F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace stood quietly closing his eyes hearing Alex and Aesa exchange names and such. When she mentioned his name though he shrugged. "Ace is something my father called me, Prince Ace. Its weird here you'll quickly learn. Your queen and king rule over our lands, my king and queen rule over mine. If you want I'll explain it later for you," he shrugged unsure if she would get it or not. Everything here was different than it looked. You didn't know what it was like until you were in the system and lived it. Breathed it. Being a lower life was better than a mage in his mind. "Never been called a maverick though. A dog yes, a wolf yes, even a weasel, never a maverick. . ." he said with a shrug only to stop half way and let out an annoyed sigh. Damn field, he thought to himself. Sighing again, he looked to the heavens even though it was blocked by his roof. He looked back down at her hearing her just chowing down on the food like she was famished.
"Never heard that term either, but it makes sense. Never liked the higher tasting food though. Takes to long to cook and not enough flavor," he shrugged before he looked at Alex noticing her taking the bowls from Aesa, herself, and him to go clean. He raised an eyebrow at her since normally he did it, but what ever, if she wanted to, he'd let the child do it. He looked back at her upon her request for clean clothes and he nodded. "Alex'll take you somewhere you can bathe if you want. I don't need to be payed though for rescue or the clothes. I have robes you can use," he said quietly not waiting for her to answer before he walked towards the other end of the house pulling off his shirt and showing his tan, scar covered back, and little bit of bandage on his shoulder before he vanished into his room.
Once in his room, he undressed and pulled back on fresh dark colored clothes and his boots again leaving his shirt off as he looked for a robe for her. He had some some where, he knew he did. He hunted through his room, then the 'armory' finding a expensive blue one accented in silver. He was glad he'd found it since he had nothing to do with it and it was to good to let waste. He pulled on a shirt before he left his room again with the robe folded over his arm waiting to see if he would see Aesa or Alex waiting for him for the clothes. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Even though they were simple chores, she was glad that Aera was helping her. As simple as they may be. She soon was done and she smiled to skip off when being dismissed. She'd been dismissed before and never questioned either party. After getting out of the house, she quickly made her way over to to the bath house to prepare it for her after lighting a few candles from it being so dark. She smiled and looked around getting water to warm up and such.
Ace picked his head up seeing her and then narrowed his eyes a little bit. He was about to make a comment before he was pushed back into the room taking a few quick steps to keep from falling down. "Doesn't seem like I have a choice," he muttered before looking at her slightly agressive when she suddenly put her hand along his shoulder. He growled about to fight back when a cold burning feeling hit him. He bit his lip hard holding his breath until she was done glad it was really quick. He rolled his shoulder gently finding it still sore, but not to bad to use like before.
Finally taking in air, he put the robe on the messy bed taking everything in outside quietly before a cruel smile spread on his face but it was one towards himself more odd enough as he realized she would have to stay with her. He looked at her quietly and shook his head laughing a little bit not a lot still. "If you don't wanna be robbed, tortured, imprisoned, or raped, honestly, your only safe place is here," he said completely serious. "Around here, mages don't belong. Your kind stays in your side of the land and we stay in ours. In the rare cases we cross, its not safe honestly. You have no where to turn but the people who want to arrest you or me. Honestly, I think you are better off here for a bit. You can dress like us all you ant, but we aren't blind. We know who was born here and who had fallen here." When he spoke it sounded dark evil, cruel. It sounded like he knew what he was talking about from experience even if he didn't fall as far as she did. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє "Nor are they!" he snapped back getting angry for her not believing him. "You wanna go out there and try your luck, fine. You'll be eaten alive in a few days! I'm not doubting your strengths, nor am I complementing them though. We aren't just roughes, mindless creatures your society has cut us out as. You are in for a rude awakening, Angel, wether you like it or not!" he said angrily but not in a mater of fact tone. The after math though was his face turning red realizing he called her Angel, but the anger simmered that down a little bit. He walked away a bit and put his forehead against the door quietly sighing closing his eyes before he looked at her and sat down on the floor.
"Just having brawn here gets you no where. In order to survive you must have both," he explained a lot calmer now, "Like you, we have an order here, we have a way of life. You are nothing here except food for the starving dogs of our life metaphorically and truthfully. That term I gave you before wasn't a endearment from my father, it was my birth right. You just don't belong here," he said becoming more stressed in the end as he ran his hand through his hair but stopped to rest his forehead in his palm. He closed his eyes thinking about how this was going to work. It was thrown so out of whack. He was right though, she didn't belong here, nor did she belong in a dungeon either. Unlike him, she was innocent and this needed to be cleared up before something bad happened. He pulled his blade out of his pants again finding it uncomfortable before he threw it in the wall into a target right in the middle without really looking. He'd done it so much it was like breathing now from any angle practically. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace sighed loudly before looking up at her and shook his head. "I would have forgiven you right away, you didn't have to ask for it," he said honestly and quietly. While she had to apologize, he didn't find it necisary when both parties were in the wrong. He knew he shouldn't have snapped but he couldn't help himself to. It was just so stressful for him after all of this. "I'm sure the bath house is ready for you to clean up in. The robe is on my bed and I'll clean up as well. I'll meet you back in the house," he said with a soft voice. He slowly stood up and opened the door sighing slightly before he left her.
He needed sleep, that's what he needed the most. He didn't need food, he didn't need to get out, and he didn't need something to do. He needed nothing to do. As he tried to focus on when he could finally get some sleep, Aesa came back into his mind. He sighed and rubbed his eyes leaving the house and going to a seperate one that he'd made for himself before Alex insisted in having her own 'girls bath house'. He walked out into the woods into the middle of no where before he found it. Gathering water from the stream, he heated the bath as he undressed and slipped into the still cold water and quickly cleaned the dirt and grime from his body.
~
At seeing Aesa, Alex's bored face lit up in a smile. It was obvious that the five year old quickly took to her. "Aesa!" she grinned, "What did you have to talk to Jack--Ace about?" She flushed at practicly saying her older brother's name when she knew she wasn't to. It was a bad idea she'd been told how he was wanted and they would come and take him away if she wasn't careful. At this she covered her mouth and glared at her as if it was her fault for her slip of the tongue. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Alex looked at her and smiled before closing her eyes tightly. "Thanks, I'm glad you can think that. Brother tells me a lot of people don't like him and would take him away forever if they knew who he was. So please don't tell. I don't think you will though," she smiled sitting down on the ground quietly with her eyes still closed. She yawned and stretched a little bit looking around and curious about what was going on. She took her hair and started blindly braiding it quietly into a neat french braid. Once she was done, she pulled a ribbon out of her pocket and tied it before letting it fall half way down her back again. Upon finishing her task, she flopped down on the warm wood floor calmly and quietly with her eyes still closed.
"What is your question though, Mage Aesa?" she asked in a more childish tone then she'd had the first time when directly addressing her. She yawned loudly a little tired as it was becoming later in the night, but she wanted to help her new friend. As she laid there though, she thought about her brother and when he came home hurting and with another girl. Honestly, Aesa scared her at first, terrified her. She'd been told stories how mages wanted everyone as slaves, but her teacher had to be wrong. Aesa wasn't like that and Ace never told her that. It surprised her though. He respected them but didn't like them. The small child impatiently waited for the question wanting to know what it was.
Ace bathed quickly taking away the smell and filth off of him leaving him feel refreshed and a lot more relaxed after the cold bath. By the time it had warmed up, he was already done and he stepped out drying off. He rubbed his tired eyes before he pulled his clothes back on and walked home. It was a quick trek but it tired him immensely. His mind was to clouded to think, it could only really answer and function the rest of him. Even as much as he couldn't make himself think, he thought any way. He thought about Aesa though mostly even if he tried to not think so. He was so worried about how she was going to survive through this without being caught. This was no place for a higher living mage. It just didn't happen without assistance and it seemed that he was to be the person that kept her alive. He thought about how she called him a unmarked animal and he stopped feeling that hit him hard. He wasn't unmarked. He was the most branded creature out in the world here.
He snarled at this and walked forward again full of anger again. He felt crazy for all this. Since when did he care if he was marked. Apparently since now. Ace grumbled and decided he just needed a lot of sleep and then he would be fine. Stumbling in the door, he stumbled a few feet before he was standing in front of the trunk of blankets. He opened it and pulled out a blanket and just dropped it on the ground before sinking down hard. He closed his eyes the second his head hit and soon he was unconscious after. He was so tired and didn't care if Aesa was here any more. HE just wanted to sleep. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Alex fallowed after her happily and smiled before she found her brother on the floor sleeping. He wasn't sleeping well, she could tell that even though he seemed to be find. He was completely tense in his sleep, but he didn't seem to care enough to wake up. Alex did though. When Aesa left she just smiled at her. "It's okay if you stay here," she reassured her at the last second. She looked at her brother and rubbed his ribs gently. In his sleep, he lifted up his arm and slightly and she snuggled against his chest and he wrapped his arm back around her again. He held her cool body close to his warm one and she quickly fell asleep in his arm.
Ace woke up last sleeping late into the day and heavily. It wasn't a normal sleep, it was an exhausted need for sleep. Alex was up first though making breakfast happily wanting for it to be special for her new guest. She busied herself with making a sweet bread. Once she was done, the hot smell wafted around the house happily cutting it open letting some steam escape as she waited for Aesa to get up. She couldn't help it that she was extreamly excited to see what she thought of it, also wanting her to do something about her brother since she didn't understand it. He wasn't waking up even though he seemed okay. She just didn't understand how tired he was right then as he was sleeping through the morning. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Alex shook her head. "No, I've got it until I cut it up. Why is he sleeping so much?" she asked honestly confused. He never slept that much and even though that Aesa understood he was exhausted, she didn't. She put the warm bread on the table and motioned that she could eat when she wanted since she had places to go. "I have to go to school and stuff like that though. I'll be back at lunch then dinner," she grinned playfully. She took another slice of the bread and ran into her room to get dressed. She came back out in a tomboyish gown before eating the bread and heading out the door. She waved good bye then vanished. Alex ran from her home into the woods where her small class would be waiting for her.
Ace rolled over onto his other side when Alex left and he snuggled further into the "bed" still not sleeping well since last night. He was tiring himself out sleeping. He muttered something before laying still again being in oblivion again. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

Aesa didn't have time to answer the excited child as she ran about serving and cleaning. And then just as suddenly she was gone. Children had inexhaustible sources of energy that Aesa envied. As the little whirlwind that went by Alex swept back into the room to snag another piece of bread, Aesa was just finishing her own serving. It tasted as good as it had smelled and Aesa had to call that out to Alex as she ran from the house to meet with her schoolmates.
Looking over her shoulder she wanted to ensure she hadn't woken the sleeping male she was pleased to see he slumbered on. That is, until she saw how restless he was. Not exactly the deep oblivion she herself had enjoyed when her body had been so depleted. Rising from her chair she made her way quietly over to the unconscious Ace and knelt at his side. She carefully brushed his hair from his forehead and frowned in consternation to find him warm.
