Arthur Sataine
I'm calm now. I apologize for the heated outburst. Gabriel, I respect what you wrote. That is how a discussion should be. Calmly laying out the information, not antogonizing anyone in anyway. That's all I ask, to be civil. Of course my outburst wasn't very civil, but I apologized. Let's get back to talking about SSB/M shall we?

Glad to hear it.

Click the video's link in my sig and lookup Linkology, The Germ does it there, but the thing is that you can only really do it at about 300% damage sad

So nobody really uses it.

At least, to the best of my knowledge.

Holy crap! An hour at 56k. Sigh, I need to move to a bigger city. Well, can't really afford high speed right now. Anyway, I'll wait the hour and check it out.

@arthur - using the rom and emu aren't illegal, they are just illegal to discuss on this site. read the ToS...
so long as you own the game IRL, you can have it on your compy. and I have SSB in my 64 right now in fact. so, why shouldn't I use online to prove the point? and I wouldn't be rude to noobs if they'd listen, but as usual, they think the pwn everyone and are the greatest. and they are wrong, always. I know we were all noobs at one point, but I know for a fact when I was a noob I didn't think I was the best. and besides, all I asked was for them to go to smashboards to at least take the first step out of noobdom, but they refuse to listen.

and I know WD isn't everything, but like arc said, it is still an advanced tech and is required to become a true pro. if you cant use mind games, you are suffering majorly in your game, and everyone who is any good knows it. it seperates the good smashers from the best. mind games decide matches more often than not, and are necessary. if you make yourself predictable, your only defense is fox or falco's awsome offense, but even then you are still lacking a lot.

and well, I'd read more, but I'm about to leave school, so yeah.

Arthur Sataine made indeed a good point and I agree with most if not all of it.

And I guess I should give my apologies to Felix for acting all big and bad.
I just got extremely annoyed by the fact that he made himself king of the thread just because he uses the site and that WaveDashing is the key to win.

So here my apology to you Felix: I am sorry for the way I acted.

And he did beat me fair and square on the online SSB game, but that was also my mistake since I wanted to try out the game asap and did not train as Felix had said so.

Oh and I have seen vids from that Ken guy (not through Smashboard.com) and he rather disappointed my expectations, he made a lot of mistakes that could easely had been prevented, BUT I only have seen 1 or 2 vids with him in the role as Marth.
Meaning that I place my facts on those alone and nothing else (for now).
I also have a vid where some Fox player makes very well placed and precise kills using his shield alot.
Or a Ganondorf player who apparently shoots the sandbag 9999+9 away.

So if anyone knows a program where I can put those vids here FROM my own comp then I hope you can tell me where and how to get it so that I can put them up.
And I still need to make a vid where I am playing with a friend... but currently are Fire Emblem and Battlefield 2 taking alot of my time xd .

er, I wouldn't be dissing ken saying he could have improved, I promise you he could beat anyone here, and everyone will admit it. not to mention, no one is perfect. he is easily the best smasher in the world, if he had flaws, there probably weren't many. and whether you like to think of it or not, more than likley you will make tons of mistakes and not realize it. I watch my own vid I made and cant help but to think what I'd have done differently and could have changed the outcome of the game...

and you cant kill with your shield...you are probably thinking of the shine.

and I really never claimed myself above anyone besides those that refused to learn the depth of smash, and like I said earlier and in the topic many times, so long as you go to smashboards and see how much more to smash, I dont care and I dont put myself above anyone.

er, there is a bunch of sites, you can upload them to youtube, google video, or you could use something like megaupload to have it downloaded and kept forever.

sorry, off topic, but do you play FEBW? I play it but besides that I've never played a fire emblem game.

I'm playing FE: Path of Radiance right now.

You have to remember, the vids of Ken you're watching are probably against the like of Isai, Azen, Captain Jack, Husband, Wife and many other of the Top 25 players in the world.

If he fought against any random play, he would no doubt 4 stock them.

Sliph (Mod in my guild) played against Ken once and was able to take two stock off him I think.

Anyway, try megaupload.com for uploading vids, there's a time limit or soemthing, but it increases as more people download it, which is better than rapidshare or filefront.

As I said, I only have seen 1 or 2 vids with him in it so I don't know for the rest how he plays and I think one of those vids was against Azen.
And I do believe that he is extremely good, but aslong as I have not played against him presonally I can't say how good he really is.
And I know that I make alot of mistakes, but not much more then that he made in the vid(s), but as I said, I never have played against him nor seen more vids of him so I can't make any good comparison.

And I do think it was with the shield and not the shine that Fox made those kills. (bumping them away from the edge so far that they can't get back and stuff)

And all is well then between us I hope? 3nodding

I'll see if I one of those sites work, thanks.

Fire Emblem: BW?
I dunno wich one that is?

And I have played FE: Sword of Seal/Sealed Sword - FE 6 (I believe) - FE: Path of Radiance.
(And my father just let someone borrow my cube for the weekend, that a**! scream stressed ...)

I'm at Chapter 10/11 with FE Path of Radiance I believe, the movie clips are made in a great way.

And I believe one vid was Ken VS Azen.

Then that Sliph guy/girl was lucky, I always enjoy playing against good players whee .

And I'll see that site aswell, arigato.

silph got him down to 1 stock, but apparantly ken doesn't try in friendlies till his last stock, he always sandbags them.

and trust me, no one here stands a chance against ken. not in any way whatsoever.

you really can't kill with the shield...they had to have used the shine. I've never seen anyone kill someone with the shield, it really is impossible.

..Nice videos, it was great to see how some of the vets play, I'm about THAT fast with Fox, but I couldn't time my attacks or coordinate that well. Though, some of my vet friends are THAT good though. Nice videos. Congrats! ^^ Btw, anyone here ever executed a Wave Dash yet? xd

Oh, so I see, intriguing. Oh, and Felix, now I know that those videos, the person named Ryan was you, interesting, he plays just as good as my friend, Alex. neutral Of course, I rotate around using Fox to Young Link, every once in a while anyway. The good thing is, I can attack, jump, evade, and smash that fast, the problem here is, only 70% of the time, will my attack actually hit on someone. I seriously need to join smashboards, most of the kids in my school that plays SSBM goes there. 8]

You've got to remember that the Shine (Reflector) will only cause damage and knockback on the very first frame of its animation.

So when you see Zelgadis's Fox shine the Up B recovery of all those Fox's and Falco's, he's had to time it to exactly 1/60th of a frame.

Of course once you get good, it isn't THAT hard, but it does require alot of skill.

The shine can also outprioritise attacks, effectively cancelling them out, so it really is one of the most useful B moves in the game.

If you've ever seen pro matches, they hardly ever sit there and reflect projectiles with Fox or Falco, it just takes too long.

And that goes the same with me, I think reflecting projectiles with the reflector is just too time consuming when playing Fox or Falco, I'd rather jump over their projectile attacks with Fox to a DrillShine combo.

Dare I say that reflecting projectiles is the most useless ability the reflector has?

I say yes.

Still doesn't mean I won't fake Samus into using it and reflecting it into her face as a mindgame though ninja

Ok, I don't necessarily agree with this post, simply because even though the refelcting wastes a bit of time, it's quite useful, you can startle your opponent with it, casuing them to dodge, then you can use that opportunity to attack them, so it's way better than dodging it regularly, besides, Fox/Falco's reflector's more offensive than it is defensive most of the time, if used properly. I always repel my opponents with it, not just their projectiles. I normally do a drill and a reflector for a 1-2 combo, heh, fun stuff.
