My favorite? Probably don't really have any single one, but series that I read are usually as follows:
Stuff by CLAMP (Angelic Layer, Card Captor Sakura, etc.)
Stuff by Peach Pit (Rozen Maiden, Zombie Loan, DearS)
Fruits Basket (I thought it was entertaining.)
Angel Densetsu (artwork is pretty rough, but it's funny.)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (who doesn't read this one? Seriously. It's awesome.)

And then of course there are the ones that I won't name because I'm afraid it would emasculate me in some fashion.
As opposed to Card Captor Sakura or Fruits Basket? wink

Teehee, indeed. Ya might as well go all out Erv! Shoujo manga is awesome so it's all good.

Well, it's not completely just about the type, it's the amount that I read that bothers me. Maybe I'm just a closet romantic or something.

My (male) friend only likes to watch very... unmanly anime. Like Card Captor Sakura, Gakuen Alice, Ouran High School Host Club, Lucky Star, etc. And he watches a lot of it. ^^;

...he is a romantic. Not even a closet one. razz

When I need to indulge in something romantic....Fushigi Yuugi.... heart
There's juuuust enough fight scenes and battles to balance out the romance. That and Ouran High School Host Club. whee Mostly I like manga that has a lot of action and fighting, but Fushigi Yuugi is a great action/romance and Host Club is an awesom comedy/romance.

On a side note, I like it when there's romance in any series, but it's usually other things that draw me in first. Like...I love the epic battles in RG VEDA, and the relationship between Yasha and Ashura is like the icing on the cake 4laugh Makes it perfect.

I read a lot of different genres, so whether or not I like the romance depends on what I'm reading. For example, romance is really nice in Video Girl AI. On the other hand any romance at all in Prince of Tennis would drive me nuts. (Prince of Tennis has no plot! It's just people playing ridiculous tennis and somehow exploding things with their tennis power! That's why I love it. razz )

I like anime a bit more than manga for its convenience, so I don't read as many as I watch. Plus I follow a lot of online comics.

I have read and enjoyed:

Berserk (falling a bit behind, but still reading)
D.N. Angel (see above comment)
Full Metal Panic (finished)
Destiny's Hand (hard to find Vol 2 & 3)
AOI House (finished)
Hollow Fields (one volume left to find)
Last Hope (only 2 volumes-unfinished series)
Kingdom Hearts (I like cute art)
Azumanga Daioh (bah, I can't spell this one right)
Scrapped Princess (finished, it's only 3 volumes)
Gaba Kawa (finished, only 1 volume)
The Third (still hunting down the latest volume)

Anything CLAMP is at the top of my list. The Clamp universe gets complicated, especially if you read Tsubasa but pretty pictures + complexity = win for me. I actually have some of the hard to find Clover books, one in Japanese thanks to a kind friend.
I've read Chobits, Clover, most of Card Captor Sakura, working on Tsubasa and I watch Angelic Layer.

I enjoyed:
Dramacon
Alice 19th
Rave Master {My brother's favorite, I even enjoyed seeing the artwork get better over time. I have to go read FairyTale now.}

I'm liking but have to finish:
Rurouni Kenshin {I saw 99% of the anime, a little bloody but good}
Red River {More historic fiction}
Fruitsbasket {which I have to go borrow from my obsessed friend}
Return to the Labyrinth {isn't too too bad}
The Dark Crystal {is looking promising}
.//Hack (there are a bunch I haven't gotten to some of the newest ones and at least one set completely changes the story line of another so I won't read that one)

I've read a few Tenchi's
And I picked up a couple Zoids Chaotic Century manga somewhere too, they existed, not that I can find anymore.

I'm actually not that Manga/Anime obsessed eek

crying It also makes me sad that Zombie Powder has no conclusion. I really REALLY like Gamma and the story had some promise. Maybe he'll go back to it after Bleach? *crosses fingers*

I love reading manga with tricks and deception in it - manga that took the mangaka a long time to think about and has a lot of intelligence involved. Even though sometimes all the tricks make my head spin, I still enjoy them very much. Examples are DEATH NOTE, Detective Conan (both obvious choices), and Liar Game, which isn't very popular yet and has no anime, but the time and effort put into it really shows through. All three are incredible.

For some reason, I enjoy reading NHK ni Yokoso. It's doesn't fall into the above category, but it's very good.

I enjoyed the Death Note manga.

Now I just need to get around to watchign the anime.

Other than that, I actually don't read much manga. Read a few chapters of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, but couldn't find all of it. Sticking to the anime for that one.
