Hihi ^^

I want to join, defiantly. If it's alright with you all, of course. I don't know if my literacy will meet the standards, but meh'...

Just so it's known, I'm not the type of person who has a problem writing a perfectly good paragraph, I just, always bring myself down thinking I'm not literate enough ._.'

Oh noes at there not being a profile template. I'm going to end up writing too much for it, or too little, I just know it D:

Oh well.

Now I must decide, combat specialist or spellcaster.

Hrmm..

I suppose I should wait for someone else to come and play before I decide, yeah?
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 3:03 pm

I think we have two pairs now so I hope you don't mind that there isn't another available person for a pair yet. >.> Ghlae and Illy are going to be partners and I am reserving myself for the lovely Meta <3

Since we are balanced on spellcasters and warriors I'd just go whatever sounds good. to you. I particularly like spellcasters as (I know I have said this before) I am perfectly inept at spacially understanding melee.

If there is anything I can do to help you brainstorm let me know. I check this forum very frequently....

For those desiring an example of a character profile with a template, here is my character. Please feel free to copy the template or change it to your fitting. If you'd like to use the Kingdom of Itieri feel free... but please let me know if you plan on tying into my character more than being from the same kingdom tho. :3

Mun: Syrenrei
Character Name(s): Y'Deviuna Nyera Eska Sonage
Aliases: "Tempest", "Lady of the Glass Mask"
Age: 21
History: Y'Deviuna is the eighth of nine children born to King T'Polcer of the Kingdom of Itieri. Her eldest sibling, a brother, was already the heir to the throne and many of her siblings (products of the king's first wife who had died in childbirth several years earlier) had already been wed to influential families by the time she was born. The king had no apparent plans for her: she was just an extra. She was another child to strut around with prestige. The Sonage bloodline had laid claim to the throne centuries ago. While her name is unknown, a "purely magical being" wed the first of the Sonage ancestors. She bore him many children who became incredibly potent spellcasters . The kingdom bowed under the impressive magic of this family and the first Sonages were named king and queen. In the current day and age the "purely magical being" is regarded as a being from the heavens and the king and queen rule with divine authority. The current generations have varying amounts of magical aptitudes and some bear unusual hair and eye colors. Y'Deviuna was such a child: she had snow white hair and eyes that palest of blues. If her father had not already promised or wed his daughters to all the families of repute he could have made quite a barter for Y'Deviuna. Her hair and eyes were seen as a strong connection to her magical ancestor.

As the years passed Y'Deviuna grew restless. The king and queen kept her confined except when she was paraded around like a doll. A princess, they argued, was too noble to be left to the devices of the world around her. She needed to be sheltered from anything that might be "unpleasant." While this explanation satisfied her a child, as a teenager it left much to be desired. As teenage rebellion swelled in her so too did some virtuous ideals. She wanted to experience this world they ruled, to see the common folk and how they lived, to feel as they do. Perhaps she was unable to rule, but royalty did she not have an obligation to try to help those who supported her? It was in these emotions that her magic first surfaced. Puberty, in all its glory, had brought forth what had trickled to her down her bloodline. Slowly but surely she could feel magic around her and channel it with her emotions. This gave her a second motivation to leave the palace: in the palace she could not explore her full potential. In the palace she was guarded from "negative" emotions that she might be able to channel potent spells through.

On her fifteenth birthday the princess left the castle on "Wings of Hope." Leaving only a sparse few notes for the few friends and companions she had she escaped her royal shackles. Once outside the walls she disguised herself in two ways: she presented herself with a traveling name of "Tempest" and she started to continuously channel an emotion through her that would keep her hair a black that glistened purple in the sun. Armed with a new identity and disguised she traveled through the lands picking up odd jobs and practicing her magic in secret. Her age made people treat her kindly for the most part and her magic kept others at bay. While she surely had some bad experiences, she to this day only says "their memories give me new emotions and new spells."

The Kingdom of Itieri forgot her eventually. After she had been gone six months her father proclaimed her a betrayer to her birthright and banished. Some of the nobles suspected she left by magical means. This stirred a dangerous air into the court: the king's claim to the throne was through his magical heritage. If this girl was a potent spellcaster, a spellcaster like her ancestors of more divine blood, did that make her more of the rightful heir to the throne? If the princess were to return there could be an uprising that would almost certainly end in either her or her brother's death. Tempest realized she could never go home and would have to indulge the more popular rumor: that she was dead.

Around her eighteenth year she found her way to the Faction and the Roc'Shaar. Seeing the magic she possessed a couple suspected her heritage but none ever spoke of it. The princess, after all, was supposed to be dead... if she ever really had any magic to begin with. For the past three years she has trained under their tutelage. No longer a child she can wield her magic with more control than she could ever have attained on her own...

Personality: Despite a somewhat troubled past, Tempest seems rather well-adjusted on the surface. She is pragmatic, honest, and playful. While she dodges any questions about herself with ease, she doesn't hesitate to give her opinion on any given topic and is rather friendly with others. She refuses to let her form of magic control her life and, for the most part, is successful. Underneath her "glass mask" of normalcy is an undercurrent of pain. Carefully tucked away, Tempest controls the pain by saying it is in the past and of no consequence. All the Roc'Shaar know that many of her spells require her to recall painful memories and how can one forgive and forget that which they relive over and over...? Every night she takes a walk, ride, or flight for an hour to relieve herself of emotions that build up during her training.
Strengths: Compassionate, determined, charismatic
Weaknesses: Self-sacrificing, slightly paranoid, has a hard time forgiving

Physical Appearance:
Tempest has long, waist-length hair that appears black in dim light and shines a deep purple in the sun. Her eyes are an extremely light shade of blue, A few tattoos edge her face below the eyes and above the jaw, curling under her eyes slightly. Shaped something like a curled wave or talon-shaped sword, they serve no apparent purpose. (Picture will be posted later on this). She is slight and unimposing weighing perhaps 125 at 5'7". Because there is no point to her training physically she abstains from it and has no real physical tone to her body except that which she gains on her nightly walks/rides/flights.

Powers: Tempest's magical ability is unusual. Rather than use words or objects to weave or invoke a spell, she channels. Magic for her is something that flows through her and the world around her like wind through the air. Rather than cast a spell, she channels parts of this ever-present stream of magic using her emotions. An emotion of anxiety, for example, channels a haste spell. The more intense of an emotion she can recall or conjure and the more potent the spell. Tempest keeps her face very controlled during her spells: she knows that if her companions knew which spells channeled negative emotions they would be hesitant to use them. Seeing this as an unwanted hinderance, Tempest refuses to name or display in any fashion which emotions correlate to which spells with the exception of "Wings of Hope."

Pairing:
Tempest's companion/pair would know very little about her. While they might know about her favorite color, what she thinks about the afterlife, and who she thinks talks too much, she is very careful to not let even her best of friends know her real identity. At all costs she will preserve her secret, fearing that the more that know she is the princess the greater the chance Itieri will find out and be thrown into chaos.

User Image Okay, I think I am ready whenever you guys are. <3 I finished my pictures! My portrait is to the left and the fullsize with the horrible clothing (I was tired and just wanted it done... also, Ghale suggested red so if it looks atrocious it is entirely his fault) is here.

Just a note: She is not sad. She is concerned. I was trying for something not vacant.

I hope your finals are going well Meta! I look forward to seeing your profile. Yammy, does my example help at all? Do you know what you want to play? >.>

Yeah, it did help. As for what to play, I'm still not sure because I can pull either off..

I'm thinking of waiting for someone esle to come and see what they want to be, because I can do either.

By the way, I love your drawing. I wish I could draw like that.

I think Blue was considering. Maybe she will come play and you can have a partner <3 I have another friend (out of guild) that has expressed some interest when I mentioned this RP, but her time might be limited.

Thank you for the compliment! I am always dissatisfied with my art. I have a mental image and the physical hardly ever comes remotely close to it. The face is a little wide, but I rather like this one. I think it's because she has pretty hair. I wish I had hair that looked so soft and shiny. =(

Updated profile.

Mundane:
Illicit Romance
Character Name:
Skyelis Monvante Guillian Urioga
Age:
Twenty-three (23).

Character Description:
The Sün’Shiir were a warrior race. Proud as they were stubborn, they eventually fought and killed one another to virtual extinction due to an unfortunate blood line trait: The Searing Eye. This bloodlust took over the mind and induced an uncontrollable rage in its victim. The few that survived the bloodshed were among the strongest of the clan, and consequently were the most susceptible to the bloodlust.

Skyelis Monvante Guillian Urioga was one of those few. Wandering his way to the Faction, he was taken in by the Roc’Shaar, who were immediately aware of his ability. Over several years of rigorous and demanding training, Sky was able to suppress his Searing Eye. However, the elite of the Faction knew that if some traumatic event were to tip the delicate balance within him, his mind would buckle under the strains and his curse would be reawakened. The only person able to keep his bloodlust under limited control is his companion, who had trained equally as hard to learn the art of suppression.

Over the years, Skyelis’ dominantly savage nature gave way to a gentle kindness unlike any of his race. Although still rough around the edges, the dormant curse allowed him to take on an entirely new persona. This six foot two twenty-three year old man looked down upon those around him, though never in a condescending way. Standing a foot taller than most any other native, Sky was quite the spectacle. He was muscular, but not bulky. He was sinewy, but not overly so. He was lithe, but a bit clumsy. The most peculiar thing about his person would have to be the eyes and hair he had inherited from the Sün’Shiir. Almost an iridescent violet, the man’s eyes were contrasted by the silvery locks that framed a smooth featured face, his shining tresses barely reaching his shoulders at their longest point. However much these oddities stood out, the most unusual characteristic of the virtual giant was his extremely pallid skin, which seemed almost unreal if one were to stare too long. These three features alone made Skyelis stand out like an Ogre among Elves.

Sky carried only one main weapon on his person: The Blade of Sün’Shiir. This exquisite sword could only be carried by one from his clan, not only because of its eighty pound weight, but also because of an ancient enchantment that prevented any being besides a Sün’Shiir to wield it. Its design was beautiful: A silver pommel inlaid with a diamond shaped amethyst gave way to a black chord wrapped, two-handed grip. This handle birthed a similarly onyx cross hilt which flayed at the ends like the forked tongue of a snake. Rising from this guard like a majestic phoenix reaching nearly six feet in length was a single edged silver blade that came to a graceful curve at its end. The entire weapon closed in on eight feet in length; it was a monster of a blade. Aside from this wonder were a few ordinary concealed weapons: a dagger in his right boot, and a retractable claw. Sky was a close combat specialist, after all.

His partner knew well not to entangle themselves too deeply in a fight. Though kind in nature to most every person, when it came to battle, Skyelis’ fierce tribal spirit comes into play. Rarely was the final blow not struck by the Sün’Shiirian. Supplementary spells generally worked best with him, as it was difficult for even his partner to strike a harmful spell against the opponent.

One last oddity about Sky is his gloves; or glove, rather. Although he generally can be seen with both on, he frequently removes the right in order to complete tasks that require its removal. However, the black leather adorning his mysterious left hand has never been seen removed. Occasionally he can be caught staring at it through glazed eyes, as if trying to recall a long lost memory. No one can say for sure what is underneath the glove; some even say it is not even a hand. One thing is for certain, however: due to his mannerisms, appearance, and such quirks as his glove, hardly a soul can claim to know this enigma that is Skyelis Monvante Guillian Urioga.

Specific Personality:
Although Sky generally leans towards being a nonchalant, peaceful type, he can be incredibly strict and short when it comes to matters of importance, especially training. Holding a no-nonsense policy on such things as lying and deceit, the Sün'Shiir can always be counted on to tell the truth in any situation short of being interrogated. Although sometimes a bit awkward with words and fumbling in speech, Skyelis has come a long way to being rather smooth and precise about his speech and mannerisms. One of his most significant personality flaws remains to be, however, his tendency to hide himself behind a veil of complacency when times get rough.

Weaknesses:
Tactical/strategical matters, emotionally relating, insecurities.
Strengths:
Physical might, easygoing, energetic, dedicated.

Abilities:
The Searing Eye - A virtually uncontrollable bloodlust of sorts. The victim's body is taken over by a savage, primal rage that causes a near unstoppable rampage. The curse's approach can be traced through the eyes, hence the name. Sky's naturally indigo eyes split hues, his left altering to a deep azure color, while his right splits to a bright crimson. The Searing Eye can only be triggered through a considerably traumatic event, comparable to a comrade's death.

Pairing:
Skyelis' companion would work mostly as a supplement due to the Sün'Shiir's tendency to rush into combat with blades drawn. Although he can be a bit unmanageable in combat scenarios, a major concern of his always lies in his partner. However, if his companion were to assert his or her desire to aid beyond simply supplementing, Sky would work around it and compromise in order to form a better team. His ally would most likely also be his closest friend.

Chosen Color:
Indigo.

I am contemplating bribing people who come play with us with art. (This is really rather selfish as I am more interested in people playing with myself than others) Fair warning, though, that I am atrocious (read: HORRIBLE) at drawing men.

No need to bribe, apparently.

Just wait until I start my new and exciting RP! People will be forced to use the OOC thread.

If I ever get it up.

Is Auron here? >.> If so, HAI THERE. I see we have fleshed out our ranks of male characters (providing Meta doesn't end up in the black abyss). I think we still need two women then?

I guess he's not quite here...
But he did make a lovely introduction post in the role play thread!
=D

I just got an application from a female.
Spellcaster, too.
o.<
I won't be able to get to it until later today;
I'm off to take the AP U.S. History exam.

Wish me luck!

*Whoosh!*

I is here!

And yay for a female spellcaster! Are female and male pairings allowed? Cause if so that'd be great. Luthra is a bit lonely at the present moment. xD

And good luck on the History exam. As for me i have to go cut the grass and go to my college and empty out my locker and pick up my artwork and such. I shall be back laterz.

It's definitely allowed seeing as Meta is going to probably make a male combat specialist. >.> We just ended up in these current pairings because we were anxious to get partners and start. Meta wanted to tie into my character, so Illy and Ghale paired. Since we started things have changed, though, and Yammy has become my partner and tied into my past. I kinda like it, though, because I don't have to worry about reasons why Tempest wouldn't consider her partner romantically.
