Crispy...very crispy....
*When Tam starts the stuff...Kero goes inside...and starts preparations for a giant party...when it's all done...he calls for his brother...and sends him to gather Shar, Mica, and to make sure to invite the gem-children as well...he stops just short of calling for Bez...getting only half the word out..*
**You decide if he shows up...it's a party to thank Tam for taking care of Kero...and what is Tam's birthday?**

**as angels are not born but made, they don't actually have a birthday, and ye can summon Bez iffin ye want... though ye could probably just look around the cottage a bit... with Tam acting the way he was ye can be certain he was never very far away...**
Tam carefully crisps the meat, truning it ever so often to avoid overcooking it. As he watches the meat he begins humming to himself... the first music he has attempted since Kero left.

*Kero hums to himself too, and decides not to summon Bez...but to leave the window to his room open...if he wants to come, he will...and when the meat is done, he tells Tam to put it on the table...and to go upstairs and get his harp...*

Tam moves the haunch to a large grooved cutting board, then places it on the table wondering why Kero cooked so much meat when there was but the two of them. He starts to take down a couple of plates when sounds at the door distract him.

*When he opens it...there are Mica...Shar...and all twelve Gem-children...including Salunia...and Hopian comes in, holding his daughter in his arms*

Tam stares in bewilderment as everyone strolls in. Soon the cottage is packed to the rafters, with everyone laughing and having a good time... until they realize a touch belatedly that the guest of honor is nowhere to be seen. Emotionally he has been a little overwhelmed and is hiding on the roof. For only that morning he had pretty much hit rock bottom and now he felt as though his world had exploded around him.
Kero soon locates him, sitting with his arms about his knees at the edge of the roof. On a branch nearby sits a dark shadow, silent but attentive. As soon as it becomes aware of Kerobian's appearance, it swirls up and away in silence, leaving the two alone.

Tam looks up with a small smile and pulls him close. "I... I was thinking..." he says quietly. "Do you remember the night of the lightning storm? How we played in the sky? and all our fishing trips? when we met 'ol' Grandad'?"

Tam nods. "Of course we will. Many, many more... it's just that... right now I'm so tired..." He climbs slowly to his feet, toes at the edge and steps off, scaring Kerobian half to death. But almost instantly a pair of enormous white wings flare out carrying him safely to the ground. Landing lightly on his toes he holds up his arms to the cub.

Tam chuckles and folds his wings back,out of the way and out of sight. "It certainly smelt good while I was grilling it. But did ye have to invite so many people?" He rolls his eyes dramatically and walks in the back door, into a kitchen crammed with people.

Tam cups the stones in his palm and drops his gaze in embarrassment. He doesn't see himself as being anything great, only someone who is helping a friend in his need.
"Why..." he stammers softly. "Why me?"
