~Katsumi_Himura~ Myrrddin ~Katsumi_Himura~ Myrrddin ~Katsumi_Himura~ The annoying girl that has to give everyone pep talks and is always optimistic and trying to help, who is also the main character but can't do anything worthwhile. AKA, pretty much Mary-Sues. But I think it's pretty cool when a main female lead seems like she'll be a mary-sue, but turns out not to be, IE, Ahiru/Duck in Princess Tutu, Sora from Kaleido Star [ sort of for her...] though, that kind of female has also kinda become stereotypical......>_> Oh, main characters that have some sort of complex about something that happened in their past. XD aah yes. The overly optimistic main character, as with Sakura of CCS. Yes, it's always interesting when they surprise you by turning out different. rofl Good job with the trauma in the past. I think that trend applies to fanfiction too. lol yeah. sadly i'm still atracted to them...>_>;; I think i just like to be masochistic when it comes to my favorite characters xD; hmmm Sakura didn't bother me too badly, but she definitely is the type. Nothing like making your favorite characters suffer. ^_^ I guess Sakura has the excuse that she's a gradeschooler. They're all supposed to be happy little buggers, right? Yeah, i think that's why she didn't bother me, because she was so young. ^^ Another stereotype - kids piloting huge robots that only they can pilot. =w= Always the giant robots. Sometimes other people can pilot the robots, just not as well. *shuns the Mecha* talk2hand

I'm too lazy to read through the whole thread, so if this has already been said, I'm sorry but. . .
has anyone else noticed the astounding amount of frail, infermed, meek female characters? who when they get too excited, go into fits of coughing up blood and almost die?

There's a crazy shy character in every series. And forty percent of their lines are composed of the word "ano".

Tsundere characters are so very very common right now haha. I swear in almost every anime there's almost always some girl who acts all tough and shouts at/hits/slaps the main male character regularly, but then gets all shy, romantic and blushy around him later. XD

Big breasted women who try to compete with the man stakes.
Boys who act all cool and distant and emo-esque and who have some need to prove something.
Pink-Haired girls generaly being pretty vacant.
The lecherous older man. Always one somewhere.
