Most cats totally own people. There are some cats that will love you all the time and let you own them, but those are a different species of cat. xD My cat is the spawn of Satan. She'll love on me one minute, and then viciously attack me the next. for no reason. If I want to pet her during the day she'll ignore me, and then at night while I'm trying to sleep she'll come and crawl on my chest. Cats live in their own little world where they rule all humans and are worshiped as gods. domokun

fluffy birdy what is a cat? 1- cats do what they want. 2- they rarely listen to you. 3- they're totally unpredictable. 4- when you want to play, they want to be alone. 5- when you want to be alone, they want to play. 6- they expect you to cater to their every whime. 7- they're moody. 8- they leave hair everywhere. CONCLUSION: they are tiny women in little fur coats. This isn't really an intelligent discussion, and that's a bit sexist. Not to mention that's a pretty broad generalization. Cats have personalities, and believe me, I've owned/cared for enough of them to know that they're not all the same.

I have 3 cats, and statements 3, 4 and 5 aren't really true. Anyway, cats can be that way, but that why I LOVE them. heart heart heart They're independent and not submissive. One of my three favorite animals.

This may just be me being a 100% cat person, but I've come up with this theory. Most dogs are best for people who have the same need for attention. Cats are best for people who like to relax and have their own time sometimes. When you need things to be quiet, a dog can sometimes be an unwelcome disturbance. However, a kitty may understand, and make things even a little more pleasant by just sitting quietly next to you.
This certainly may not apply to all kitties… they do all have their own personalities. This theory is just based on kitties that I've known.
Another thing… it always bothers me that a dog's noise is something as loud and startling as barking. But kitties just have their adorable little meow… unless they have a voice like my Sweetheart… she's still a wonderful kitty, though.

I admit, it really all depends on the person… but it's hard to just say, "Cats are… whatever." I understand what cats may be to certain people, but I'd just like to say, please refrain from saying things so directly as to make generalizations that aren't accurate for all people and kitties. I mean, if you do make generalizations, be willing to thoroughly explain them. This is discussion…
(I hope I didn't sound bad there. I'm terribly sorry if I offended anyone somehow. I just want the point to be made.)
