She smiled an almost demonic smile, “Enough to have me personally go and break his legs~” she took the coffee and drank it in one, heavy gulp, tossing the empty cup in the direction of a trashcan, missing, but not caring enough to go pick it up.

She grabbed the visor helmet and handed it to Nes, slipping a leg over the crotch rocket, putting the key in and twisting it. The engine roared loudly, purring with each tug of the throttle.
Levi glanced over at Nes, waiting for her to hop on. When she did she took no moment of pause before ripping road and tearing a** down the street, her hair like a witches cape as she zipped through parked cars.

The crying.
I'm dying.

They lied to me
They shot at me
They hate on me
They're dead to me
And now they're all my enemy

‘cause I have other things to fill my time
You take what is yours and I’ll take mine
Now let me at the truth
Which will refresh my broken mind

And Ill find strength in pain

Finally, she made it to the block where her shop sat, waiting for her to open the doors to the public. Her face bore the embarrassment she still felt after such an encounter. ‘Why…why can’t I just say something? Anything!’ she sighed, unlocking the door with a gentle click. ‘All of that could have been avoided if I weren’t so shy…’ but she knew deep down it wasn’t just being shy at this point.

After the death of her mother, Mistee had shut down. Her mother was all she had. Before her, she was just some dirty orphan going through the system over and over, passing through foster homes as if it were something like the flu. Her mother had saved her from that, and she loved her so much for that simple act of kindness.
So when she passed, it was as if all that she’d built up had toppled over. Now she found it hard just to say worlds. She could talk to certain people, but sometimes she just shut down. She wish she could just…speak.

Mistee sighed, flipping the closed sign over to open, and having a look around, her face brightening with her flowers greeting her. “Hello everyone. Did ye sleep well?” she mused, placing a gentle finger on her bursting hibiscus. “No problems with the neighbors?” she giggled, gliding her hand over the petals of a dragon snap bundle. She made her way to the back, placing her hat on to rack and pulling her hair back with a tie, slipping an apron over her skirt.

It was time to feed her friends.

I’ll know my name as it’s called again

So tie me to a post and block my ears
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
I know my call despite my faults
And despite my growing fears

He watched for a moment as the man walked off and checked the time on his phone. "Crap, coach will tear me up if I'm late." He put his ear buds back in and continued his jog, thinking about that encounter and trying to think of a way to make it up to that lady. At the very least now he knows where she works, perhaps an apology visit is in order later...

Arriving at the gym, a portly balding man awaited him, sitting by the entrance and stroking his orange mustache. "You're late, Maurice. Don't tell me you were drinking last night." Even from behind his tinted glasses, the man's beady gaze was formidable and even shook a musclebound athlete like Maurice.

"N-no coach, I had a... strange morning."

The coach grunted, "You better not be trying to lie to me, your habits hurt you and you alone, you know. You want to win the gold, don't you?"

"More than anything, coach."

"Then get on the speed bag, we got work to do, pinhead." The coach raised an eyebrow at him and smirked, then went inside the gym, Maurice following behind.

"Sure, coach Kintobor."

Nes doesn't respond, simply hoping on the bike then clinging for dear life as the woman takes off. She hears Spice's muffled hiss off protest at being squished between the two woman and tries to give the poor feline more room. She looks around as Levi drives, memorizing where they're going in case she had to get back on her own.

User Image Ever After was completely devoid of customers at the moment, just the way Pepper liked it. The blonde sat at the counter, reading a musty old tome of Andersen's Fairy Tales that she had picked up at an estate sale last month. The book had a few color plates in it that had been added to by a purple crayon at some point in the book's life. Two names had been inscribed in the cover. Sally Finley and Mary Catherine, Sally's was written in a young hand, with the shaky printed letters of someone still mastering the skill of writing. Mary's name was in cursive script, some of the letters no more than the squiggles of a mature writer's practiced line. Pepper wondered which of the girls had drawn the witch flying on a broomstick.

On the counter next to the register, an old orange tom was napping, snoring slightly. Pepper absentmindedly reached over and stroked his neck. He opened one amber eye and purred, before closing it again and adjusting his position on the threadbare velvet pillow Pepper had rustled up for him at some point. She was a dog person adopted by a cat.

A low rumble encroached on the silence of the bookstore, Pepper made a face and looked at her noisy stomach. She flipped her wrist and checked her watch. It was breakfast time. Or lunch, maybe. Ever After, in keeping with the tradition of used bookstores everywhere, had been open since four that morning, no wonder she was hungry. She sighed and placed a bookmark in Andersen's Fairy Tales, carefully closing it before getting ready to leave the shop.

"Be good while I'm gone." Pepper said to the cat. He didn't respond. The bells over the door rung as the blonde left the shop, pausing to flip the sign to 'Closed'.

Now, where to go to get a bite?

(I come from the land of pretty rp posts...I'm sorreeeeeey...except not)

After the encounter, Aaron went on to work. It was nothing special, just an auto-repair shop that was owned by a shady man. He tried to stay out of any "back alley dealings" his boss did by keeping his head down & worked. His mind kept going back to the girl he ran into. He knew he would have to a apologize.

He was working on a truck, fixing the carburetor when he checked the time. It was about noon & he was starving. Aaron finished up his job & took lunch. He had scrounged up a ton of change from his couch to buy lunch. He checked the business card for the address as he walked out of the shop. The young man was covered in grease, but he did not care. He grabbed a simple sandwich & soft drink as he walked to the address on the card.

Zipping onto the sidewalk and turning down an alley, Levi slowly parked the bike, flipping her leg over and standing straight, dusting her pants off, ignoring the now kinky mess that her hair was, flipping it over her shoulder. “Now then.” She smiled, looking to Nes, then looking to a window just above them. “Let’s give this fellow a morning he’ll never forget.” Her face was wicked.

As he walked down the street he saw a bike with two women, one looking incredibly young with a cat pull up on a motorcycle. He figured they were friends or possibly relatives. He admired the vehicle from afar. He assessed the situation as they passed him. Aaron silently deemed the pair not a threat to him & continued on his way to the flower shop, passing by a blonde exiting a shop along the way.

Nes surveys the area, tilting her head as she contemplates the window. "Vant me to sneak in virst?" She unzips her vest, letting Spice drop silently to the ground to groom her mussed fur. She starts doing small stretches to loosen up her muscles.

Mistee hummed to herself, all smiles. When she was with her plants, she could forget everything humanity could throw at her. She took a fist full of fertile soil in her gloved hand, packing it into a pot, and placing a freshly budded rose bush into it, “There we go Ramonia! Now you must be thrust after being stuck in that sack for so long.” She mused, pouring some water in the potted plant. “Hopefully someone will buy you soon and give you a nice big home allll to yourself. I promise you wont be in this pot forever.” She kissed the petals before scooping her up and carefully pushed the shop door open with her bum, letting in the fresh air.

She placed a piece of wood at the door, keeping it open. She put Ramonia on the sill, taking in a deep breath. “I know it’s not what you wanted,” she mumbled to the bush, “But the city can be full of love, I think.” Her eyes glazed, but she smiled. “Oh yes, I think we have a chance here, too.” She sighed. Leaning on the cool stone of her shop, taking in the sky.

“Broof! Broof brooo!” came a loud barking.

Mistee turned her head and her smile grew, “Barnaby!” she giggled, opening her arms for the great dane mix, he clambered over, toppling her over with a big ‘onf!’, but she was giggling, getting lots of puppy kisses as she hugged his large neck. “Barnaby, what are you doing out here? Do you want a treat?” she smiled, and he barked. She stood, clapping her hands on her knees, “Does you wants a treatie!?” and he barked, jumping, and she began to jump, “Does Barnaby wants a treatie!?” she giggled, filling the air around her shop with joy.

After a short walk, Aaron found the shop. He stood out front for a few moments, watching the woman play with the dog. He could not help but smile at her infectious laughter.

Levi’s eyes narrowed dangerously at the man passing by, holding up a hand for Nes to be silent. He gazed at them for a moment, then passed on. Levi took a mental note of his face before turning to Nes, “Just slip in through the window, then unlock the door.” She said, handing her a knife…just in case. “He should be asleep, but it is lunch time. He’s not a productive member of society like us.” She said with a half smile.

She gave Nes a boost with her hands, holding her steady with arms thick with lean muscle as she wiggled the window lose.

She giggled, petting the fluffy goof that came for a visit, “Barnaby, lets go get something to eat ye-“ her speech halted as she spotted the man from before. She stood straight, face contorting with anxious feelings, “a-ah…” she took in a breath, ‘just say hello…’ her mind echoed. ‘All you have to do is say hello…just say hello!!’ she shouted in her head.

But…she braced herself against the stray, petting behind his ear. She lifted a gloved hand, giving him the smallest of waves before her eyes shot to the pavement. ‘Don’t be rude…just say hello. Say welcome to my shop!’ Mistee sighed, trying to figure out how her mouth worked again. “H-H…” she repeated the letters in her mind, “H-…H…” but it just wouldn’t come out.

Aaron recognized the change in expression. He had seen it with other patients at the VA hospital & in therapy sessions he had with others. He quietly adverted his gaze to her shoes. He could not think of the words to say, his mind had gone blank.
The only thing he had on him was an extra soft drink. He pulled that out from his pocket & offered it to the woman.
"...I-I'm sorry for m-making y-you feel an-anxious & f-for earlier." he stammered.
