A morbid grin stretched across the doctor's face at the memory. "And the irony here does not go unnoticed, for it was your dear mechanic who saved you that time." He blinked at the sparkles, wondering what they were and where Solsi produced them from. Hm... Perhaps if they were indeed magical and were in fact produced by the young woman, he would have to inquire about it sometime... Probably over an operating table. Sciurus arched a brow at Kate, the corners of his mouth almost twitching in a smile. "Heh... You almost sound worried for me. I assure you I don't plan on dying easily, there are too many people I have to kill first."

He followed them into the tunnel, cleaver at the ready and turned his flashlight off as he noticed the heroine glowing. Sciurus noted the growing splashes blood and tried to estimate, based on experience how much Arron had possibly lost so far. The odds didn't look good, but what deepened the surgeon's unease was the tunnel itself. While he had no problem with claustrophobia or dark ominous passageways, the surgeon did note that the tightness of the tunnel was not to their advantage. He tapped a pipe alongside with his cleaver, the sound echoing mournfully. "Nor do I. We face a risk, not knowing what's ahead. And the tunnel itself restricts our movement, for both attack and defense."

Sciurus started to wonder how far the tunnel went as they walked, and what part of town they might be under now. Just as he started to file this place away mentally as somewhere to explore later, the walls changed. It would seem they had reached a new section, with access to the surface judging by the open hatch. A bloodied boot lay discarded on the floor, but it held little interest for the surgeon, being devoid of feet. Instead the surgeon's head snapped up at the sound of a voice, and another sound he was all too familiar with. "Damn. We are too late! I doubt the man would be capable of hailing a cab on his own. We must get up there."

Kate waited for the young woman to return to the surface first. Did she just? And without a ladder? There was no way she could top that. Before heading up, she was about to grab the mechanic's boot. Well, that was until something caught her eye. Something shiny beside it?

The surgeon uttered a curse as he heard tires squealing up above. It would seem that thus far in their mission, time was utterly against them. Sciurus nodded to the mage as she she began ascending the ladder. When Kate was half way up and he was sure she wouldn't fall, he sheathed his cleaver in his belt and followed her.
