The square was rapidly erupting into chaos as Renais fought countless bandits, his drowen senses enthralled from his joy of bloodshed. He brought his sword up across a mans chest, then quickly jabbed it behind him, impaling another on his sword. "Brisingr!" he cried, 10 glowing orbs appearing around each of his wrists, 5 per wrist. A bandit struck Renais in the shoulder with his club, causing him to drop his sword from reflex. Renais quickly reached out and grabbed the mans hand and sent one of the glowing orbs into the man's body. The man burst into flames, every square inch of his body ablaze with orange flame. The man fell to the ground screaming, praying to the gods so that they may have mercy upon him. Renais summoned his sword back to his hand with a single thought, and the sword returned to him, piercing another bandit in the process. "Renais!?" someone said, "What are you doing here?" He recognized that voice, even though he had only heard it once before. He sent another orb into a bandit, who burst into flames like the first before the woman came into view, her sword dripping with blood. The bandits began to fall back slightly, although there were still some foolish enough to take on the pair. "Not now" he said, felling another bandit with a quick slash to the chest, but in the same moment taking another blow to the shoulder, this time from a sword. His wound began to bleed, the blood falling into the collection already forming on the ground. He pressed his hand to the wound and sent another orb into it. The heat from the orb obeyed his thoughts and cauterized the wound, stemming the flow of blood...

Kethsar's eyes widened, and she sent a quick healing spell at him, stabbing another bandit in the stomache, decapitating another. Finally becoming frustrated, she sent a great wind and all Bandits who were still standing landed in a heap. A binding spell flew from her lips as she walked towards them, picking up a young boy about 7, and asked sharply, "Why are you attacking us, and what happened here!"

The boy quivered slightly, then pointed a shaking finger at Renais. "He attacked my dad, got him across the chest he did!" Renais's eyes shone from under his hood, clearly looking at the child. "Well?" the woman said sharply, glaring over at him. "Self Defense" Renais said, flicking his sword toward a nearby man who was still alive but bleeding badly from a slash across his chest. "Your father?" Renais grumbled, his voice full of malice. Confusion played across the boys face, not sure how to respond. After a long moment, the boy nodded, his eyes tearing up. Renais sent an orb into his sword, which began to glow crimson. Without so much as looking away from the boy, Renais traced the man's wound with the tip of his sword. The ends of the wound were drawn together from the heat of the blade, cauterizing the wound. His sword pulsed crimson for a moment, the blood coating it evaporating. Renais sheathed his sword and dispelled the remaining 6 orbs, his eyes still focused upon the boy and the woman. The woman was still looking at Renais, and Renais at her. Something clicked within his conscious mind and told him that this woman was different from the rest, that she might be one of them, although he believed that the woman probably didn't know it. After all, Renais reasoned, how could she know, she had never seen them...

Kethsar steps towards the man in question. and stares into the face of the dead man "He looks terrified Renais..." she contradicted, his alibi was logical though, these were Bandits, Merciless to anyone but there own. She shook her head, and dropped the man. Looking towards the boy, eyes as cold as Ice. "You've no morals, Bandit. Why is it when a life is foolishly placed out for grabs you look at it if it was intentionally taken for the hell of it?! You may have been blinded by rage, but yet you had the conciousness enough to throw all these other lives away. Now the tables have turned, and although there are only two of us, we've managed to cripple you. So say you now, was it really vengance that fueled you to attack, or just stupidity."

Zero watched the precedings with interest but became distracted when another demonic presence appeared in the area.... Zero made a note of this other prescence and resolved to be careful not to reveal himself to it unless necesary. he watched as renais cauterized the mans wound and couldn't help but think that were it him he'd have killed the bay as well and probably hunt some of the bandits who'd run away.

Renais continued to stare at the woman as she shouted at the bandits. As she finished, Renais took a step closer to the woman. "Forgive me, but..." he said, reaching his hand out and grasping her chin. He tilted her head slightly so that her face pointed away from his own. He continued to look into her eyes, looking for any trace of... There, He saw it. A small indentation along the inside of the eye, barley visible to the naked eye. The woman jerked her head from his grasp, raising her sword slightly. There was no doubt about it, she was one of them but was she the one...

grave walked from behind the pile of dead banits, his soine clearly visible, connecting his torso and legs, instead of red, meat, or blood, tshadowy tendrils were coming from the wound, he had an organ in his hand, and ripped another from a bandit, and compared them, as if shopping for something important, then with a swift movemnt, he attached the better one to its missing counter part, he continued this, and, with all the organs in place, he grabs a man of his stature, and, using the mans knife, he cut the skin from his back, using it as his own

Kethsar Jerked out Renais' hold roughly, clearly oblivious to any thoughts. "What Hell are you doing?!" She shouted at him. Frustrated, she shook her head. She brought forth her father's dagger from it's sheath against her back and became prepared for any close attacks. As her nodachi was great for battle, because of it's size, it was nearly useless when it came to one on one. "You trying to get yourself killed. I'm a good Mage, but any one of these people could have the magic to rip there binds and do a suicide spell, killing us all!"
Turning towards the newcomer, Grave,"are you shopping for a new liver or something!?"

Renais chuckled at the thought of a mere bandit breaking Kethsar's binding spell. -He closed his eyes, delving into a pensive state. After a moment, he opened his eyes, staring back at Kethsar. "Does the word Valtes mean anything to you?" Renais said, putting emphasis on the word Valtes. Annoyance flashed across her face, followed by confusion, then what appeared to be understanding. Movement flashed up on the roof tops for a slip second, then it was gone. Renais knew someone had been there moments before, but who it had been, he didn't know. He cautiously placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, listening closely for anything suspicious...

he chuckled at her comment on his rather wierd display, then glared at renais with utter contempt, actually, no, one of the most grotesque creatures i have ever seen devoured my organs, and being under my curse, i do not have the ability to regenerate" jostling his organs about, making sure hed be comfortable before sealing the skin, he then continued " also, i became fatigued, which is nearly impossible, for i am dead.... so, how is this so, renais..." saying the latter name with hatred, for he hadnt given grave a destination.

Kethsar thought about it puzzled, almost 300 years had gone by without ridicule of her father's parentage. The Valtes Tribesmen of the eastern village. The best warriors until their sudden demise, a revolt smashed their village to pieces, many survived, but spread out among the people. Her father was one of them, a strong figure of good on the government, asked by chief Larguna, the predessore of the present cheif, to represent them in the Wars. That was the last time any nmention of Valtes had been a direct effect on her. Since then, she'd been burdened by the corrupt in her village, they raged with revenge, and none but her had been accepted into the temple for training, all too tainted by the ways of man.
Kethsar nodded a bit, but turned to grave and said, "then why'd you let the damn thing eat you!?"

Renais tapped his foot impatiently as Kethsar racked her brain for possible answers, although there were many answers that could be correct. However, Renais had a hunch that the world as they knew it was about to come crashing down and that a sequence of events had been set into motion that could not be stopped. He remembered the hymn his master had once taught him, foretelling the arrival of the Razgriz. The Hymne stated that when history was about to witness a great change, Razgriz reviled itself as a demon. As a demon it would reign death upon the land, despair and destruction lying in its wake...

Kethsar blinked at Renais, obiviously confused, "... I only know little of my father's people, Renais..."
Kethsar turned from him to grave looking at the "thing" that held it's self together with magic, and grimanced, "A Shadow Demon you say, Where?"

Renais sighed and shook his head, slightly disappointed. "Then you are not the one of which I seek, although you may be a useful ally in the time to come. The winds have shifted, ill tidings lingering in the breeze. Dark times are quickly approaching, and I fear that many of this realm may not survive" he said, his head low and his voice full of sorrow. He looked up again and saw another flash of movement on the roof tops, but again, only for a split second...
