[[Sorry...My internet died and I was looking for a wi-fi hotpot to hook up to. But I'm sorry I've been gone for so long.]]

Going out to eat. I wonder where she's having lunch? Wes didn't bother to ask that question. He worked at an Olive Garden and he was perhaps the youngest worker there. Wes sighed, "Well, Congrats...whatever you're celebrating." He leaned back on the chair and stared up at the bored, wondering when the bell would ring.

((No worries :] I'm ringing the bell in the next few posts))

Elyssa chuckled slightly, "Yeah. Thanks." She jotted down the rest of the notes and absently tapped her pencil on the desk. She was anxious to get the hell out of that class. The girl's mind began to drift off to the past few years - heaven. She loved living with the Sander's family and she couldn't believe her luck to have been picked by them.

((wow...sorry for that epically shitty post xD))

[Okay, Wobin, it's time for me to make my announcement. On July 7th, I'm leaving for 20 days, effectively until the end of the month. During that time, I will have no computer access, and I need to know how that will affect the roleplay. D: More specifically, if I can get away with staying with the RP...]

Emily grinned a bit in return, having a feeling that, though he wasn't showing it, Max was surprised she hadn't berated him. Honestly, she wasn't about to start criticizing someone else's way of handling things, especially since she had seen him be a 'good student' in other classes in the past. If he wanted to be 'bad', she certainly wasn't going to stop him, providing that he didn't get her into it. "I haven't seen much of his work yet. If he's as good as you say, I may have to get him to let me see some more of his sketches." The grin widened a bit as she spoke softly, then glanced back at the board (Haha, definitely typed 'bored'...) to see that Mr. Gaston seemed to be winding down with his notes, which either meant the class was closer to ending... or there was a worksheet coming, or something similar. She was actually hoping for the first, along with only a bit of homework.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 12:30 pm

((I won't kick you out xD I don't want to put the RP on hold that long, but I can take over emily if you want? Or if you can find someone else too? Chances are in the 20 days we won't get more than a day or so further in the RP, maybe she can go on a Day Trip with her family?))

Elyssa had vaguely began to follow the conversation occurring on her left between Max and Emily. It was hard to hear them, but apparently they were talking about Nate's drawing. Jotting down what appeared to be the last of Gaston's notes for the day, she leaned her head down and rubbed her eyes carefully so as not to disturb her makeup. She wanted a nap. Sitting up so she wouldn't get busted, Elyssa groaned inwardly as she saw Gaston take out a stack of work sheets.
"Alright, you guys should have just enough time to finish this worksheet. Your homework is on the board. It won't take long, it's pretty easy, provided you were attentive in class." He said the last bit in an even voice and shot a glance at Max. Seeing this Elyssa let out a very suppressed laugh, both hands quickly flying to her mouth to stifle the noise as she looked down, shaking in almost silent laughter.

[I was thinking of her either getting sick, or injured, actually. ninja Injured would be more fun, 'cause I could play a character in a cast, and Max could dote... biggrin ]

Sure enough, the notes ended and Mr. Gaston started handing out a worksheet. As it reached her, she saw that, true to his word, it didn't seem to be that difficult. After passing the remainder of the sheets behind her, she idly started working on the first problem, at the same time glancing briefly over at Max. She certainly hadn't missed the look that the teacher had given him, and she didn't want him to not be able to do it, on the off chance that he hadn't simply gotten the info by half-listening to the class. A different noise caught her attention as she started to work, and she looked to her other side just in time to see Elyssa's hands fly to her face. Apparently, the other girl found the whole situation quite humorous - and her reaction was enough to make Emily giggle quietly. "If you need help, ask," she mentioned to Max when she had calmed down.

((Alright. Haha, sounds fun! xD Do as you please m'dear))

James was growing weary of this. He had been copying some of the notes - perhaps even less of them than Max had been - and loosely listening on the conversations of the friends in front of him. He was flat out bored. The sheet recently placed on his desk could be turned in today or tomorrow, and he really didn't care enough in the first place. Whipping out his cell phone, he typed a message to Sarah Irring: 'I hate this class.'

---

Max looked at the worksheet and shrugged. He might be able to do it, it certainly didn't look to difficult. Passing back the rest of the sheets, he picked up his pencil. Just then, Gaston made his obviously directed comment making Max glance up under his shaggy hair to the man. A wicked grin crossed his face just as Elyssa let out her laugh. He sent a glance her way to tell her to shut it but was soon trying not to laugh himself. "I think I got it, b--" He stopped himself and turned back towards his work quickly. He had been so close to calling her "Babe." Not good...

Sarah pulled out her cell phone. It said "Message from James." She read the message and replied, "I know. Can't wait until lunch." She put her phone back in her pocket and sighed. Government was her worst class. Especially American Government. She looked at Nate. She saw him sketching something. That's pretty good. She scowled at what she had just thought. For an emo kid.

Elyssa had finished a good portion of her worksheet. She could have done more, but her eyes - and her mind - were more focused on the time. Constantly, she pulled out her cell phone to check the time. Class was so close to being over, and she had next period with Nate. She knew constantly looking at the time was only going to make it go slower, but she didn't care. She wanted the hell out of this class! Just as she was about to pull her cell phone out again, Elyssa's ears were met with the wonderful sound of the bell. Class was over.

---

Nate had absently been sketching all class. He wasn't working as quickly as he normally would however, as he was still trying to pay some sort of attention to their teacher, Mr. Morris. He was a nice guy, a great teacher who clearly loved his job, and honestly: Nate felt bad when he wasn't putting forth an honest effort in Morris's class. Smudging another line, he leaned back and sighed, wanting out of the class all the same. No matter how much he enjoyed Mr. Morris as a teacher, that didn't change the fact that he still hated the class. Adding a line or two to his notes, Nate took another glance at the picture and tilted his head, trying to figure out what else it needed. But suddenly, it didn't matter anymore as the sound of the bell sliced through his thoughts.

---

James read Sarah's reply and put the phone away. He couldn't wait until lunch either, these first two periods really sucked. All the same, he was ready to get out of Algebra. The sooner that happened, the sooner he did get to lunch to hang out with his friends instead of have to sit behind these freaks. He glanced around for a while and then decided he might as well start working, yet no sooner had he begun to write out his work to figure out the first problem, the bell rang.

---

Max took it for granted that Emily hadn't heard his blunder. He'd stopped himself pretty quickly so chances are she had no idea. Which was good. Very good. What would she had said or done? Running a hand through his hair he closed his eyes and tried to think it all out rationally. She'd probably have assumed that he was joking around - after all, calling a girl "babe" was a very Nate-like thing to do, and God knew he'd hung around Nate so much he had picked up some of his habits - they were best friends after all. Nodding, he cooled out and kept working on the paper. It really wasn't that hard, and while he might not finish it before the bell (like he was sure Emily would manage to do), he knew that he would have no problem finishing it that night. With a few more problems to spare, the bell rang and Max smiled a satisfied grin.

The bell rang and Sarah groaned. Nothing but memorizing the Periodic Table. Sarah shuddered at the thought. She compared her first two periods. Chemistry's almost as bad as Government. Almost. As she walked, she daydreamed about all the good things the school had to offer: Lunch, hot guys (especially one in particular), and basketball.

[Aall right, today's the day! I poof in, oh, two hours or so, and I won't be home until the 26th - 27th. Time to create some sort of injury... I'm thinking stairwell. Hope this works for everyone! Bye!]

Just as Max thought, Emily hadn't caught the word that he had started to say. Of course, she wasn't often - or, at all - called things like 'babe', so it wasn't as if she was listening for it. "Alright," she nodded, glancing back at her own worksheet. It was easy enough, and while she didn't necessarily breeze through it, she did manage to finish the last problem just as the bell decided to ring.

The expression on her face showed that even Emily was glad that the period was over. It was time to move on to the next class - another one with Max, she reflected pleasantly.

Oh, that reminded her. "Hey Max," she called, knowing by this point that he'd probably want to say to Nate and such before heading to Chemistry, "I'm going to head right to Chem... I have to talk to the teacher before class." She waited just a moment, then gave him a smile and headed out the door. She hoped he didn't mind.

Her math class was on the first floor, while the science wing was on the second, so she headed immediately to the nearest stairwell. She disliked how crowded they got at times, always feeling that she was going to fall at the wrong moment... But nothing had happened yet. Still, there was the entire year to go, and she wasn't known for being the most graceful person on the planet.

Today's stair crowd didn't seem too bad today. Maybe it was because she wasn't hanging around with everyone else until passing was almost over... She quickly started up the stairs, one hand wrapped around the few books she didn't keep in her backpack, while the other lightly gripped the railing. Just in case.

Yes, it was definitely easier when there weren't so many people. She reflected on this for just a moment, but then her thoughts went back to the group that was likely meeting up by this point. It was always fun hanging around with them, and it was a shame that she really did have to go talk to her teacher, but it wasn't the end of the world. It was only one period, after all-

Her attention wandering, she missed the kid that was barreling down the staircase, probably rushing off to wherever his next class was. "Outta the way!" he called - a bit too late to actually be able to move, she recalled later - and his arm knocked into hers, the one carrying the books. The kid was quickly down the stairs and down the hall, leaving her to stumble to the next step, dropping her books along the way.

If she hadn't started to focus on picking up her books - and if the kid wasn't already out of hearing range - she would have called after him to watch where he was going. "Not that it'd do any good," she mumbled with a sigh, reaching down to grab a textbook.

Another kid chose that moment to come rushing down the stairs. A better look at this guy showed that he was angry, which probably meant that he was after the kid who had rushed off first. Emily ducked down this time in order to get out of the way, but didn't account for misstepping on the way down. Before the kid made it to the hallway, she slipped and tumbled back down the few steps that she had managed to climb before the 'chaos'. Hearing the commotion, he turned back, angry look switching into surprise.

"Are you alright?" he quickly asked, abandoning his quest of finding the other boy to help her up, grabbing one of her books as he came closer.

"Y-yeah, I think... Ow." She let what she was originally saying drop upon feeling the twinge in her elbow. Further investigation showed even more pain upon moving it.

"You'd better get to the nurse," the kid advised, grabbing the rest of the books quickly. "Here, I'll carry these. Come on, it's this way."

As Sarah walked to her next class, she saw a girl that had a look of pain on her face. She was uncharacteristically about to help, but then she saw the other kid standing with her. Oh. It's that Emily girl. But as much as she despised Emily, she couldn't stand to see anyone in pain.

She went up to Emily, looked around to make sure no one was watching, and whispered, "Are you okay?"

Sarah chuckled at the confused expression that replaced the pain on Emily's face. It screamed, "You're a popular junior. I'm not. Why would you care anything about me?"

Emily just nodded. Sarah smiled and walked quickly away. Ugh, I'm gonna be late for Chem now. This is the kind of stuff that happens when I try to help people out.

Max looked over at Emily as she said she was going to go ahead without hanging out. He didn't want to admit how much he wished that she would have stayed around, but if she had to talk to her teacher, she had to talk to her teacher. Besides, he had next period with her anyway. Max threw his things into his bag and slung it over his shoulder as Elyssa headed to the door where Nate had already managed to appear. Max quickly caught up with the two and they went to hang around by the door. They moved directly next to the stairwell, their normal meeting place, so as to be out of the way and talked for a while.

Max began to laugh at something Nate said, but suddenly stopped. Emily was coming out of the stairwell and someone was helping her. She didn't look to be in too good a shape either. Just as he was about to step forward, Sarah came up. Max wrinkled his brow, this didn't look good. As soon as it was clear he quickly moved to Emily's side. "Are you okay? Did Sarah do something? What's wrong?" Genuine concern crossed his features as he quickly looked from her to the boy helping her. Who was he?

---

Elyssa gave Emily a silly sort of salute as the girl left the room, sneaking a glance at Max as she, herself, began to put away her things. Emily might not notice, but Elyssa had been Max's friend for a while, and she caught the brief tightening of his jaw when he heard that she wasn't going to stay to hang out between classes. Elyssa looked towards the door and saw Nate giving Emily a brief hello and a hug, making her grin. God how she loved her friends. And Nate. Slinging her bag on her shoulders she went to the door and hugged her boyfriend, feeling a gentle kiss on her cheek. No better place than this.

They waited for Max before quickly moving to the side of the stairwell, avoiding the busy traffic in and out of the archway. "So...Max..." Elyssa said casually, a teasing lilt in her voice. She didn't have to finish, Nate did it for her. Max laughed at the statement and was about to answer when he saw Emily come from the stairwell. As he rushed off to her, she looked at Nate with a raised eyebrow. "He so likes her..."

---

Nate carefully put away his sketchpad and grabbed his things, one of the first out of the door. Quickly and skillfully maneuvering his way down the hallway, he managed to make it just as Emily was leaving the door way. She almost didn't see him but he grabbed her and gave her a hug. "Hey, I guess you're not hanging out. See you at lunch." He said as he let her go. He and Elyssa were hug-a-holic, it was a well-known fact. Just as he turned back towards the door, familiar arms wrapped around his waist.

"Hey, beautiful." He chuckled, kissing his girlfriend's cheek. "Missed ya." They waited a while for max to join them until moving to their normal spot. Elyssa began speaking and he laughed. "Yeah, Max. Emily's really kinda hot isn't she?" He raised an eyebrow and nudged his best friend with his elbow. Max laughed but didn't get a chance to respond. "Oh, hell yes he does." Nate chuckled and called out the Max. "Hey, man, we're heading to class. See you at lunch!" Him and Elyssa began to head downstairs to the basement for their English class.

---

James tossed his things in his bag without any sense of organization. As he left the class he was careful to avoid Elyssa and her emo of a boyfriend. Uriah following closely behind. They sat on opposite sides of the classroom so it made it difficult to talk, but next period they were right next to each other. "Dude, what is Sarah doing?" He asked, tapping his friend on the shoulder and pointing to Sarah who was talking to Emily, just emerging from the stairwell. From the looks of things, Emily had taken a tumble down the steps.

Looking closely as Sarah walked away, James watched Max move towards the girl. Did he...like her? Oh this could be funny. He hadn't noticed it before, because he hadn't bothered to pay attention to them. But now it did seem a little obvious. No doubt Sarah could find something out, she's always been able to stay in tune to the latest gossip. He'd have to ask her later.

Wes walked slowly to Chemistry, knowing that there was no point in hanging out with the other students. No one wants to hang out with a nerd. Wes took the first open seat in chemistry and placed his head on the desk. Man, I hate my life.
