Haha, I call most girls mam. Being called mam doesn't make you old, it makes you official!
I use that kind of thing to designate respect or whatevers; also it's polite. If you wish to refrain from being called mam I shall do so, but miss, misses, and mamz make your name sound so much prettier!

Yeah, I don't much like Harry Potter...but using it as an explanation for how things happen ALL THE TIME is really fun. Like, people at my job get confused when they ask how I did something on their computers, and the only explanation they get is "Harry Potter Magic". It makes me giggle.
