Meh, i'm in it in my Freshman Year. xd Apparently i am that good, and i am with our Drum Major john, he plays euphonium with me, and we are in marching band together too. (duh...) But yeah, it is really fun because we are going to Boston or New York or florida to compete this year. (I live in California so those places a far far away. xd )

I never had a chance to be in a wind ensemble in high school. (where we had them.)
There were various reasons. I would have loved to have been in it, but I know I wasn't fit. I didn't care enough about my instrument... (which was trumpet, not bassoon.) but that certainly didn't keep some people from making it into wind ensemble. In fact some people in there couldn't have cared less about their instrument.
*sighs*
Anyways, my current band is almost like a wind ensemble. We play pretty difficult music, and that is one reason I love it so much. I'm not being treated like a baby with sixth grade music anymore.

I've only been in a Woodwind ensemble at a band camp, but it's a lot of fun. (I play flute )
I don't think our High school has one. :'(

Our wind ensemble is an after school thing where we practice once a week. It is supposedly the "better people" of the concert band. I've been in it all 4 years playing alto sax.
I love it. We play all the cool/hard stuff. ooh, and we get to compete at this competition-like thing at Hershey and get to spend a school day at HersheyPark. mrgreen

Aw yeh! I'm in the Wind Ensemble at my school. It got into it the second semester of my sophomore year, so I've been in it a year now.
Two semesters in a row, I've been the third chair flute (technically second, since the ACTUAL second chair usually plays piccolo). However, we've nixed chair placement this year (you're simply in a band, with the only chairs being principle players-- first chair), however, I still play all the first parts. >:]

Well I tried out for it but my band director hasn't told me whether I got in or not. Oh well. No biggie if I don't.
