I just LOVE Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass! Two of my favorite reads.

I have to say that I can somewhat agree with Waku/Kerrie and Ala. The Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts were two very different characters, and played two very different roles. However, I don't think Anne Hathaway was a great choice for Alice; she's not the right type to me. I read her as more of a "doe-eyed lady-child" than an "adventurous but innocent little firecracker." Maybe she'll surprise me.

Also... doesn't everyone want Alan Rickman's voice? I mean, it's so... perfect. Like he cooing and purring at the same time. 3nodding

Anne Hathaway is the White Queen, not Alice.

But I agree that she doesn't really seem right for the film.

@Steph: Once I look at his teeth, I'm reminded of my aunt. After that, all ooey-gooey romance thoughts flee my mind. xd

@ Chex: That doesn't bother me so much as the fact that just above his smoldering eyes are those two rather large cats that are stuck to his browbone. They're so distracting in close-ups. xd Though, I guess picturing your aunt would be too.

If I ever met Alan Rickman, I think I'd yell, "Holy s**t! It's Alan Rickman!" and then faint. rolleyes

I never got the Clive Owen fixation... He always looks like he just tasted something sour to me. Morgan Freeman is where awesome comes from, and Paul Giamatti wins at playing dicks and liars.

@Steph: If I saw any celebrity I knew, I'd faint. It'd certainly be one heck of an honor to meet them, though.

Also, after Bruce Almighty, I cannot picture God any other person beside Morgan Freeman. He just has to look at you, ask, "What are you doing?" all pitying and sympathetic while placing a hand on your shoulder and you'll break down. (That's a dumb inside joke between my friends and I concerning the terrorists).

I too have to say I'm not a fan of Anne. She's just too.... girlie for my liking.

I don't know who this Mia chicky is, but she looks ok, in the pictures she seems to have the curiosity on her face. So maybe we'll get lucky with her.

Anyone else find it kinda creepy that Depp looks like Elijah Wood?

I'm not a big fan of watching people fulfill their sexual desires and fancies on TV. I blush when I see a couple heatedly making out.

I enjoy reading about sex, yes, but watching it? Unless it's straight out doofy porn from Playboy, I'm not into that. I can laugh at Playboy.

I'm with Ala. Anne Hathaway...I don't know...I don't know why I dislike her really. I just kinda don't get what the big deal is. And I really don't like her eyebrows....
And yeah...I mean, I love Alice as much as the next person, but seriously. Every time anything new and Alice related comes out, all the little teeny boppers come out of the woodwork talking about how it's they're favoritest books ever and they're such huuuge Carrol fans and you really just wanna role your eyes. It's like the vampire thing. But with a jabberwocky and bunnies.

I like Depp, but the extreme character roles and fake British-y accent are getting way old.
And Burton seriously needs to make a breakthrough and stop using the same exact people in every single one of his movies ever. Quit hiring your friends and girlfriend, Burton! Go out into the world! Meet new people! Try NEW things! Pleeeeeease...?! Your movies may still suck, but at least I'd respect ya more!


And who doesn't like Alan Rickman? Although I personally would rather have Michael Emerson talk to me all day, everyday instead, I'm afraid. Marvin or not.

And again, this ISN'T Alice in Wonderland OR Through the Looking-Glass, but a sequel, and I don't yet know what bits they're picking from which for their narrative. smile

Elijah Woods is creepy enough on his own. lol Seriously. I think there's a picture in his attic growing taller and aging for him. ^_^
