Coral Delight I really agree with what xXrockin_coyoteXx said about how we should tets on criminals . I think that is a fabulous idea ! Instead of having them rot in a jail cell , why not have them do something productive for society ?! What happens if someone was put in jail for a crime they didn't commit, then developed a debilitating condition due to the tests on them, and were later found innocent? Plus all humans, even criminals, have rights. Testing on people should only be on a voluntary basis. (Maybe testing on criminals who volunteer in exchange for reduced sentences?)

I dont like the idea of testing on animals but i dont think we should test on people either. If there are ways to test for things without using animals or humans that would be great!

Animals shouldnt be tested on. I mean, everyone has a right. In the United States, theres such thing as Freedom Of Speech. But theres one problem, there is some citizens in the US that arent able to speak. And those are the animals. Animals have feelings just as humans. We are always saying "we are the smartest things on earth" that actually might not be true. we are smart for humans. Animals were here before humans. They could have easily destroyed all humans when we first came. But they obviously didnt. Why is that? Because they are smarter then we think. Have you ever seen the movie Legally Blonde 2? Its all about a woman that tries to stop testing on animals. and she makes some very strong points. Imagine, your in a loving caring family, or at least thats what you thought. Then all of a sudden, they give you to strangers, in a strange place, and you have no sense of the world outside. Then, you are shoved in a cage all day, and only brough out to be poked, and prodded, given test after test after test. then after your really tired, you are shoved back in the cage. Thats your live every day, until the day that you die. If i was in that situation, i would try to speak up. and many animals probably think that. But they cant. Which is really the problem here. We need to find a way to spread the word of this to people, and make them think this. But, the problem is, how.

They are just another human being, being a criminal or not. but i can see your point of view.

Animal testing is wrong and sometimes leads to bad information. Animals are not humans. So they arent going to react the same as if a human would.

I do not agree or disagree with animal testing.
Makeup and uneccesary cosmetics: no animal testing.
Medicines and household cleaners: yes and maybe.
Think about it.
Would you want to take something that no one has any idea if it'll kill you?
Or use a household cleaner around a child?
A company uses dogs for animal testing.
They produce household cleaners.
This company takes dogs that are set to be uthenized [for those who don't know/ simpler terms: put to sleep] from pounds to do there testing.
So why not benifiet the human race with a dog set to die anyway?
Medicines: YES! [as long as the aniomal is as described above]
Why give someone the cure for cancer if the cure kills them? [case in point]
OFF TOPIC-ISH:
Why does no one complain for a mosquito's rights but they do for a sewer rat?
I guess the way to stop/slow animal testing is to buy only non-animal tested prouducts that are at least 95% natural.
MORE INFO:
If they test on pigs, they usually get the same reaction as humans.
Humans and pigs are so similar that we might as well as been...evolved from them.

The govenment tests on animals instead of prisoners or other people because they can be sued if a person dies or gets sick, but not an animal.

Animal testing is horrid. They can't communicate to express the reactions they are having and we all know animals have feeling.
I am all for the new movement that volunteers are paided to test new medicines for whatever disease they have. Also, to offer prisoners six months to their entire sentence dropped according to the type of testing they submit themselves to i.e. a murderer or rapist could have their sentence dropped to have the brain testing they currently do on cats or the clorox in the eyes done on rabbits.

I agree, we should not be testing on animals. What did they do to deserve it? Yeah, Sure, some animals attack but it is usually because we invade there terratory. If we want our products shouldn't we test on humans to see how it affects humans. I mean, why kill animals when humans are over populating the earth? Animals have just as much feelings as humans.

Well, we have other options. I mean, after the animal tests, they have to make other tests that don't involve animals just because they have an organism different from the humans, so the results of animal tests are not reliable.
We have other alternatives. Beside the in-vitro tests... Why don't we use human volunteers? That way, we wouldn't risk the life and health of a being that doesn't want to be there.
The thing that shocks me the most about animal tests is that they're used just because. Okay, I can't be sure of it, but I've heard in PETA that the Mars company tests its candies on animals. How cruel is that?

I feel about it the same way i feel about hunting. It doesnt benifit the hurt party in any way so its wrong. you wanna test it be your own guinea pig and leave the real ones in peace
