I beleive you're here to join the class.

Have you read over all the other posts?

I will be posting more on Wednesday or Thursday.

Be sure to study carefully over what we've gone through.
This goes for everyone.

Do we need to memorize all of the Hiragana?

Also, everyone should write down all of the Hiragana 10x each.

BUT, first you should wait until I post all of the stroke orders and I can give you little stories along with them to help you remember them more easily. My sensei gave us the little stories and I find them to be very helpful.

That would help..... 3nodding

BOWING~

Beggining of class.
Okay, to start off, when you are in a Japanese classroom every morning your sensei would say "Kiritsu" (Kilits). Remember that the 'ri' would be prounounced as 'li' and I beleive it's like a roll of the tongue--a mix of 'r' and 'l' put together but with more of the 'l' sound. Kiritsu means stand. Everybody will stand up at the same time. Then your sensei will say "Kiotsuke" (Kiotskay) which means to prepare to bow. When you do this, you stand up straight and put you hands at your side. Then your sensei will say "Rei" and this means that you bow. You do not bow with your hands at your side. You move your hands together at the same time you are gowing down to bow. Do not lock your fingers. You have the back of your hands (not the palms) facing the person you're bowing to and your right hand is in front of your left, cupping over it. Generally after you bow, your sensei will say "Ohiyo Gozaimasu" (Ohayo Gozaeemas) and you repeat them [it means good morning]. Also for other times of the day, you would say Konnichiwa [good afternoon] or Konbahwa [good evening]. Then when your sensei says "Chakuseki" (Chakuski), they are telling you to sit down and once everyone is sitting, the lesson begins.

Okay, now for a little practice for the first person who gets in here to read this.

Scenario~
You're walking to the super market on a Saturday evening and you see your teacher on the way there. How do you greet him/her?

Would you bow and then say Konbahwa because it is the evening!

Watakushi?

Do you mean Watashi?

*adds you to the list*
onajikoto da.

Watakushi is a formality of watashi.

By the way, you may want to watch your romaji in your first post; you have made several errors in it. "ohiyo gozaimasu" should be "ohayo gozaimasu" "ohiyo" would mean you'd pronounce it "o-hee-yo"
