The surgeon tilted his head, magenta eyes studying her curiously. There wasn't much to recognize with the mask, but he couldn't remember ever meeting her before. "I would threaten to make off with yours, but that doesn't seem to bother you. Surely, there must be a reason I hold your fascination, yes? What you enjoy should hold a higher preference than the joys of others."

"I do not understand your confusion, dear." She said with a sweet tone, hiding a wide smile beyond the mask. Why he held her fascination, she was unsure, but she could not simply agree with him. "I know no greater joy than seeing people smile. Whatever it is that makes them happy, I would gladly give what I had just to make it so."

"Everyone wants something that they cannot have, or know that they should not take. People keep asking me to show them my face, even knowing how I feel about it. I see little difference in asking for my lungs." The Freak gently stroke his shoulder. "Though I cannot give you my life, as I have things I ought to be doing, I would do all else in my power just to see you smile like that again."((it's possible you have gifted my main at some point, though I have a terrible memory ^^"))

She had a point there, what Sciurus wanted most was probably for his wife to be alive in his arms again. He wanted to have been successful the first time around so his daughter need'nt have suffered a horrible fate. "True, there were many things I wanted... But they will be forever out of reach. The only thing I want now is vengeance on an abomination I shouldn't have helped make in the first place." He studied her mask as she mentioned it, noting the fine detail. "I have no interest in your mask, nor much understanding of the feelings beneath it. If every secret were to reveal itself, we would lose much of the world's meaning."{xD possibly. I really need to make a master list of my victims er... targets}

"What a gentleman." She giggled.She listened closely, realising he must have met a terrible fate, likely far worse than hers. And now his sorrow had turned to anger, as it often would. "If we cannot change the past, and we cannot foresee the future, we have only the present at hand. When we try to make up for the past, the present disappears, while the future is tainted. And when we live to change the future, the past becomes a burden, and the present a mere tool. But the present, that is where everything happens. Both future and past have once been, or shall be, in the present. When we cannot live for this moment, how could we ever have lived?" As per usual, the Freak went babbling on about something that made little sense. She felt for the man, though she knew there was not much that she could do to ease his pain.((I could really use one of those as well... I keep saving the poems, but when I go through them later on, I have no idea who they were for. xD))

{xD I just wanna try not to forget anyone, also the people with hysterical reactions as well mwahaha. /just noticed the 'realise'/ OuO You spell it the European way, hee!} The surgeon studied her, the feeling of empathy unfamiliar to him, but strong. Her wisdom almost reminded him of Normandy. "Not very well, I should think. But living without those you love is no well form of living either, and justice must be served for those who cannot claim it to rest well."
