That's just the thing though. It is hard because what other fuel? What if its not reusable? It'll pollute ridiculously. And soon we'd be out of it anyway. How many alternate fuels do you know. These are the ones I know: Coal; Ethanol. Now I'm no expert on this subject but I know that it's science!!! so I research it and understand it. It isn't as easy as saying "Hey, lets go get that alternate fuel!". There's one important piece missing: "What alternate fuel?"

That's because its not really a website. I just randomly post it when someone or myself macro's. But yeah I noticed that it worked as a link. Sorry if anyone thought that the website would really stop macroing.

Science Infinity That's just the thing though. There's one important piece missing: "What alternate fuel?" *raises hand* ooooh, ooooh, I know, pick me! What about windmills? They don't really pollute, and they produce enough energy to power a whole decent sized town with one windmill farm. You see them all the time in Japan (where they're also 100 times better at recycling, but that's not the point). Or were you talking about gas? Well, with gas, cars can be engineered to run off of vegetable oil instead of oil... And I dunno if this is true or not, but I heard that someone made a car that was powered by water. Which is why offshore drilling will only feed our greed more, as well as the possibility of an oil spill that could kill tons of animals and take years and years to clean up (*is a peta2 fan*) xD Oh yeah... windmills... they're pretty awesome... wink

True, windmills are a very safe way of obtaining energy. However, there isn't always wind. In some areas, there is non stop gales. But in others, it would be like an annual event to have wind. Oh and also about the vegatable oil(I knew someone would say this) well, that is ethanol. And it still pollutes almost as much as gas. Also, has anyone heard about the shortage of corn? That's because farmers are selling more to car companies because they make more money off it. So if we want ethanol, be prepared to give up one of the worlds most eaten foods(not quite as much so as rice though). Oh and about the car running on water. Okay, they recently made one that runs on air and I believe I've heard of one that runs on water(but it sounds like someone got mixed up). Well, think of all the people that work at gas stations that would become jobless. Also, if a car runs on water, it can only go a certain distance per gallon and a certain speed(if it's possible). There is however, a new car I read about on Yahoo that runs on air. But if it runs on air, then how fast can it really go? If it goes 35 miles per gallon(or however you would classify air for a fuel) then it's bound to not be able to go 120 mph. Plus it seats maybe 2 and all in all doesn't provide much comfort. Now we being humans need everything perfect so if we aren't comfortable, then no one will by the car and the car will go off sale. It's a matter of what humans are willing to do for the planet. I myself support alternate fuel but still, humans have to make life more complex than the Earth itself to be comfortable. We're just too adapted. But going further into the subject of using water to power cars, how? How would water work? We can't burn it and water can't move one its own so we would have to move it with another force. Same with air. I bet that no matter what someone says a car runs on today, it still burns even the slightest amount of fossil fuels.

Corn is being sold to Car companies. But that doesn't mean we have to give it up completely. In Fact, I ate corn the other night.
As for windmills. They kill bats. The bat's can't detect the moving blades, and kill thousands of bats. Which are endangered, mind you, and eat bugs. <3 Also, they don't work as well as many other energy needs. Its the weakest, I believe.
I don't know about Cars running on Air, but someone will buy it. Maybe not enough, but still... And besides, what about hybrids? Then run on some gas, but they make a lot more use for it.
If you had to have a special permit saying your gas-guzzling truck was for work, we'd be better off. You don't NEED a hummer.
And what about Hydro, water powered? Even if there are places with out rivers big enough, (Nevada.) There are plenty more where we can use it, and though it does screw with some fish's swanning routs... Well, Windmills do the same to Bats.

#1) We're not giving corn up completely but the supply is running low. Plus, once we run out of oil, then you'll be lucky to find a piece of korn(that's how I spell it) on the ground. Farmers will make a fortune whereas we will be out of such important food.
#2) Windmills probably kill more than bats but yes they kill them. And several species of bats are endangered and eat bugs(thank g-d for someone volunteering!). However, it isn't the weakest energy source. That title would probably belong to, as ridiculous as this sounds, running hamsters on the wheels that are connected to electric wires.
#3)Hybrids are one type of car that doesn't run on much gas. While it drives that is. You have to plug them into your house and then buy more gas for your house to burn as much gas as the hybrid would need to go a certain distance. Plus what if you're lost and your hybrid runs out of electricity? You're in big trouble that's what.
But more people eat fish. Plus that's another mildly weak energy source.

2) The weakest usable energy source.
4) They (Who every they are.) Transport the fish above the dam, and newer dams have fish-ladders. <3
3) Gas Stations will let you plug in, and not all houses run on Gas. Also, you could have it run just on gas if need be. They use electricity first, then switch to Gas. (Or, some, if not most, do.)

... Well... Am I gonna have to be the one to pull out the most obvious energy source? Fine. Nuclear. Not weaponry but using nuclear chemicals such as uranium as an energy source by burning them. This is very polluting but only in the concentrated area of the nuclear waste. Plus, elements as high as uranium on the periodic table don't last much longer than a year at most. They decay almost immediately. That's one reason I wanted McCain to win: because he was gonna support nuclear energy.

Yeah, but aren't they expensive? Sorry, I twitch at the word "nuclear," because I hate nukes... with a passion... but yeah, what about the level of pollution...? It could accumulate over a long (or short) period of time and cause massive CO2 emissions... even if they do decay quickly...
So basically, either way, the world has gotten itself in so deep that there's no real hope for a green future... @.@
I know, I'm a pessimist... xD

But CO2 is a semi element made from 1 carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms so uranium won't cause it. What it will cause is radiation. Radiation is basically light and/or heat a usually high level. But because of the fast decay,it won't accumulate so there won't be long periods of time between the loss of radiation. Unlike the case of nuclear bombs which I also hate but like to build or know the physics behind. AS for it being expensive, yes. But then again, America alone has about $40 trillion. but if you want a truly unpolluting energy source, there may be only the slightest amount of hope. And trust me, I've seen documentaries, and no one will EVER do this. Anti matter. Just a teaspoon worth of antimatter could send us to Mars in one day. but just that alone would put America bankrupt.
