SCN wants to come here and go 'here, have this Half-Giant' I'm going to again think on Oread or Human.

Well half-giants already exist there's just no rp association.

And I'm probably going to do an insanity themed character now just to roll with the blows.

Yea, but that's 3rd party so didn't want to touch it.

I mean, I made two ideas, but kinda felt... a bit too powerful or underwhelming a bit. I'll post em both for group consideration.

About average HP for ya, not bad.

Edited with some Half-giants, built for medium size or large.

Hue hue hue... I might be over doing it but that might be a by product of being effectively crippled.

then again, none of the base races are balance. Dwarves are 12ish racial point, humans are 8, and kobods are 6. If you wish, I can give a few options you can pick from.

Would a huge mount be viable in this campaign or is it more trouble then its worth? I'm just curious cause I'm eyeing the mammoth rider paragon path.

Sorry, I thought I answered this, but guess I didn't post it.
There are spots, planned out, where the group will be indoors. But, much of the city has been leveled by the mana bomb. So size won't be as big of an issue as in some campaigns.

Poor, poor kobolds.

Anyways, I'd be interested in seeing what you think for a 'Half-Giant'. Too bad Powerful Build isn't something you can do, cause it's kinda cool.

The hill giant, which is the ancestor to 3.5 and most other half-giants, doesn't bring much to the table as a parent... The following is one of three ideas I had.

Half-Hill Giant (10 Rp)
Humaniod-0
Medium-0
Specialized (1 RP) +4 Str +2 Con -2 Int
Standard (0 RP)
Natural Armor (2 RP)
Improved Natural Armor 2x(1 RP)
Advanced Strength (4 RP)
Low-Light Vision (1 RP)

Though, if wielding plus sized weapons is the desired outcome, it will cost a feat and won't be half-giant... BUT... why not go tiefling and take Fiendish Heritage?

Nah, Powerful Build does more than just the wielding of +sized weapons, so tiefling doesn't work there.

I do like how that half-giant looks. I'm curious about the other two though.

Half-Shadow Giant (9 Rp)
Humaniod-0
Small - 0
Human Heritage (0 RP)
Standard (0 RP)
Shadow Resistance (2 RP)
Shadow Blending (1 RP)
Mist Child (1 RP)
Swift as Shadows (3 RP)
Swarming (1 RP)
Minesight (2 RP)

The Liger and a number of other hybrid races prove you don't know what you get when you mess with genetics

Kehehe. A small giant. I think I'll use the Hill Giant, unless you got some Half-Storm giant hidden away that could gain ultra lightning prowess XD.

I'll get Samuel to you soon.

The ones I did were one step size-wise between mom and dad(you can pick which is which). I don't mind playing with the outcome with the child, I not a fan of using the "magic did it" excuse too much...

Aside from making a lizardfolk/storm giant, there isn't many humanoids with their size large or bigger.
