I agree with everyone who says that they would be up for any challenge. How else are you supposed to grow as an artist if you don't step outside your comfort zone?
I just prefer not to draw somethings. With gaia commissions, I'd rather stick with stuff that's not too far out of my comfort zone, just because I don't really want to go through that frustration. Call it laziness if you want.
The only thing I really refuse to draw is hardcore porn.

URGH.
What I normally don't draw is mecha, backgrounds, anthro, and clutter.
D: Mecha is so hard, I can never get the shine right or the lines aren't straight. ; ___ ; I'll try again, but not anytime soon.
Backgrounds kill me. xD Although, I am going to attempt them again. C:
Anthro, I've only ever done one before and it didn't turn out too back. :O
But I still think it's weird to have fur on the face and arms and whatnot. D:
CLUTTER KILLS ME. POINT.
Armor? I've never tried that. LOL. xDD
And I will never draw anything ecchi or yaoi or yuri. SORRY. Not a huge fan. Maybe some minor shonen-ai/shojo-ai, but nothing above that.

Hmm... I wouldn't ever draw...
Cars. I never ever want to draw a car. And that goes for any big machinery. Mecha's included.
Also, I will never draw a furry. That's a big no-no because I hate them.
I don't like facial hair, either.
As for old people, I've just never tried. I'm sure I'll have to at some point in my life. Just not yet. They look fun to draw, though xD
Also, OP... I think you did a really good job with the armor, actually xD
I was really into drawing armor back when I was in 7th grade. I was obsessed with Magic Knight Rayearth so, I would copy the way CLAMP did armor and it was pretty easy.

Anything can be drawn with reference... xD Tho, the reason I think that most people won't draw mecha/anthro/etc (OR HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ORDERING IT) is because it's a time vs. effort issue. Why should you have to try harder on an incredibly difficult order, when you can get the same exact amount of gold for something simpler/easier?
Some people see commissions as practice work. I see commissions as a way to garner golds to buy more art. xD If I wanted to practice, I'd go into the freebies and offer my services, or I'd draw my own OCs >3> -finds drawing for other people a chore-
PS, I agree with the post above my head. That's very nice armour.

I love drawing armour and complex weapons, but I never get any orders for them crying Probably cuz I don't have any samples of that kind of thing in my gallery. sweatdrop
But with good refs I'd draw weapons/armour and mecha heart
But not anthro and old ppl. I like drawing things I think is cool or pretty, I just don't fance any of those.

ohh man... I have super long won't-do lists, and the aggravating thing is that I wish I could do all of it... I just can't, not now at least... I wish I could push myself more to be able to do them, but it never works out sweatdrop
other artists that I love do them so well and have no trouble with them while I can't even begin to think of how to draw it... ugh it really makes me feel like a bad artist.
