Diness felt the rain fall down them, wincing away as if it was burning her. She suddenly rushed over and buried her face into Assis back. She felt tears in her eyes when she kept her face hidden. She hated the rain, maybe it was because she fire and it was water. Feeling the water still soaking her from head to foot, she whimpered softly.
(Sorry it's not impressive. But it's all I got for now)

Assis nearly jumped when he felt Diness pressing against his back. What was she doing? Was she trying to show affection toward him? Assis slowly turned around to face her. He lifted her chin gently with his fingers and looked into her eyes. What he saw surprised him. This was fear that he saw, no mistaking it. Fear.... when only moments ago she had been the aggressive one, pulling him out of danger. Suddenly, she was throwing herself at him as if to be protected from.... what?
Then, he saw it. Diness was wincing against each and every last raindrop that was hitting her face. One might think the rain was hurting her, the way she was acting. She was obviously uncomfortable, and she was whimpering. What connection did this have to her ability to control fire? He hadn’t really thought much about it, but it was an amazing power. She must have been popular, even despite her Gerudo features. Still, infamy was not exactly a desirable way to go about living ones life.
Assis could not believe that she had chosen him to protect her. He was so sure that she was going to reject him that he had almost expected her to avoid even touching him. But this was different. She was looking to him to protect her.... from the rain. Who was he to say no? If her heart had chosen him to hold, then who was he to refuse? Before she got too wet, Assis threw the side of his cloak over her head, wrapping his arm over her shoulder. ”Here, this will keep you dry.”
The patter of rain on the sheet-metal roof nearby caught his attention. If Diness did not like the rain, then Assis would find shelter for her. To be truthful, he wasn’t so excited about the rain, either. He had never liked water, and his swimming ability was less than desirable. Living in the sand his whole life has left him lacking the ability to swim, even detesting the water he drinks to stay alive. As for this water, it was far too much for them.
Assis caught a glance of the building nearby with the sheet-metal roof, which was empty and dark on the inside. More importantly, it was dry. The windows were bare, leaving not one sliver of glass to be seen around the frame. It would be chilly, but he didn’t mind. The night was meant to be cool. It was perfect.
He turned to Diness, speaking as gently as he could possibly manage. ”Come, where it is dry.” With that, he led her inside the dark building, where echoes of rain filled the cracks and holes littering the walls of the old building. The roof added a chorus of snare to the low pattering of rain against wood. He removed his cloak from over her head, sitting down next to her on the floor. There were no tables, or even a bench to sit on, so the floor would have to do.
Of course, Assis was used to sitting low, as he spent a great deal of time wandering the sands of the desert alone. He never would have thought that a woman’s company would be so warm to his liking. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but there was just something.... familiar about this woman. A fire dancer from the city with ancestors Gerudo. What connection could this possibly have? There had to be something....
((That’s ok, writer’s block happens to the best of us. I had to retype this entire post, though, because I got kicked off in the middle of typing it last night.))

Diness looked up at Assis face when he lifted up her chin. Feeling the tears and rain drops moving down her tanned skin, she pulled away from his grip moving to hide her face from the rain. She was always afraid of it when she was little. When she was small, her father would allow her to crawl into bed with him when she heard the rain drops on the windows. She especially hated thunder as it frightened her of what rain storms could create. She would always look for something to hold onto, or someone. She even went so far as Telma went it started to rain in castle town, and she and Telma were out shopping for food for the bar.
She felt the cloak over her head, looking up to see that Assis had thrown it over her head and wrap his arm around her shoulders. She felt his skin against her shoulders and felt the warmth it contained. She felt herself cuddle up against his warm body as he lead them to shelter. She heard the rain pounding up against the metal roof that the house contained, allowing them shelter from the bitter cold rain.
Sitting down she kept the cloak around her shoulders when Assis sat down next to her. Almost by instinct she moved and rested her head against his shoulder. Trying to block out the sound of rain from her ears as she jumped when she heard a crack of thunder after a flash came from the window. She was clinging close to Assis after the boom of thunder. She looked up at Assis, he looked so calm, and looked like it was almost his duty to comfort her. She leaned her head back down on Assis shoulder. Just enjoying the comfort she found from him, she slowly started to fall asleep. Her breathing slowing down as she started to settle down.

Assis lovingly wrapped his arms around Diness as she hid under his cloak. It was clear, remembering her confession from earlier that night, that she did not see him as unworthy of her. He stared down at the back of her head as he thought back to why she felt so familiar to him....
There was an old tale told to children as a bedtime story. The old story from long ago about a tribe of island people who were invaded by a band of male Gerudo pirates. The island itself was volcanic, and for many years, was worshiped by the people by the power within the island. They believed there to be a Goddess living within the volcano.
Ballae Fuega Dasi, Goddess of the Dancing fire. Her power was seen as a blessing, and her gifts of dancing flames were eagerly welcomed by the people. For generations, she was worshipped by the people, who were kept warm by her dances.
One year, on the night of a red moon, the volcano exploded in a vicious cloud of black ash, red ambers shimmering like stars among the black clouds. The people were fearful that the Goddess had become angry, but they soon found this to be untrue. For on that very same night, a girl was born to the people. This girl had been chosen by the Goddess to possess the power to control the dance of any fire she saw. In honor of the Goddess, the people made the girl a priestess, turning to her to worship and honor the Goddess.
Once she became full-grown, the woman had finally realized her full power, and began to create fire from the palms of her hands. Soon, word of her power spread among the various travelers who visited the island from surrounding lands. For another two generations, people would gather to see the new priestess and honor the Goddess of Dancing Fire.
During the third generation of Ballae Fuega priestesses, a terrible tragedy struck the people of the island. A band of male Gerudo pirates raided the island and stole away the priestess in hopes of gaining her power to use for their selfish desires. But, once the priestess was taken by the leader of this band, her powers became lost forever. Never again would her hands produce the dancing fire her people had come to worship so faithfully.
Legend splits into various different opinionated versions after that, like the power was inherited to the Gerudo people, or that the priestess returned and gained her powers back after she was purified once again. But one thing is certain; the band which kidnapped the priestess is solely responsible for the curse upon the Gerudo. Because of their selfishness, the Gerudo are only allowed one male ever hundred years. For this reason, Gerudo women have turned to breeding outside of their tribes with people such as Hylians, and so on.
This woman sitting here beside him in his arms.... was it possible that she carried the spirit of the Goddess of Dancing Fire? That was nothing more than a bedtime story, right? It couldn’t possibly be true. Still, what honor it would be to have such a woman as his bride. If the Goddess has chosen him, as well as Diness.... this was truly an honor sent from the gods themselves. He could never have imagined that such a thing would befall him. Diness was literally throwing herself into his arms, and her he could not refuse.
Assis was the son of Ganondorf, meaning that his sole purpose in life was to carry the male gene for the Gerudo, to carry on his legacy as King Gerudo. Could it be? Was it even possible that he had been chosen as the man who would break the Gerudo curse forever? And Diness, would she even believe that this could be possible? What honor had been thrust upon them? Or, was he simply allowing his imagination to get the best of him? Either way, it was certainly a welcome theory to hold.
Assis lowered his face down to the back of Diness’ neck. He placed his lips against the nape of her neck as he whispered lovingly through the patter of rain outside the safety of his cloak. “Diness.... I want you to know.... I too feel love for you.” His grammar was different from the common tongue used in crowded areas like cities, slang and improper word usage he was not familiar with. Only the most formal of Hylian language did he know. Still, the meaning was just the same no matter how it was worded. He did love her. More than that, he was willing to throw everything away to be with her. It didn't matter anymore. Nothing did. All he wanted was to honor his father one time before leaving his murderous past behind for good. She was the key to it all.

Diness was half asleep when she heard him confess his love for her. She turned towards affection, her eyes close, a little shocked. It was not something that she was expecting. She looked up at Assis, wondering what she should do. Half asleep still, she forced herself to stay awake for one thing only. She reached up as she moved and pressed her red lips up against Assis'. His kisses tasted like one of a true adventure, like she was taking a peek into his past, but what Diness felt made her forget everything she had ever known. She had freely given herself up to Assis, just by giving him one kiss.
Exhaustion washed over her like a wave as she drooped and laid on Assis lap, resting her red head on his arm, her fire red hair lying in front of her face as she slowly started to fall asleep in Assis' arms, listening to the pattering of the rain on the roof tops as it started to come down more gentle. She shivered lightly and moved to kept herself even warmer in his arms. Once she was more comfortable enough she nestled her face into her arms. She felt safe for once in her life in the arms of Assis. Her shivering stopped and turned face in, her body no longer shivering.

Assis sat up as Diness turned to look up at him. He saw the kiss coming, and leaned into it so that she would not have to strain to reach him. Although he was not that much taller than she, he still did not want her to have to strain just to reach his lips. And fiery were her lips, burning through him and warming his lost heart, offering a brilliant light to the darkness inside him. He was almost uncomfortable, feeling suddenly lighter and warmer on the inside. His anger and darkness was fading, and he was burning inside with a new passion he had never felt before. Not once had a single woman caused him to feel this way before.
Assis wrapped his arms around her in a loving embrace as he returned the kiss. It was almost as if her spirit was pouring its energy, its fire, into his own soul. With that, he gently lowered her into his lap, placing his hands on her shoulders to comfort her as she fell into a dream right before him. Assis, however, did not sleep. Not one wink did he take on this night. The rain was not keeping him awake, however. He just sat there on the hard wooden floor, bent over Diness as he listened to her soft breath and letting it drown out the noise outside. Soothing as it was, it did not put him to sleep completely. Instead, he stayed in a half-awake state, still somewhat aware of his surroundings. His first instinct of self-preservation had suddenly been over-ridden by the need to protect her.
All through the night, and the rain, he sat there staring at the back of her head as she slept. They were alone in this abandoned town, but Assis could do nothing to calm the notion that one day, the call would come for him to defend her, possibly with his very life.

Diness blinked at sunlight as it pured into the house that she had fallen asleep in. So, it wasn't a dream, it had actually happened, and Diness remembered every minute of it, even though she was half asleep when it happened. She opened her eyes fully and looked around, the rain had stopped pouring down on the homes, she felt the warmth of the cloak she was under, and the warm arms she was in. She looked up when she saw that she was in Assis arms as he was half asleep.
She didn't move, and she was use to holding still for others. When she would get scared her father would hold her close at night and when she woke up in the morning, she didn't even move from his arms. She just stayed there the whole entire time until he woke.
Why did Diness do this? It was because she wanted to savor the moment of being in one arms, and so, she savored the moment being in Assis arms, still looking up at his face. She moved her head just a bit and laid in upon his chest, hearing his rapidly beating heart and his slow movement of his breath. She looked back outside, wondering what the two was going to do now? Was Assis still going to look for the grave of his father? Or was he going to follow a different path? Well, it didn't matter to Diness, as long as she was able to stay there by his side. Even if she had to return to the desert, Diness wouldn't care, as long it was at his side, she didn't care about anything anymore.

Assis opened his eyes the moment he felt Diness move against his chest. He looked down at her, seeing her eyes turned toward the door to the building. While she was still sleeping, he had been analyzing the various remnants of this building, and had determined that this used to be an old pub. There were various broken bottles against the far wall, and the smell of alcohol was faint in the air despite the heavy dew from the night rain. It had stopped sometime shortly before the sun illuminated the wall of stone adjacent to this building. The air had become thickly humid and hard to breathe, especially for Assis. He never could get used to the atmosphere in the green fields of Hyrule.
Gently, Assis ran his fingers through her hair, straightening it out over the side of his leg. He hadn't touched her once while she was asleep. He simply stared into the backs of his eyelids, listening to the rain. Not one creature of any size had disturbed his hearing while he was asleep. Not one living thing had dared to come between them as they rested through the rainy night.
"You're awake." Assis smiled down at her, remembering how she had been crying before. Now that their feeling had been brought out into the open, she had no reason to be shy or nervous around him. She would never cry for him again. This he would make sure of. Even though he hadn't for one moment fallen completely asleep, he had still been resting in a state somewhere in-between sleep and wake. He didn’t even want to move now, at least until she sat up. He had wanted to stretch for a while now, but he was so stuck on keeping her comfortable that he simply would not move.
Also, while she was sleeping, he had been meditating over the desert, figuring out a way to bring her back with him. He knew what he wanted to do, and he had more riches than he knew what to do with. He could easily buy the supplies he needed to do it. It would take a lot of work, and there would be one more mouth to feed. That would be no problem. He would do all of the work himself if he had to. All they needed was a spot. One area large enough to fit a small family inside of would suffice. Far away from all other Gerudo villages, far from Hyrule, far from everyone they would make their home in the sand. If she was truly serious about leaving with him, then he would make it work. He felt that her words were true, but he needed to be sure. If he was to sacrifice everything to her, he would need to know that she would stay by his side all the way to the end.

Diness blinked when she heard Assis voice, she glanced over at him when she saw that his eyes were open. He looked like he had been watching her the whole entire time. Had he not even gone to sleep? Or had he fallen asleep sitting up? She tilted her head when she looked at him. "Did you... stay awake the whole night?" Diness asked, hiding a yawn in her elbow as she looked up at him. He looked like he was itching for a stretch. She slipped off his lap so he could stand up as she stood up with ease and stood his hand and forced him up onto his feet. She felt him stand up straight as she held his hand. "You know, that's not good for you... not even if it was to keep and eye on me, you still need your sleep too." Diness said, looking up at him.
She started to study how tall he was, or maybe it was because Diness was just short. She never really got a good look at Assis, maybe that was because she was so busy with other reasons to look at him. Or she was just looking at the ground so much. She glanced at him as she tilted her head to side as she looked up at him. She managed to get a good look at him. "I've been meaning to ask... what are we going to do now?" She asked, looking at him, still wondering if he was going to search for his father, or if he was going to leave his past behind.
