Noirkaze So I get to see the local Philharmonic preform tomorrow night. I'm kind of excited. Nothing like having free tickets to a local event provided for working extra hours Anyone know how to deal with family who are doing you a "favor" and still charging you the full amount? Oooh sounds exciting As for the family, I would just pass on the offer if it's the full amount. Go to a vendor- if it's the same price it won't cost you more, but mentally you'll feel less resentment. I am currently in HULK mode. I found out I'm not going to get holiday pay for working Thanksgiving due to a loophole. Last year I worked Christmas without holiday pay also due to a loophole. It pisses me OFF.

What's with all the winter bashing, hey what? I love winter. I love snow. Cold weather makes me feel distinctly and absolutely awake and alive.
To each their own, though.
I started NaNoWriMo, but I don't think I'm going to make it to 50,000 this year. I've been busy with other things, and I've got other projects that I'd rather be working on. I've got more motivation to work on something I'm actually interested in and interested in making well than in the word count extravaganza of NaNoWriMo. I'll probably keep poking at it, but I doubt I'll meet that goal. Watch out next year, though!

I am pretty busy at work - just came home from a 12 hour day (I only get paid for 8, no over time) and how do they repay me? With a letter saying that they've incorrectly paid my superannuation and that I owe $760.99 and that much per quarter from now on. In other words, I just got a pay cut of around $3000 a year. It would have been nice to have known this BEFORE I got my second mortgage.

My poor cat has been in a fight too - I have just shaved and cleaned his wound, but I'm sure it needs stitches.
*sighs* Here comes another vet bill.
On a happier note, my boss was asking me if I wanted to apply for a promotion - I said yes of course! I don't think he was expecting me to want one so soon (I've only been at my current work since the start of the year), but I think I need the promotion to get the kind of work that I'm interested in (plus considering my finances at the moment, a little extra pay wouldn't hurt!)
