Tam shakes his head sadly. "No... until I talk to Hopian. I cannot even do that. Forgive me, little one. I truly wish it was not so. But in all honesty, you weren't to learn any of this until you were well into your teens. Forgive me... I know not how it happened, but I have failed you somehow. Knowing what little you do know is going torment you something terrible, I'm afraid. Would it help to know that this individual also had your best interests at heart and that he is someone very dear to my heart?"

*Kero spits a vile oath...even Tam is impressed...*
No, it (Insert aforementioned vile oath here as well) doesn't...I'm so F***ing sick of being kept in the dark!

Tam slowly stands up. "But that is all I can tell you right now, Kerobian. You may hate me all you want, but I will not break my oath."
Then he climbs up to his bed and tries to go to sleep.

Swearing, he gets up to wash himself off and strip the bed, knowing it is going to be a very long night indeed.

Suddenly the cub finds himself in his bed once more, this time although he does not appear to be restrained, he quickly finds he can't leave it's surface.
"And stay there..." comes an angry shout from Talesian's room.

*Kero fights against the bonds, trying repeatedly to throw himself off his bed, and making as much noise as possible, so as to distract and keep awake his sira*

Finally near morning, he dozes off, only to have Tam enter the room to awaken him. "Come with me," says the bard tersely, leading him out into the garden. He shoves a pile of laundry in his direction. "Clean this up. You made the mess, you deal with it. I need to go talk to someone and I fully expect you to have all of it washed and hung to dry before I get back." Then he stomps out of the cottage angrily.
Hiking out towards the river, he makes a mental call to Hopian, asking him to meet him at the falls.

*He gets a flat refusal...though it is tinged with apology*
I'm sorry...but Salunia is ill...it's desert fever...one of the only natural diseases we aren't resistant to...I have to stay with her...
*Meanwhile, Kero, still angry at his Sira, throws the clothes into the mud of the garden*

Apologizing to Hopian for disturbing him, Tam asks for advise. "I know you can't come. You stay put. Salunia's health is far more important than my sanity anyway." Then he sends him a quick burst of all that has happened in the past day or so, leaving out his own personal problems and dwelling only on the cub's."

*Hopian sighs*
I should have known...don't, under any circumstances, tell him who he is...that he knows his full name is bad enough...my advice to you is this...discipline him as if this were a normal tantrum...and ignore any other times he asks you...merely answer his other questions...he's not stupid...just stubborn...beat the pigheaded side of him, and you'll win. Be warned...you may have to turn him over, despite your misgivings...he's not going down easily, Tam...trust me on that one...you will not have an easy time of this...*

Tam sighs and thanks Hopian for his advise. "He would do this when I'm already down so dang far I feel like crawling on me belly." he grumbles to himself slowly walking back to the cottage. Then he thinks he may have an idea. It wouldn't be easy and take a great deal of effort on his part, but he thinks he can pull it off, providing Kerobian doesn't try to run away because of it.
Entering the cottage and realizing that the cub has not washed but dirtied his sheets even more, Tam goes out to the garden, picks them up and carries them into Kerobian's room. There he exchanges the clean sheets on the cub's bed for the ones he had soiled. The clean sheets he puts into his airy closet to prevent the cat from finding them again. Then he makes himself some lunch, ignoring Kerobian's hopeful glances in his direction. Once he has eaten he cleans up after himself and pulls down a book to read.
