I just like metal period. I get bored listening to people label all of the different sub genres. To me it doesn't really matter, just a mere technicality. The important thing is the music and whether or not it sounds good, in my opinion. Labels on most things tend to be superficial. Eh, whatever. To each his own.

I listened to Metal for a good five or six years. I got bored of it, overall its a very boring genre once you dig down deep into it.

I could never listen to pretty much just metal. I mean, yeah, it's hard to imagine picking one genre to listen to exclusively.
But especially not metal. More so when you take into account all the various genres I don't enjoy, and how badly a lot of metal bands suck.
But most importantly, I wouldn't want every conversation about music I ever have to be with people who consider themselves metalheads.

I listened to metal for like a month in my freshman year of high school.

Right now I mostly listen to Post-Industrial, Alt Country, and EDM.
Metal has been falling back into my least listened to genre.

I tend to roll it out a lot as summer music. Right now it's more of a shuffle surprise.
But I just stick with the whole stoner/sludge/doom deal.
And, I mean, I highly enjoy the stuff I listen to. cuz that's why I listen to it. But I'm not about to spend a year listening nonstop.
It's like a nice side dish that would make me puke if I tried to turn it into a main course.
I've been doing a lot of shuffle late, because I'm indecisive, and might use this time to start listening to the buildup of albums I have yet to listen to.
But 'til then, I've been going with rap for full albums.

I like pretty much all kinds of metal. But like you guys have said, I couldn't listen to just metal all the time. I like many other genres of music too, and when I listen to my mp3 player or last.fm, it all comes at me in a big jumble, which is how I like it. 3nodding
