my thoughts on near? well, i made an anime character once who had near's hair(before i knew him) and my friends were like 'if u took off his glasses he'd look like near!' after awhile, i got so pissed i finally looked him up. i almost died. he looked almost exactly like L! i never hated near. i think he's an awesome addition to the death note series and should be recognized for it. though one thing he will never accomplish is replacing L.

On a different note, did anyone else find Near extremely suspicious? If anything, he reminded me of Beyond Birthday.

When I first saw Near, I thought that he was cute. But, I was still ticked off about L's death. I had almost stopped watching the series, actually. But, I sort of liked Near, but I didn't think he could ever be like L. I thought that Near made a much better heir then Mello would have. But, I like Near. He's cute, and smart. But, no one can top L. ^^

i always liked Near, though L is my fave character, but Near is my next one. I have never seen him as the one that wants to take L's place, in fact, if you've read the manga he says:''I knew I would never be like L(or better than L,I can't clearly remember). So, this means, I have no problem with Near. Go Near!! blaugh

Near kind of bugged me... Really didnt not like him. but his presents just annoyed me. But I knew he could never replace L!
I really liked mellow and matt though, they're so coote together!

I never really liked near. He was annoying. L, Mello and Matt were all better.

I think Near is his own person so you can't really call him a replacement L. He was based off L but that's about it. L will always be my favorite (obviously) but Near comes second. Near's adorable and he plays with legos. That's just freaking awesome. >_> Lol.

When it first saw him it made me sad because I still missed L and they were trying to replace him. crying I got over it after a while but the series was never the same after L died. emo

I liked Near when I first saw him because he was like a mini L but in time Matt and Mello became my new favs but L still topped them.^^
