Stella looked over at Gage and smiled brightly before facing the windshield. She pulled on her seat belt and leaned the chair back a bit. "My family absolutely loves you Gage. If my dumb a** sister can't appreciate you then you deserve someone that will.." She looked back at In-N-Out then towards the road again. Surprisingly excited to be going to the carnival with Gage.

Gage glanced at Stella and smiled as he spoke "Your family may love me, but your sister, is acting like she doesn't anymore. She hasn't shown affection in god knows how long..." He shook his head, laughing softly "Alright, enough about your sister, we're going to enjoy ourselves, without that conversation... She's losing out... And it's her own fault." revving up the car slightly, he took a corner a little faster, nothing scary, just the smallest of tire squeaks as he lead her lower through town, the river wasn't far, and soon enough, the neon lights of the carnival could be seen in front of them. Gage smiled, looking like a child as he clapped happily, winking at Stella "So, what do you want to do first Stell?"

Stella looked out at the carnival lights, trying to think of what to do first. "I want a big teddy bear! Even if I wipe out my wallet trying to win one. So.. Carnival games I suppose? Oo.. Can we go on the Ferris wheel once it gets darker?" She beamed like a kid in a candy store. Carnivals where her favorite, even though every time she played one of their games she never one. It had been her dream since she was a little girl to carry around a big teddy bear that she had one at one of these.

Gage chuckled as they pulled up and he got out, quickly opening her door for her. "You know Stell, you're supposed to let the guy win you the teddy bear..." He put out his hand for hers again and helped her out "And of course we can go on the Ferris Wheel once it gets darker..." he handed money over, paying for their entry and led her into the carnival, tucking the tickets into his pocket.

Stella followed him into the parking, thinking about the teddy bear and the Ferris wheel. "Well no guy has stepped up to the plate lately. So I get to be my own hero." She smiled and looked around, deciding with game would be the most fun to play. She walked up to the one where you pull the trigger on the water gun and fill a balloon until it pops. Her eyes wandered over to the Ferris wheel, a smile pulling across her soft pink lips. "This one!" She giggled, looking over to the big stuffed teddy bears they had. Her eyes landed on a pale blue giant teddy and she decided that she must have that one.

Gage followed her along, chuckling softly and when she stopped at the water gun one, he chuckled and leaned down behind her, his lips next to her ear "Stell, you realize you picked one of the games I love right? Which bear do you want? I'm your hero for the night..." He kissed her cheek with a grin and stepped forward, paying the guy to play. "Pick your bear Stell.... Let's see how much I try."

Stella smiled and she felt butterflies in her tummy. It was one of the nicest thing someone had ever said to her. There was an empty seat next to him so she sat down, facing him. "I'm glad its your favorite.. Hmm.. I really really like that big blue one right there." She pointed up to it, really hoping that he would win and get the teddy bear for her. She couldn't help but feel like she was stealing her sister's boyfriend, but for the moment.. She could care less.

Gage chuckled as he sat down and looked over at Stella, studying her for a moment before he looked up at the bear she pointed out. She wanted the blue bear, she'd get the blue bear...
It took him three tries, and a couple of smaller stuffed animals, but finally, Gage jumped with joy, grinning like a kid as he pointed to the bear and had it handed to him. He smiled at Stella and gave a light bow as he presented her with her prize. "I told you I'd get it for you." He smiled and straightened, his blue eyes sparkling with joy

Stella patiently waited, watching him get so close to winning but not quite close enough. Finally her stomach clenched and she jumped up at the same time he did when he one for the first time. She squealed and giggled as the guy handed Gage the big blue teddy bear. She slowly took the teddy from him and threw her arms around him in a big hug. "Thank you so much! Your my hero!" She giggled and pulled away from him, hugging the giant blue teddy tightly like she would never let it go.

Gage flushed bright red as Stella threw her arms around him in a hug. He laughed softly, almost nervously, as she hugged the bear instead and sighed. He took her hand and looked up to the sky, pointing at the fact that it was now considerably darker before he lead her off toward the Ferris Wheel. "I hope it's dark enough for ya Stell, cause I want on that thing, and you're welcome... I'm glad someone can play hero for you, and I'm glad to be a hero again." He paid for their ride and helped her into the barrel like seat... It wasn't a standard Ferris Wheel, like most, with just a seat, no, this was more like sitting in a giant teacup, suspended in mid air... Plenty of room for the bear as well as them. He stepped in after her, settling down with a soft sigh next to her.
After a few moments, it was obvious nobody was joining them, and the ride began.... Gage smiled as they neared the top, and could see over the town "Everything's so different up here..."

Stella held onto his hand, almost afraid to let go. It was nice to have someone play the hero for her every once in awhile. Seeing as she seldom dated guys it was somewhat hard for her to find a hero good enough for her. She slid into the seat and set the bear on the floor, scooting over a bit to leave enough room for Gage to sit comfortably. Once they were suspended in air she looked around, a smile seeming to be stuck upon her lips.
"Thanks Gage.. For everything I mean. It was nice to have someone there for me... That wasn't just doing it to get in my pants.. Unless thats why your doing this.." She turned to look at him, her smile slowing fading away at the thought.

Gage frowned, hearing someone at the bottom yell something, but being unable to hear what they said... He turned in the seat, looking at Stella as her smile faded. The frown deepened, the humor in his eyes blinking out like a light as he shook his head. "You're worth more than that Stell, and you should know me better than that. I'm not going to take you out, keep you fed, and spend money on getting a bear just to get in your pants. If I wanted that, I'd have just asked... I don't see the point in games..." He heard the yelling again and looked over the edge, watching people argue far below them before he turned and looked back at Stella "I think we're stuck.... As scary as that may seem, I think it stalled..." Gage showed no fear, only amusement that this had seriously happened... He was in a Ferris Wheel "boat" with his girlfriends sister... Who he was seeing a different side of... And the damn machine stopped.... Ok fate, no games now... He had suspicion of Stephanie cheating on him... But throwing Stell into his lap seemed kind of rebound-ish, and if he did end up ever doing anything with her, he sure as hell wouldn't want her to feel like a rebound girl....

"Thanks Gage..That.." She cut her sentence short when she heard people yelling. She looked over the edge and felt really high up. Her heart started to pound in her chest and she got extremely dizzy. She leaned back in the chair, taking deep breaths. Her palms started to sweat and she realized just how much she hated heights. "Gage.. I can't stand heights." She wanted to cling to him so badly, even though she knew her sister would beat her if she found out. This is so stupid. I'm stuck in a Ferris wheel, with my sisters boyfriend. And now of all times I realize I am terrified of heights. What a night... Her head spun and she closed her eyes, trying to keep herself from freaking out even more.

Gage watched as Stella looked over the edge and suddenly she seemed far paler... When she told him she couldn't stand heights, he wanted to laugh, desperately... But, resisting the urge, he scooted closer and scooped her up without hesitation, setting her on his lap and taking her face between his hands. "Breathe Stell, it's no big, it's gonna be just fine, just don't look over the edge again."

She held completely still, the only time her body moved was when she inhaled and exhaled. Her eyes seemed to be glassed over and her heart was beating a million miles per second. She clenched and un-clenched her hands, slowly letting her eyes slide to look behind Gage at the ground which caused her to panic even more.
