Chobits is an anime/manga about a computer with AI who looks like a pretty girl, and who falls in love with the college student protagonist. Elfen Lied is... well... sweatdrop Just look it up. But it is REALLY good. I think that I misspelled it in my last post. confused

Oh, I know about the elfin blood fountains, but how does chobits end? (i'm not all that interested in it so spoilers are no problem for me)

It rather weird, but I'll put it in white for those who don't want to know.

Spoiler Alert!

You find out that the lady who has been giving Chi clothes was the wife the man who created Chi and Freya (sp?). Then, she decides to kill Chi and then Freya overtakes Chi's body (because Freya gave Chi her memories before killing herself). Hideki announces that he will love Chi (and marry her?) and that seems to satisfy everyone. The End. The was the anime version anyway. It didn't make a bit of sense. I want to look at the manga sometime.

You're right. Worse than that starburst commercial about contradictions.

CLAMP is kind of hit and miss. Their art is great, but some of the stories can be a bit lacking...full of holes. My favorite thing by CLAMP is Cardcaptor Sakura. (The manga is far superior to the anime.)

Ooo! I have the manga for Magic Knight Rayearth! xd

Last night, I decided to watch Petshop of Horros on a whim. (mostly because it's only 4 episodes) It was creepy! eek (Or at least it was at 2AM) I only watched the first two episodes last night. I'll probably watch the other two tonight.

What is Petshop of Horros about? Or do I want to know, since I scare pretty easily?

I'm just "dipping my toe" into the anime and manga "water," so to speak, but so far the manga series I enjoy are Case Closed (Detective Conan), DNAngel, Azumanga Daioh, and Tsubasa. As for anime, I like Azumanga Daioh, Tenchi Muyo (the TV series--I think it's sometimes called Tenchi Universe), Sailor Moon, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Read or Die, and Read or Dream (ROD: The TV series). The only thing that bugs me about ROD: The TV is that I always get really, really depressed when I watch it! I have really odd reactions to things sometimes....

But, yeah, if a friend recommends a good action, comedy, or fantasy series to me, I'll try to watch it. As long as it's not horror, I'll give a lot of things a chance.

The horror ones are fun to watch late at night. heart

Petshop of Horrors is basically about a petshop that sells humanoid looking pets to people with problems. Everyone who buys a pet dies in the end because of that pet. It's creepy, but mediocre. Still, it was enjoyable to watch.

I like Wolf's Rain, Fairy Tail, & One Piece. (anime)
I like Fruits Basket. (manga) To be honest I haven't spent any time looking into others.

I had forgotten about this thread! Thanks for reviving it! heart

I've gotten to the point where I watch more J-Dramas than anime. Right now, I'm watching Maou, and it is incredibly addictive. The music from the show gets stuck in my head, and I have to watch another episode. xd I'm also watching three other anime series at the same time: Soul Eater, Princess Tutu, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. I am going way too slowly watching them though all of them are great series. I also watch all the new episodes of Hetalia when they come out. It's one of the most brilliant animes of all time. Check it out if you haven't seen any of it yet. heart

Let's see...
Favorite animations:
- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (you need a high attention span)
- Mushishi (very calm and soothing - love the OST)
- (Zoku) Natsume Yuujinchou (same genre as Mushishi but crappy OST xD)
- Baccano! (short and awesome)
- Monster (fantastic and very realistic)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (because this was what introduced me to anime xD)

Favorite mangas:
- Berserk (this was what introduced me to manga and it's awesome xD)
- Blame! (action packed, barely any talking: I think the main character has only 10 or so lines in the whole manga - 10 volumes)
- Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan (short - 1 volume - but incredibly well written; strong emotions)

As for what I'm watching, nothing really. I'm kind of in a hiatus from anime, since recent series seem to suck... badly!
I do watch Hetalia every once in a while, but that's because I just want to finish the damned thing. First season was great, second season was ok, second series so far is absolute crap.

I'm a huge Hetalia fan, but I don't think that the series has deteriorated at all. It simply moved from WWII to other times, topics, and political events. It never ceases to make me laugh. whee

I was watching Monster, but I missed a few episodes on SyFy, and I just never bothered finishing it. I enjoyed it though, so I think I will finish it one of these days.

I don't remember it being much different, but it's been a while.
Still it's not as bad as Absolute Boyfriend... the ending of that one made me want to use the manga as fireplace kindling, which I didn't act on only because we have one of those flat screen televisions that would get ruined if a spark from the fireplace hit it.
