**Did you really all just diss PotO? i so hope that's yer characters speaking and not you... And the Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story was our show last year. Trumpets, I don't see yer character on the list, are you there?** David motioned to let the girl leave the note on his podium. He didn't really mind the students being late the first few days. He continued to write down the tally's.

TrumpetsRawkMySocks Lyra quietly opened the door and walked in. She winced a little, realizing how late she was. She mumbled something to herself about stupid math classes. Especially Calculus. Who else would have a quiz the day back!?
She walked up to the new band director (well, at least he would be nice to look at if she ever got bored) and handed him the note. "Sorry, sir, didn't want to be late, but I would like to blame my calculus class."
Glancing up at the board, she noticed the votes and added, "I vote for Anastasia as well."
That said, she got her mouthpiece and her silver Bach Omega (affectionately named Jay) and sat in her seat. She rested her chin on the curve of the bell pipe and looked at him expectantly. Please don't reply before your character is posted. It's just rude. This is strike one, please don't make me give you another one. cry

((Well, I am now. ^^;; Sorry, didn't realize my profile wasn't up before I posted. ^^;; And I played PotO as my sophomore show. I loved the music, but we definitely needed more choreography. surprised ))
Lyra thought that Mr. Carpenter seemed pretty laid back right now. She wondered if that meant he would be laid back about everything. Or just until the students got him mad.
She frowned for a moment, then just as quickly changed it into a small smirk.
Those types of teachers were the most interesting.

Micheal Seth Adrian Seth tore a piece of paper out of his notebook and scribbled “Couldn't hurt to ask right? This guy's going to be tons of fun. He's got so much personality and is so full of life.” He crumpled up the sheet of paper, and pretending to yawn, he tossed it backward toward Addie. Hearing Nate vote with him he grinned and said, "Here here!"

Seeing the actions of Seth, Lyra couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes. She vaguely wondered if Mr. Carpenter would notice the antics of Seth. The boy could be so utterly transparent sometimes.

ddie felt the paper hit her leg and fall of to the side, and didn't bother hiding the note when she picked it up. BD's never payed attention to the Percussion section, even when they were playing. Reading it with a growing smile, Addie wrote back. "Sounds like Marching Season's gonna be a bore. But at least he's not completely evil." Addie aimed and tossed, getting the paper ball between two of the tuba chairs in front of her and rolling down the trombone line till it bumped Seth's shoe and stopped.

((Gah! Kari's the youngest still ><))
You'd have to be kinda of blind to not see that note being passed either. At least, Kari could see it, and she was all the way on the end. And Mr. Carpenter was standing in front, looking at everyone. Then again, he didn't seem that POed about kids coming in late...so maybe he'd deal with note passing as well.

Katherine opened the door to the practice room with her Mellophone in hand. She lookd around to see a lot more people then expect. Her eyes widened as she looked at the clock and relized she had been practicing longer than she thought. "Uh oh." she said in a hushed voice. Then quickly rushed to her seat. she looked on the board and notice a poll. She raised her hand quickly and blurted the one that caught fancey the most. "I choose phantom of the Opera!".

Is this band director really that blind? That note is rolling down the line of trombones. You'd have to be blind not to notice that. Looking across the bandroom Nate notices her. The girl he has basically been crushing on since freshman year. Amy. Oh well If Seth and Addie could get away with throwing notes, maybe he could to. Writing the words "Would you like to hang out sometime?" on a notebook paper he sent it across the room. Thank god she sat close.

Something hit Amy in the leg. She looked down to find a crumpled paper then turned angrily to glair at Seth and Addie. She guessed it was their note that hit her. But when she bent to pick it up and read it any way she recognized the handwriting as Nate's. They had been stand partners for a few songs the previous year when she played Tuba for symphonic and knew his hand writing from the notes he had made on the music. That and they had biology together freshmen year. She was kinda confused and looked up, out of the corner of her eye to find him watching her, but not really. The way people do when they try to be sneaky. She smiled slightly, reaching for the pencil on her stand. She was nearly positive that she had kept her feelings towards him a secret but, never the less, she wouldn't deny a chance to hang with him. She wrote the words "I'd love to. When are you free?" below his question, crumpled it, tried to scoot closer to him *She didn't have a good throwing arm* and tossed it back.

The paper hit Nate's leg with a small thunk. He liked her and a few people knew that, but did she? Picking up the paper and reading what it said his heart skipped a beat. Amy said yes. Writing back he answered her question with another, "When would you like to hang out?" and walking to get a drink of water from the fountain, dropped it by Amy with a smile.

She couldn't help but smile back as a lock of hair fell in front of her eyes. She opened it and shook her head. She tapped her pencil against her foot and wrote: "I'm free after class. Or tomorrow. Or lunch." She didn't want to sound desperate but, let's face it, she kinda was. He was pretty much the only guy she liked and other people thought it was weird that she hadn't really been dating anyone yet. Because of her looks she had, of course, had plenty of people ask her out but nobody had been right enough for her to say yes to. Except him.

Lyra had to restrain herself from groaning aloud. When would Mr. Carpenter say something? She was getting slightly annoyed by all of the paper flying around the room. It was an odd pet peeve, but a pet peeve it was.
She decided to distract herself by trying to count the number of holes in the ceiling tiles from previous years. Throwing the baton in the ceiling was always fun for her.
She gave Nate an absent-minded grin as he walked past her towards the water fountain. She didn't want to seem like a total brat, but that math test had really annoyed her. Unless she could play or do something soon, she was liable to blow up. And that was never pretty.

Noticing the paper on the floor Nate instantly scooped it up and walked back to his seat. Reading it he chuckled slightly and wrote a few things down "Today is fine. (612) 555-1309 Call or text me. well work out details later." Seeing as he couldn't fake the water thing again, Nate rolled the ball back to her, turning red in the process. Her hair looked cute in front of her face.

The note passing certainly was something to worry about. Not that Kari really cared about it, or anything. Since no one was actually really paying attention to the band director, anymore, Kari decided to entertain herself in other ways. She raised her hand, but spoke before she was called on. "Do you think it would be possible to give the Color Guard Kazoos, this year? Mrs Cooper wouldn't do it, last season..." This was actually a valid question, because Kari had always thought it would have been cool. She was perfectly serious when she asked this.
