(( sweatdrop I used the wrong posting format, probably because I have all of my templates in one word document.... And it was Rydia from FF IV sweatdrop ))  Adrianna looked up at the sky for a moment before replying. "I was invited to attend a dinner party next week... well, I guess they'll have to deal without having me there." There was so many things that were on her calender that she would no longer be able to accomplish with him holding her back, but then again, he obviously had other plans that also included her holding him back. Maybe he could join you. A voice whispered in the back of her mind, and for a moment she thought that it was stupid, but then again, it wasn't too bad of a plan. The witches of her rank were all attending the stupid party and had been wondering whether she'd been courting any young lad yet.
Her head snapped back up and red hair cascaded around her face, amber eyes glowing with excitement that could easily be mistaken for madness. "Or you could come along, too. Then we wouldn't have to hide our disaster from the rest of the magical community! For all they know, you're one of the most powerful wizards... we both have the same ambitions and perhaps we could pretend to be courting one another.... It would be a reason as to why we're going to be stuck like glue to each other for the next year."

Elkand shrugged " I suppose so...its up to you...I've no way in witches affairs." he said and continued to drink the tea she refilled. He kept his eyes closed only opening them when he heard her idea. He stared at her for a moment and thought about it and was tempted to burst out in laughter but as a wizard he was taught to have an open mind and try what seemed to be the best alternative. He grumbled and looked at her " I suppose we could try that as it would be a great cover up and you could keep your title and whatever happiness you think you can salvage form this." he said though he wasn't particularly happy about the idea as having people thank that about them would be a little annoying he would put up with it...as long as they didn't expect hugs or kisses he was fine. He looked at her " Fine, we might as well do that...it'll work for the both of us...and this seal might not burn us..we'll have to keep up the visage for quite a while though. ' he said.
((I know who she is..I have Final fantasy four..both the original and the DS remake XD That game is my favorite Fina; Fantasy games...besides...I play it regularly to throw off the suck level of the newer games..))

Larkanna was slightly taken aback that he'd actually gone along with it, but she could tell that he wanted to laugh. At the moment, she wanted to laugh at her own stupidity, but that wouldn't look very professional and she wanted to look as professional as possible around him. "If you're up for it, then I believe we can pull it off so long as we don't act mechanical. Then we can leave each other alone most of the time." Taking a sip of hot tea, she frowned a little at it before taking out a small pouch of herbs that had been tied to her belt. Taking out some dry leaves, she muttered as she put them in the tea. Then she took a sip of it and nodded with satisfaction. Holding the pouch out for him to take she looked up and said, "The tea's in need of a little more flavor and mint is soothing for the mind and body." (( OOC :: This is the only FF game I own, whcih is extremely sad. >< I'm just upset about the turn-based battles. I mean, you don't slap someone and then wait a little while before slapping them again. XD ))

Elkand nodded " I agree...we might as well...it seems to be the only option available." he said and sighed " I suppose I'll have to actually try and act like I'm happy." he said and watched her put herbs in her tea. He hadn't noticed the tea lacked a little flavor beacuse he usually drank tea a little bland as he wasn't used to obvious flavors. He looked at her and shook his head " No thank you...I prefer my tea without much flavor." he said respectfully and continued to drink peacefully obviously happy with the tea. He put it down and looked at her " Thank you Larkanna." he said.
((I like turn based...I just hate random encounters every three seconds besides you have time to think and your not just pressing buttons XD))

Larkanna nodded, continuing to drink the now flavored tea. Quickly tying the pouch back into place on her belt, she sighed, somewhat contented. "I don't think they'll complain too much. You're a hadnsome enough man, so that will keep them from ignoring your presence." Placing the cup down just after he had, she sat up and made eye contact with him. When he thanked her, she smiled a little, which was strange because she didn't smile very often nowadays with her high and respectable status. "I guess this little encounter wasn't so bad... Truthfully, I was expecting a duel when I got here, hence the reason why I was a little late." (( True, KH has that and it's nice, but sometimes I get all flustered when I press the wrong button at the wrong time. XD Then I start yelling at Roxas and blame him. ))

Elkand raised a brow at what she said as he never expected to hear her say that about him. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck ' Right...I just think they will be amazed yuor with someone." he said and noticed her small smile and titled his head a bit it actually seemed pretty. He shook his head and looked up at the sky and once she mentioned the duel he couldn't help but laugh " A duel right....we'd both be pretty tired right after...I have no real intentions of violently fighting you as you have done nothing." he said.
((I got good at that game so I managed to never mess up my combos..I also have final mix plus for one and two so I need them XD))

Larkanna shrugged a little, her face becoming yet again emotionless and her amber eyes filled with nothing but experience and tiredness. "Just one spell from each of us would have had us both on the ground unconscious." As she'd trained more, she'd found that you slowly became immune to the energy you lost. "It's like being stuck as a novice apprentice yet again, where even the easiest spells drain you dry."

Elkand nodded " Unfortunately you are right....I never really had that problem but now I know what it feels like." he said and looked back at her " Its really sucks...I wish it would have found another way to bind us together without cutting our power...all that hard work was for nothing." he said " Controlling my energy was always so simple...I just hope no one wants us to duel or demonstrate any magic we have learned otherwise we are scrwed." he said.

"I guess we'll have to work our way from the bottom and back to the top again." Larkanna said with a business-like nod. "So we shouldn't be crying over spilled milk... though that does sound like a more desirable alternative." She hadn't gotten to the top of her game through lazing about or doing the least amount of work possible. The only reason why no one had questioned who her parents were was because it seemed obvious that she came from a very respectable family through her actions and refined manners.

Elkand sighed " Yep...we'll just have to practice and practice until we can deal with this issue.." he said " Its gonna take a while but we can do it." he said and grabbed his staff and stood up " I believe we have spent enough time here...I would like to return home and make sure everything is in order Raven." he said and bowed " I'm not quite sure we can use teleportation magic yet but...I have another mode of transportation to get us there in a moment." he said.

"Teleportation on people takes thrice the amount of energy as transporting inanimate things." She said. Larkanna nodded and stood gracefully. Murmuring a spell under her breath, the table and everything on it vanished. She didn't feel drained, but he would and instantly she felt bad for it. "Sorry, sorry!" She took a step forward, her usually emotionless expression taking on one that showed that she really was sorry. She wasn't used to being held back.

As soon as she sent everything a way he leaned on his staff " Blood of angels woman please warn be before you do that!" he said and took a moment to recover " Its fine, its fine..no real harm done." he said and got control of himself and raised his staff. The orb started to glow and he slammed it on the ground. This wasn't really magic it was just something the staff could do so neither of them would really be tired. The ground shook for a moment as a giant stone bird began to make force its way out of the ground. Once above ground it shrieked and looked at them getting low tongue for them to get on its back. Elkand jumped on its back and held out his hand for her as the bird stayed perfectly still. The bird was one of his familiars that resisted in the staff.

"I very much like that phrase... it's got a sort of ring to it...." Larkanna said thoughtfully as he regained his composure. She watched in slight horror as the ground seemed to shatter and a bird appeared. Her amber eyes were wide with fear, but the moment that he held out his hand, she realized that it wouldn't hurt her. No on purpose, anyways. Stepping forward, she took his hand and climbed up behind him. "Now that you've intrigued me, you've better start explaining what you just did."

He looked at her and saw her reaction and almost laughed even if their power was cut it was amazing she would fear such a creature. He looked at when she asked asked about what he did but waited until the bird suddenly sprang to life and started to fly towards home. He then started to explain " This fellow right here would be my familiar." he said " A familiar is a creature that a wizard or in some cases witches would have accompany them...think of them as assistants." he said " As its stands this particular familiar is an ancient one so much be kept within my staff as it is no longer able to function for long periods of time." he said " My staff is beyond special so all I really need to do is think and strike the ground and I can summon my familiar...and the staff holds many other secrets but many of them I do not know about..you probably have a familiar and just haven't found one yet...you often need to gain their trust."

Larkanna managed to hold back a scream when the bird took flight, but she wrapped her arms around Elkand nd closed her eyes. It felt as if her stomach dropped before the bird leveled out in midair. Finally calming her pounding heart, she opened her eyes just in time as he began to speak of familiars. "A strange artifact, but a great one indeed." It was hard to believe that this stone contraption was his familiar, but she decided to keep her doubts to herself. Upon the mentioning that she may have a familiar, she nodded a little, "Perhaps I'll seek mine out instead of roaming around the tomes of ancient kings and sorcerors...." The necklace that she wore around her neck was one of the many treasures that she'd found during her travels. It glowed a little, but she ignored it.
