xCHIBIKATx His election was the result of sheep.Young people were really drawn to him because he made some pretty speeches.It sickens me really stressed , during the election a third of my school wore Obama shirts but when I tried to have an intellectual debate they just gave me headlight face sweatdrop Yes, but he only makes pretty speeches when he's reading a teleprompter. Without one he stutters and stammers and is clueless. But I agree that his ability to con people with his charm and ability to read well is a big part of it. Even though I did read his book in order to be informed and knew a lot about his background before the election, I don't think I would have voted for him even if I hadn't known who he really is, because I don't trust people who come across that slick. There is something totally false about that sort of persona. Besides, he had never run anything and didn't even take his senatorial seat seriously, or else he's not half as smart as people say he is, having pushed the wrong button six times! What if he should "push the wrong button" as president? What a thought!

Oops! Forgot to answer the question "What are the legit reasons American voted for Obama?"
I can't think of any "legitimate" reasons for voting for him. His winning was because people who felt entitled were greedy and others thought having a Black president would be cool, so they voted for him without doing their homework regarding his background. For shame!

Obama got elected for three reasons. People didn't want to be called racist, everyone was blaming Bush (When they should have been blaming senators like Obama, Ried and Pelosy), and because he became almost as much of a celebrity as Hannah Montana.

i heard this from a shocking source......to tell u the truth i think it was a scheem i think it has to do with the masons(a secert coorperation) because black people (like me)would believe that OMG A BLACK PREDSIDENT YAY!! would make people vote for him because he was black so as i was saying the masons are these groups of people whom wil kill you for telling u guys stuff like this D: they are a corrpetion that has to do with all rappers,record compienes and presidents these people watch over people (rappers prisidents,etc....) whom are murders that muder people if thy ever reaviled about there coorpetion (aka which is wat jhon f. kenndey did and soon died after his speech ) so basically to wrap this all up i heard this from a source they said obama worked for a company..... i DO however believe he wanted to be prisident but wat heard he worked for this serct cooreaption i dont know if this true but this is wat i heard these people get money off people to me that is why i believe some people are losing there houses,and raiseing taxes,and buget cuts .... I think the biggest reason he got elected was that people were expecting that he would change things. His whole campaign was based on the fact that he wasn't like any president we've had before, he's young, he's black, and he's less professional than normal (I saw a picture of him throwing a snowball at somebody) and he took full advantage of this with his "the change we need" slogan. Plus America just wanted to see a black president, I think people felt that it would make it official that black oppression is over if we had a black president. I should take this time to mention that Hitler was voted in, AFTER he had already tried and failed to take over the government by force, and spent some time in jail because of it. The moral here: people are idiots and can't be trusted to elect a decent leader.

I would never vote for obama. Some kid in my class called me racist for it! obama promised change but where and what is that change? he wouldn't even answer it in the interviews. the man is young but the only experience that he has had in government is the senator thing or whatever he was before his presidency. also from the news I have been watching he has gone on so many vacations that it isn't even funny. I agree the man needs a vacation but not all the time to where it seems like every weekend that he has one. but also people just voted for him because of his race and that is stupid it doesn't matter if he was asian or even blue skinned! the president needs to be a smart, experienced, person, male or female. well that is all i have to say

I voted for Obama because I know who's pocket McCain is in, and I hoped beyond reason that maybe Obama wasn't a corporate tool, too. That and Palin makes me want to stab myself in the face with a rusty screw-driver every time she opens her mouth. And I still haven't forgiven the RNC for ruining Gen. Collin Powell's reputation with the whole weapons of mass destruction BS/all of W's not-so-republican administration.
It didn't work out like I hoped, but to think Obama will destroy America is pretty foolish, none of the 43 inept presidents before him have succeeded in destroying the country so I doubt he'll muster to it. In the mean time we need to realize that these labels of conservative and liberal don't really mean anything and as long as we spend our energies fighting this fake red vs. blue fight, we will continue to be victimized by the true enemies of freedom, the corporate lobbying machine.
