chakra1 thestarthatshines chakra1 Prizz1989 Halycon_Galanodel I love his movies, everyone has a twist to it. and most if not all have a famale lead character oh why not have mostly lead females? it is good marketing. xd actually, a few of them have male AND female leads. Castle in the air has a dual lead, and Princess mononoke has a male lead. Though they are predominately female. Not that that's a bad thing, it's a bit refreshing. Too many male leads in Anime and cinema. >< oh, so true. so damn true. yuuup, most female leads are in movies about teaching, or finding their love, or else they're sluts. No offense, it's just how it roles the majority of the time. His movies on the other hand, have strong female characters who work their way around these amazingly fantastic obstacles. >> I just like it. The man can also weave an amazing story. Even my sister, who hates anime and stuff like it and makes fun of them, liked Spirited Away. And she's big on originality and plots and stuff.

You beat me to creating a Miyazaki thread >__> I'm such a fan of Miyazaki. Not only his films, but his life and ideas inspire me. My favourite Miyazaki film has got to be "My Neighbour Totoro".

ehe, it's not a problem; I was reading about him and his experiences the other day and thought we could do with a Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli topic XP I'm a huuuuuge fan though! I find Miyazaki a very inspirational figure.

You should do some reasearch on him if you ever have the chance, because you'll find there is more to his animations than the typical Western view that they look pretty and different. He expresses his political and social views through his films and I have strong opinions about many of his ideas. ^^
