Kowsauni Mikah if you want attack the centipedes in front of you and and then shift back one square I can drop an area of effect spell that will hit both enemies. I was thinking of using hit and run, so that works with me, but does that mean ambra is going to stay in range of the centipedes?

I was thinking of using hit and run, so that works with me, but does that mean ambra is going to stay in range of the centipedes? I'm going to shift back one before I attack or perhaps chance a full move action at the risk of an opportunity. It occurred to me though Dwalin might move into the area I was planning to attack since he is a melee character in which case I'll do a different attack.

I just noticed i can't hit and run because i'm out of range for melee attacks so I'm gonna try inmovilizing the centipede with hunter's bear trap.

If your using a ranged attack, make sure to shift back to the south east so you don't trigger an attack of opportunity from the centipede swarm.

(it's two sqares away right? one right and one down)

You can move diagonally, so it is only one square away [W] refers to your weapon dice, or rather which dice you roll for damage when you hit with your weapon. For example, your bow's weapon dice is 1d10. So if you hit with a 1[W] attack, you roll one ten sided die to see how much damage you do. If it is a 2[W] attack, you roll two ten sided dice. Most attacks also deal extra damage based on one of your ability modifiers. If the attack power says you deal 1[W] + Dex modifier damage on a hit, say like with your ranged basic attack, that means you would roll a 1d10 dice and add 4 to the total damage since your dex modifier is 4.

Mik4ilah wait.. how do I use a special attack? what is the [W] why can't i find anything about in in the handbook? When 4th edition first came out, I spent like, 2 days trying to figure this out ^-^ I did PM Flames about being first in initiative order, so hopefully by tomorrow we'll see a post?

If Flames doesn't post by tonight, I will have Dwalin draw his weapon and take the Full Defense action (doesn't do anything but stand there, but +2 to his defenses). Kowsauni, feel free to factor that into your post; I will post as soon as you do.
