Patricia and leopold followed the waiter to the table and sat down. Hmmm. I'm not used to being in public anymore. What happened to me? I used to be a bloody champion of the people. Now I've become a recluse, leopold thought stroking his beard.
Eric put the spoon in yuki's mouth.
"I'll admit that looks really cute,"
"what? You're sounding really weird now. You are the last person I'd ever expec to call something cute,"
Cordinia chuckled. "I'm not so devoted to intellectual gain that I've become an emotionless puppet,"
"whatever you say cordinia," Eric said feeding yuki more.

Leopold ordered some brandy.
Patricia ordered some hot tea.
Eric and cordinia smiled to watch yuki eat.
Why does this feel so natural? Us doing this together. Don't tell me I still have feelings for him. No, it can't be. Can it? she thought. Eric continued feeding yuki.

Eric picked up the baby and patted him softly on the back.
"It's strange how motherly you are,"
"I'm making up for your shortcomings,"
"I really ought to smash your face for that,"
"my apologies madam," Eric said sarcastically.
Patricia sighed. "Our first date was so long ago. Our town was such a nice place, despite the gladiatorial combat being the main attraction. I was just a humble financier in the presence of a giant," she sighed. She placed her head in her hand and looked up into the sky.
"Oh boy, she's spacing out about our meeting. Unfortunately, that story has a dark ending," leopold shuddered.

Patricia snapped back to reality. "Whoa. I got distracted by a memory for a second. Where am I? Oh yes. A restaraunt. Anyway, we worked in the arena together. All the women there swooned over him constantly. Financial managers, cheerleaders, reporters, gambling officials, every woman wanted to bury themselves in the beard of leopold fringe,"
Leopold blinked a few times and looked to Kiru. "fire and dead children everywhere." he said. Damn, I was a champion of the people and couldn't do crap to help anyone he thought. Where the hell are those drinks? I'm at the breaking point.
Eric and cordinia smiled at the little noises yuki made. Whether it was burping or giggles.

Leopold silently thanked the waitress. He sipped his brandy. Phew, I needed this. I was either about to start crying or flip tables, he thought. Great, the wife's gone off on our meeting,
Patricia was deep into the reselling of her story. "leopold had just finished wiping the floor with some guy. He went to the financial wing to receive payment," she said.
Eric smiled and gently placed the baby on the couch. He pulled a blanket over him.

Leopold finished his brandy. Oh man, just that one glass and i'm already plastered. I haven't had a decent drink in years, he thought rubbing his temples.
Patricia laughed. "I think his record was 6 dates in one day. He loved himself some ladies. Anyway, it was the first anniversary of the arena, 20th anniversary of the building. It was a packing plant of some sort before that," she said.
"Well, looks like he's out. What do you want to do?" Eric said. Cordinia leaned in and hugged him.
"I'm glad you're still alive. My life was horrible without you. The rejection, the lack of social life, you were the only person who was a true friend," she said.
"It's alright coriander. I'm glad you're alright to. You were my first and..." eric looked around to make sure nobody was around. "Frankly the best girl i've ever known,"

"well, being the reigning champion doesn't exactly allow much time alone. He was essentially a celebrity," she laughed.
Leopold coughed slightly. "It's good booze. I've just been off alcohol for almost 5 years. Now it's one drink an I'm nearly s**t faced. Tch," he said.
Cordinia squeezed tighter. "oh Eric. Why? Why do you have so many friends? Why does the world hate my mind?" she cried. Eric hugged her back.
"not counting you I only have two friends in this world,"
"What about the other world?"
Eric shook his head. "Just some of the administration and a couple of girls. Everyone else can..." Eric said. Cordinia pushed away.
"There's more women? Who the hell would want you?"
"you sure seem to,"
Cordinia was stunned. "Wow. I'm a mess. I can't think straight. We used to be so casual. How did it evolve into this?"
"I never thought it would. I seriously thought you'd kill me when I got here. I'm still happy I got to see you again. I hope you will accept my offer. My... Cordinia" he said. this will not go well once kirune finds out. I doubt the other will like it either. Unless she truly switched to Lawrence. Oh god, I must be crazy, he thought. Lawrence had been listening in from a window. He finally fell through. Eric and Cordinia jumped back. Eric drew his blade and held Cordinia in his other arm. "How much did you hear and will you squeal? I PsIwear I will really rip you to shreds if you tell kirune or the other girl about this!" he said.
"how many girls are you dating at once now? Whatever happened to that recluse I knew so well?" Cordinia asked.
Lawrence stood up and brushed himself off. "he's only got one 'girlfriend' by most standards. 'The other' as he calls her was his ex that switched to me after he lost it and called her a demon. He was so devestated with the sudden switch that he cant even say her name anymore. Face it man. She's over you. You have a muc more... Shall we say 'mentally stable' girl now. Dont tell me youve switched back to cordinia now. Nice to see you by the way," Lawrence said.
