I'm half Japanese, and my Japanese relatives are constantly calling me to see if I'm okay if their shoelaces come undone. Apparently, something bad happens to your family if your shoelaces come untied.

I know living here in Japan and having a nasty phobia of giant spiders (they are everywhere o.o Why?! dear god WHY!?!) has led me to find out that there are a lot of spider superstitions... especially around what time of day you can safely kill them.... which is NEVER.

Also there is don't step on the colored seams of the tatami... it's kind of like the idea of not stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk/street here in the states.
