Yeah, I know. But you get used to it in the dub beside calling her Duck, the dub is pretty decent. I still feel sorry for her about her two "best friends." With friends like them who needs enemies.

 Le Prince de Glace ----------- ----------- About her name being Duck; WHY did people freak out? It makes no sense to leave Japanese words in an English dub to me. Ahiru = Duck in Japanese, yes? Therefore, people would have no idea what her name would be in English without looking it up, and her name wouldn't seem to match her attitude.

Precisely! Her name is "Duck", in whatever language it translates to, that's simply her name. Her name isn't "Ahiru", so there's no sense in contradicting the writers ...even if it does sound silly to some people. ^^;;

They don't understand that the translators actually know what they're doing, obviously... stare The fans I met seemingly thought that "Ahiru" sounded more like a name than "Duck" did, I was like - you guys are idiots, to the Japanese Ahiru doesn't sound like a name. They were complaining about how duck didn't sound like a name and it sounded really retarded. I put that in my first post in case someone started complaining about her name being changed to Duck. @Zeoia- that's exactly why she's called Duck, it's supposed to seem weird. Just like "Ahiru" sounds weird to the Japanese, it makes it funny. If it were "Ahiru" in the english version, people would think of it as a name, instead of just a word. To us Duck sounds just like Ahiru does to the Japanese.

I'm still getting used to hearing her referred to as "duck", though I am fully aware of why she's called so in the dub, and agree with it. It just seems odd to me, because Ahiru does sound like a name. but Duck's funny, especially since they make so many jokes off her name. =3

If you were, it'd sound like an everyday word, like duck does.

When I heard her name was duck, I didn't freaked out. I just got the explanation at Ohayocon 07 when they discussed Princess Tutu about her name.
