Mirin looked at the pair fighting to the death for no apparrent reason.
She looked at the otter.
She looked at the rat.
She looked in her belt pouch.
"Hey..." she said, trying to pacify the two. "Why don't we, umm, settle this over a few candied chestnuts? Mkay? Mkay." Mirin thrust a pawful of the sweet nuts into the paws of the beasts. "Now," she said, sitting down, "Whyaryeh trying to kill Cinderclaw?"
