Magical Girl Yossy
I've attempted to live the life of a princess for all of my life before I realized that there was a collective group of people who do the same - and even have a name for it! xd
My spare cash seems to go towards dress-up jewelry and bedroom decor intended for those far, far younger than myself. sweatdrop
I adore the sweetness and innocence of the human heart. I want to live that role and encourage others to embrace their inner magic. The encouragement part is hard because I'm such a shut-in (and I'm not yet brave enough to show my lolita self in public), but I make up for it by being kind and courteous to everyone I meet.
By the by, has anyone here heard of or read the childrens' novel, Fancy Nancy? That girl is, like, a deity in my eyes.
I have heard of her. My little sister owes a book I think... or perhaps he borrowed it from the library... I can't remember redface But I ended up reading it and thought it was SO CUTE!!! heart

*glides quietly in from the "What really ticks you off?" thread"
I wear lolita not only because it's beautiful and it makes me behave, but also to hide. I use the ruffles as a shield and a scapegoat for all the stares I get. I tell myself, "It's because they've never seen a lolita," instead of, "It's because they've never seen a legally blind person." But I wear it mostly because I feel elegant and wearing it makes me act more elegant.

I judge people by what they act not what they wear smile

I rarely ever feel beautiful, but I feel "at home" in lolita. And that's close enough to beautiful for me.

Well, I was an awkward tomboy before I found out about lolita. I was also just starting high school and didn't fit in with most of the Catholic school girls (Prior to that, I went to public school) who sported minis, teased blond hair (I was also the only Asian in my class), and knew each other. I wanted to be as pretty and less awkward as those girls, but I came to realize that I'm not them and it's nearly impossible; I needed to find out who I was - who could I be on my own and have something that only I would love, and feel comfortable in?
The frilly fashion was so elegant and feminine - something I've lacked during the awkward middle school years. I know sounds cheesy, but it was sort of like my calling. Lolita helped me regain some of that confidence and it eventually introduced me to other fashions.

I lolita because I want to be a kid forever and wearing lolita makes me feel that way. Plus when i wear lolita I'm myself. Everyone I know thinks I'm more me when I dress like that. They think I'm weird and different but me. I don't lolita all the time, didn't have the money. Now I found a good site and will try to buy stuff every month so I can dress like that everyday unless it's cold. lol
