You are aimlessly wandering through the forests outside of Barton Town when something sets off your senses. For the last few minutes with every step you took, you felt the sound was...off. You could swear you heard the slightest of mechanical whines just after each footfall. You steel your resolve and whip around to confront your unwanted shadow.

Leaning against a tree studying you is a masked Dark-Elf like figure studying a tablet of some kind, looking to you and back to the machine. You look down to discover the source of the strange noise from earlier. The stranger supports himself on robotic legs, a holster adorning one of them, a large revolver tucked within. His servo motors must've made the noise.

Before you can ask what exactly they are doing here, the stranger speaks up. "You really don't look like a terrifying beast now do ya?" He cocks an eyebrow and throws the tablet at you. You deftly pluck it from the air. Your eyes go wide when you see the screen; An artist's interpretation of you as a huge snarling were-hog is framed by a 'WANTED' ad, a substantial bounty follows further down the page.
"It seems someone thinks you're a huge threat and wants you gone." The stranger shifts off the tree and stands adjacent to you. A cloud moves over the sun and the forest is muted in color. "You know I'm here to collect that reward." The stranger clears the gun out of his holster almost too fast for even you to follow. You close your eyes, holding the datapad in front of you like a shield. The cannon in his hand crashes six times. Brutally loud thunder echoes off every tree around you. Your eyes still being shut, ready to accept the continuation of darkness they see.

You open your eyes to see no heavenly chorus welcoming you to the gates, as a matter of fact, you are still in the forest. Your ears still ringing in the aftermath of the artillery going off in front of you. Lowering the datapad and looking around, you also notice the shooter is nowhere to be seen, the tree he was leaning against now sporting six new smouldering holes. Acrid smoke rising from them in graceful wisps belies the horrible way they arrived just seconds ago.
In place of the stranger is a box with a note attached. You set the pad down and walk over to it cautiously. Upon further inspection you see there is a finely penned script on the note, it reads:

"Monster they called you, but that's not what I saw. Just a misunderstood hedgehog with good intentions. I don't shoot anyone who's unarmed anyways. I demanded the bounty up front, but when I saw you, my mind was made up. I will go deal with the guys that sent me so don't worry. I just hope you forgive me for the ear damage, I had to make it sound convincing you know... Here, this is part of what they paid me, maybe you can make some use of it." -R
