Unfortunately his little encounter with the mountain lion put him in a bit of a pickle. To be considered a rogue and on village property illegally after delving into their sources of knowledge, was more than enough reason to warrant an arrest. "Oh..." His entire posture sank, ears falling to the side of his head, and his beady purple eyes looking down in shame. "My apologies, sir. It was due to traveling aimlessly how I discovered these mountains; I'm too far away from home to return now, without direction. If you must, arrest me now." His eyes were locked with Toso's at this moment, resolute with his decision on righting the wrongs he committed.

Cashew continued listening, worry starting to settle within him as news of the current state of the village was going from bad to worse. "A war? With whom? Another village?" War was never good. No matter the outcome, everyone was a loser. Families, separated. Homes, destroyed. Lives, lost. "If I must serve a sentence, is there any way I can assist? It's the least I can do for intruding." These were big words coming from a small mouse, and he stood behind single one of them. Being a useless prisoner would hurt him far more than die trying to relieve the tragedies of war from those who don't deserve it.

"Bloo bloo bloo." The squid seemed to perk up at the little ones honesty with some restrained laughter that shook the table somewhat. He'd reasjust his glasses. It was refreshing to see that chivalrousness still exsisted even among the other species. "My my, bloop. Such an honorable one you are. Many would have taken that warning and remained silent and slink away to the shadows. Bloop. Ah, but you should consider yourself lucky I'm not like my chief of police." Had Kenshin been here this cute little fellow upon confession would have been arrested on the spot no questions asked. Albeit his co-operation would have saved him the Captain's more hard knuckled approaches like he took with the former two Uzu 'envoys'.

With the reassurances, he wasn't like the captain of whom Cashew had yet to discover his passion for justice to a suffocating degree the squid would speak again. "I won't arrest you. Not when you so valiantly are making claims to defend a nation you've only just wandered into bloo bloo bloo." The squid man exhaled as from his front pocket he removed a case of brushes. Looking at them they'd have been sturdy weapons for someone of Cashew's size but for someone of Toso's size they could hardly be considered anything but writing implements. With the ending of that thought however, all the brushes in the case began to float and spin. The man would then produce a piece of paper and without so much as lifting a finger, the brushes would begin to move with minds of their own drawing in calligraphic strokes until what eventually was completed was a seal that incorporated the squids signature.

"Here you are ah...I don't believe I got wind of your name. This writ should prove to quell any would be officers who give you trouble until you can properly see yourself integrated into this village. You may opt to serve as a citizen and affiliate or a member of our military and receive proper permissions for access to our resources. I would advise you to do so as soon as you." providing his honorable friend the writ Toso would cross his arm. "Perhaps after you've been officiated we can see to it how you can be of assistance in our upcoming bout with...whats to be believed an organization of terrorists using the guise of 'liberation' from village 'oppression' as their agenda." The squid closed his eyes blowing out a puff of air. "Though I cannot blame you if you've reservations. You may very well be risking your very life on the unfortunate coincidence of arriving at a trying time, you realize this bloop?"

Cashew remained silent, accepting the praise of his honest nature humbly. He was truly grateful to have met this squid-man, as anyone else might have likely imprisoned him, if not eliminated immediately.

Toso retrieved a case of brushes, and the mouse immediately came to the conclusion that this man was some kind of artist. He was not expecting the brushes to suddenly come to life, floating out of the case and spinning around. "...Oh, my." The mouse took a step back, completely stunned, never having witnessed such wizardry in his life. After taking out a piece of paper, the brushes went to work, creating some kind of formal documentation ending with a signature. 'Tosokurui'. Cashew peered at the signature, then back at the brushes, then Toso. This piece of paper was granting him permission into the village as a citizen or a member of the military, created by magic brushes owned by a squid-man who barely lifted a finger to do so! This had to be the squid chief. There was no doubt now. Still, his powers astonished the brave mouse. "How... T-thank you, sir." Cashew presented Toso with a deep, sincere bow.

Cashew was not fond of these terrorists' motivation for causing a war. To a village that already appeared somewhat peaceful, despite recovering from previous tragedy, it was overkill. What reason did they have for wanting to liberate people who have chosen to live as a community? Cashew and his kin thrived on this kind of lifestyle, it was their way of surviving. What would happen to the people once they were liberated? To the weak or helpless that couldn't fend for themselves? With no regulations set in place to prevent a state of chaos? Without strong, capable leaders to guide, protect, and provide for them? "I do." He stated sternly, raising from his bow, facing Toso standing tall (as 'tall' as he could) and proud. "I'd like to become a member of your military. I've only been here for a short time, and have learned that I have some ability to be of use in your army. I won't allow someone to break up a community with the ideals of 'liberation', only to threaten their survival. Since you were compassionate enough to give me this chance, I want to use it to repay you and your community." A confession of already having made use of the knowledge hidden in the scrolls to some degree was boldly revealed during his speech. Cashew knew Toso might find out later, so it was best to get all of his crimes out of the way beforehand. If he was willing to trust him enough to grant him this kind of offer, Cashew wanted Toso to be proud of the decision, with no regrets. Now, to repay them, this mouse was more than ready to do so, no matter the cost. He'd take in a deep breath, and fall silent for just a moment, retrieving the writ from Toso's hand. Then he realized he still hadn't introduced himself.

"My name is Cashew. It's a honor to meet you, sir."

"A pleasure to make your formal acquaintance monsieur Cashew bloop...Monsieur? My time with my bartender must be rubbing off on me. bloobloobloo." The squid man would laugh to himself as the brushes all danced placing themselves precisely in each of their respective slotted positions in the case before Toso would tuck them away once more with a click. He wondered if his associate and to date Arashi's greatest craftsman had finished what it was that the village needed to disguise itself. Toso was no stranger to the French language among many others do to his culinary career but it seemed he'd started picking up his aquaintances penchant for the occasional sprinkled use. "As you've likely guessed by now, I'm this villages current acting Kage. Tosokurui Ashikoki Hojo. As for your transgressions, consider them pardoned bloop. Our little secret yes bloop. I will caution you however once more monsieur Cashew what we will be facing will be profoundly stronger than any mere mountain lion. Do well to learn as much as you can." With these words the Toso clone would stand and bow respectively. Before looking outside to see a mass of heat being fired off.

"There's a man outside with red hair bearing the name Belamos. He can be rather abrasive but should you desire to levy your strength against another for the sake of tutelage I'd recommend his insight. bloop. Have you the desire to authorize yourself amongst our ranks as soon as possible you'll find the spire at the highest point of the village contains the office. I'm looking forward to working with you young Cashew perhaps we can discuss the intricacies of our upbringings come a better time. bloop." Toso would bow only to disappear in a puff of smoke. This revealing that what and whom the adorable rodent warrior was conversing with was a clone. He'd leave him to his devices to decide where he would go from there. Be it seeking consul with this Belamos, heading to the spire, or whatever else.

Cashew was grateful to have met someone so kind as the Squid Kage. Initially he thought he'd be some kind of tyrant; squids were known to be quite terrifying. Now that he was officially a trainee under his military, the mouse was set on doubling his efforts on learning as much as he can to help out his tentacled friend. The challenges that lied ahead did not discourage Cashew, for his ability to protect those unable to defend themselves and how he could support those fighting to overcome said challenges laid at the forefront of his mind. Turning to the bright light that was a large fireball being launched from afar, Toskurui explained that it belonged to an aggressive man known as Belamos, who could be a suitable teacher for him. Or, he could head to the spire to enlist immediately. After those instructions, the squid dispersed into a plume of smoke, leaving the mouse in shock. He looked forward to chatting with this squiddy fellow sometime in the future, he had so many questions for him.

Now, it was the time to fulfill the end of the promise he made to Tosokurui, and he'd start by learning all of the basics. There was only so much scrolls could teach him, so a teacher would prove to be more effective. There was some classes in session nearby, and Cashew opted to attend one of those, in favor of meeting this Belamos figure when he was fully prepared. Approaching one of the classrooms, a stampede of children bolted out of the entrance, laughing and screaming, leaving the teacher alone at her desk. The mouse casually entered, naturally a bit stealthier than he intended, going unnoticed up until the point he reached her desk to speak. "Excuse me, miss." An awkward silence followed, the teacher having paused the progress on her paperwork to search around, only to see no one was there.

"...Down here." The teacher leaned across the top of her desk to see a two foot mouse standing holding his writ up for her to see. However, her reaction was not expected. Her face grew pale, and she leaped on top of her desk, shrieking. "AAAYIEEEEEEEEE! A m-- Wait, did you... just speak to me?" Cashew stood calmly as the woman nearly had a heart attack. This reaction was not uncommon, especially towards his less intelligent kin. "Yes, ma'am. I apologize for frightening you, but I am no threat." With a single hop, he placed the writ on her desk and spoke once more. "I'm here to receive instruction to become a ninja. I'm sure this writ by Mr. Tosokurui will suffice my enrollment, yes?" The teacher blinked, remaining silent as she examined the writ, then looked back at the talking mouse before her. "Yes... It would. How did you--"

"It's a long story. A mountain lion brought me here."

"Ah. I see..." The teacher handed Cashew his writ, climbing down from her desk, rearranging her hair as she sat down. "Very well. Welcome to the class. The students are having lunch right now, so please return when lunch is over, and we can go from there."

Cashew nodded, leaving the classroom and heading out into the open area of the Academy. He noticed the students from her class eating in the cafeteria, and made his way there. He half expect a lot of the students to react the same way the teacher did. They're all just going to have to get used to seeing me around. I don't plan on going anywhere soon. The mouse was not afraid of becoming an outcast, if it came down to that. He wasn't here to make friends, but he'd love to have someone who was at least comfortable enough to have him in his presence, much like Tosokurui. The two had quite a few things in common, which likely made their first meeting that much easier. Upon entering the cafeteria, there were gasps, shouts, and giggles. 'Is... is that a mouse?' 'Its walking on two legs!' 'Don't let it get near you, mom says they are dirty!' 'Look at that cool cape its wearing!' 'Awh, it's a cute little mouse~.' There was a mixture of comments among the murmuring crowd in the mess hall. Cashew could hear them all pretty clearly thanks to his sense of hearing, but ignored them altogether and took a seat with a group of four children who were eating lunch. "Hello, I'm Ca--" There were screams, groans of disgust, and sounds of plates clattering against the table as the children bolted off. What scared them more? A mouse sitting at the table to eat with them, or the fact that it was talking?

The mouse blinked, casually shrugging off the event that just occurred, noticing there was still a boy at the table, staring at him. He had disheveled hair, glasses with a crack in the right lens, and overall looked like the classic nerdy kid. "...Yes?"

                                            "You're... a rat."

                                            "No. I'm a mouse."

                                            "You can talk?"

"Yes... just like you've learned to talk, so have I."

                                            "Oh. I like your cape."

"Thank you. It's very precious to me. I'm Cashew. And you are?"

"I'm Sato. Are you hungry?" It was then Cashew realized that he didn't bring any food to lunch. He was sure that he was lugging food around when he found this village. Oh, wait a minute. The mountain lion. He abandoned his food during the chase through the village entrance in exchange for not being a happy meal for the feline predator. His stomach rumbled, as if responding to the question he had yet to answer. "Here, have some of this." Sato handed Cashew a piece of bread and some fruit some the small pile of food on his plate. The mouse sniffed them as he retrieved the pieces of food, bringing them closer so he could eat. "That's very kind of you, Sato. Thank you." The two ate in silence for a while, which didn't appear to be uncomfortable to either of them at all. Perhaps they were both happy with the company, considering they were the only two sitting at the table. Cashew nibbled at his bread, taking breaks in between to munch on a piece of fruit, or sit silently to let his stomach settle before going back to eat more. Sato ate his food as well, stopping periodically to watch the mouse eat, still astonished that a walking, talking mouse was eating at a cafeteria table.

Their peaceful eating session was disturbed when an apple sailed across the air and pelted Sato on the head, knocking his glasses onto the table. "Ow!" Cashew's ears perked up in alarm, "Are you alright, Sato?" His eyes were a little watery, but he shook them off, reaching for his glasses. "Yea, it's--"

"Hey nerd! Do you like eating with rats now?" A boy shouted from the table behind them. He was a chubby boy with short, spiky hair, and sat with a bunch of other boys with grins on their faces.

"You shouldn't be wasting your food. Let alone throwing it at someone." Cashew turned to the bully, speaking in almost a parenting tone. "Yea? What are you gonna do about it, rat?" The emphasis on rat was venomous, but if he was expecting a reaction out of the mouse, he wouldn't get it. "I believe your teacher can take of that. I am no rat. I'm a mo--" Splat! A piece of bread slabbed with mayonnaise on one side smacked the mouse square in the face. The bully and his 'crew' laughed loudly as the piece of bread slid off of his face, leaving traces of mayo all over his fur. "A rat! And, a tattle-tale." The boys surrounding the bully agreed simultaneously, "Yeeeeeaah." Cashew wiped off his face, staring the bully dead in his eyes with his beady, purple ones. "Boy, I will say one last time: I'm not a rat. I a a mouse, do you understand me?" The kids in the cafeteria oohed, looking to the bully for his reaction. The chubby boy stood up from his seat and walked over to the mouse, towering over him by perhaps another two feet, if not a little more. The mouse stood bravely as the bully towered over him, in the attempt to intimidate him. "You're a rat. A dirty. Stinky. STUPID RAT." He raised his hand, aiming to strike the mouse, as Cashew readied himself to respond accordingly.

                                            Splat!

The bully was hit with a face full of tuna salad, the mouse turning to see his new friend Sato raising up to his defense, armed with his remaining pieces of fruit. "First of all, his name is Cashew. Second, he is mouse. Not a rat. Third... you better not hurt him!" The bully growled in anger, aggressively swiping the tuna salad from his face and throwing it back at Sato. "Stay out of this, you little nerd! You're next!" The mouse acted quickly, jumping to Sato's side with his piece of bread in his paws, launching it at the bully's face. It traveled through the air much faster than he expected, and thus hitting him with a little more force, sending his head back. Slamming his foot on the plate in front of him, it flipped up into the air, and Cashew caught it, arming it as a shield. The boys in the bully's crew had already starting taking pieces of their food in preparation to retaliate against Sato and his furry friend, as the bully retreated back to their table to do the same.

                                            "FOOD FIGHT!"

A single cry of those two words gave birth to a war of all wars, one that paled in comparison to what was to come, or those that these children would experience as they grew up to be splendid ninja. Yet it was absolutely terrifying nonetheless - for the janitors, that is. Various types of food, drinks, and even lunch boxes sailed across the air from all over the cafeteria. Beyond the screams, shouts, and laughter, there were kids hiding silently under the tables that weren't overturned seeking safety. The smarter ones ran out of the cafeteria altogether, calling for help. Among the brave 'warriors' who stayed to fight the good fight, were Sato and Cashew versus the bully's crew. Two versus five, to be exact, but the duo were doing quite well holding their own. Cashew acted as the first line of defense, wielding a plate to masterfully deflect oncoming projectiles of delicious food, while Sato tossed food back, aiming to take out some of the boys surrounding the bully. "You're going down nerd! You too, ya dumb rat!" The bully shouted, three of his boys tossing a slab of pizza in unison, using their numbers to try and overwhelm Sato's guardian.

"Sato. Take cover! The mouse dropped his plate shield to join his partner underneath the table they were using for defense, avoiding the pizza onslaught. "What are we going to do? There's too many of them, Cashew!" Sato looked to his furry friend in a panic. Cashew couldn't have his only partner in this battle bailing out on him, nor allowing him to succumb to fear, losing focus. "Do not fear, my friend. Watch this." With that, the mouse performed a technique he learned, Static Strings, attaching an electric wire from each of his little fingers onto nearby pieces of food, and flung them over, all at one, to the boys firing back at them. Ten pieces of food total sailed through the air, pelting a few of them as they shouted in defeat, while the others quickly ducked for cover. "Woah! How did you do that?" The mouse winked, "Knowledge is power, my friend. Make sure you study well! Now, let's win this thing!" The mouse and the boy hopped from under the table, armed with food and a plate for protection, leaving their primary defense that was the lunch table, to charge head on at the remaining boys and the bully. "W-what is this!?" The bully exclaimed in the confusion, Cashew and Sato letting out the mightiest battle cry as the rushed forward, throwing the food they carried with all of their might, taking out the remaining boys that surrounded the bully.

"You will regret your insolence, boy! Now face the might of this mouse and Sato!" Tossing their plates aside, among the sailing food and drinks, the duo dove across the table together, tackling the bully to the ground.

The other side of the doorway through the paned windows of said door a man wearing glasses would watch as the situation unfolded. "This place really has gone to the birds. Did the twin kage truly believe they could single-handedly run this facility with the few teachers there are and an ever-growing lack of discipline? I'm certain they meant well, but everyone has their limits." He would say opening the door to the cafeteria to step on the sauce of a rather sad looking piece of pizza to where he'd stop and grimace. "Honestly. To think I'd be assigned here of all places when there's a war impending is almost an insult, but that mans level of charm despite his voice being deader than nailed doors is an ability all its own worthy of his title." Removing a pocket watch from his person. An item with a particular technique sealed inside of it, at the sounding of a click, all flying foodstuffs and the like would stop as if time itself were frozen. Physical objects were no longer capable of movement halted in place.

Those who were partaking in the 'festivities' would find they could not longer interact with the food. Shockingly as if it were glued to their plates. Even the streams of liquid in the air looked frozen. The new arrival would step forward approaching Cashew and his new associate Sato pulling the two of them off the chunky boy whilst also staring at said blob now flat on his back with an intense glare. Sato held by his collar and Cashew by his scruff. "You three are to be coming with me. Stand. You can to do with a little exercise." He'd refer to the tubby lad whose face now doused in shame stood. He would let go of Sato's collar but continue to hold Cashew, of whom despite being as sizable as he was, this man had the ability to bring him to his face so that his scolding eyes could made well known. "I had heard from a recent member of the staff an individual had been accepted via a personal writ from the Kage just not long ago. Judging as I've never seen you before, you should be wholly recollecting on your actions here today, not how it makes you look alone, but the one who imparted his trust in you for said writ. If you are to be a student here know that your actions are a reflection of his decisions and come enlistment a reflection of the village as a whole." He'd place cashew down.

He'd then turn around to face the exit of the Cafeteria before loudly exclaiming for all to hear. "THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU! Come time I return this place is to be spotless! It is not the duty of the janitorial staff to take care of your mistakes. SHINOBI TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS THAT IS TO BE UNDERSTOOD FIRST AND FOREMOST!" Another sound of a click as all the food and liquids and various other things that had been stuck in place all collapsed in their places. The man would then look behind him to escort the three individuals to a room in which they would be serving their Detention. "Come along now." He would then lead the three to an enclosed room where a phonograph would begin playing what most kids would consider boring classical music. Rather than getting to enjoy the rest of the lunch period the students would be tasked with cleaning the cafeteria and these three would each start to be given a lesson starting with the large boy whom seemed to be a repeat offender. This left Sato and Cashew in the detention room find ways to distract themselves while the bully was being grilled until the end of their sentence.

"I don't want to catch you disrespecting me, or my friend Sato, ever again. I suggest improving your character from here on out, or you'll be lonelier than you think." Cashew stared down at the bully laying prone on his back. He seemed to get the message, fear plain as day upon his face. What, did he think he was going to get bitten or something? It was at that moment that time appeared to have stopped. Literally. All of the flying edible projectiles, and then some, had all frozen in place. "What is-- Oh! Hey!" The mouse was suddenly lifted from the bully's stomach, suspended by the scruff of his fur as flailed in a panic. Sato too, hoisted from the ground, only to be met by glaring eyes behind a frame of glasses. Cashew's poor heart lurched into his throat, mistaking the man for Tosokurui, but upon taking a closer look, that luckily was not the case.

Claudius' words sent chills of every kind throughout Cashew's body, along with the most pitiful face of shame his mousy face could muster. He did not speak a word, for the only thing he could think about was how Mr. Tosokurui would feel if he were to hear about this. Regardless of the mouse's reason for standing up to Sato's defense, and his own for that matter, Mr. Claudius was right. He was failing on the promise he made to Tosokurui, only after moments of making that promise. I should have thought my actions more thoroughly. There had to have been a more peaceful way to resolve this issue... The writ might as well should have been ripped to shreds at this point. Tosokurui has forgiven him for some of his mistakes already, the mouse feared that this screw up would be the final straw. "I'm sorry, Sato..." He'd squeak weakly as he was returned to the ground. A clicking sound was produced by the well-dressed male, causing all airborne food to fall to the floor. Time resumed once again. As the remaining students began cleaning up, Cashew, Sato, and the bully were all sent to the detention room.

"I-I can't believe it! I'm going to be grounded forever." Sato and Cashew sat a desks beside each other, the boy crying with his head resting into his arms. "It's my fault. Had I not provoked him, none of this would have happened." Cashew climbed down from his desk to Sato, sitting on the table, patting the boy's head gently with one of his tiny paws. The least he could do was try to comfort him. No child enjoy punishment; he understood that. When he and his siblings would get out of hand, they'd lose their playtime for the day. "Nah. He's a real jerk. Always picking on me. If you weren't there, I would've gotten beat up again. Thanks for having my back." Sato gave a half smile through the tears rolling down his face. The mouse simply nodded. Having made a new friend was nice, but now Cashew was in a deeper hole than he was when he first arrived. How was he ever going to able to make this up? Perhaps going to Tosokurui to explain the situation... at the risk of looking like he was taking advantage of the Squid Kage's kindness. Then what about Sato? What other punishments would he have to endure by his teacher? His parents? In Cashew's eyes, he was the innocent one here.

A little over half an hour passed, and most of that time was quiet. Sato napping peacefully, and Cashew brooding on his desk, wrapped in his cape. "How long does this detention last?" The mouse asked staring down at his reflection in the desk. It took a bit of time before Sato awakened, recollecting himself. "Hm? ...I... I don't know. I've never been in detention before. I've seen some of the other kids come back to class after a while; some even say they go home early." Sato rubbed his eyes, resting his heads in his hands as he looked down at the mouse. "So, they just leave? If that's the case, then we should go back to class. We're missing out on important lessons." Sato sighed, rubbing his forehead to remove the last bit of drowsiness from his system. "I guess? They just... walk into class. A teacher doesn't escort them. Besides, Mr. Claudius is busy with Jerk Boy. He deserves all the scolding he can get."

"Very well. Let's get back to class then." Cashew hopped down from the table, waiting for Sato to recollect himself and prepare to lead the duo back to their classroom.

"So then you think you can simply waltz right out of here with nary any semblance of respect for the one who incarcerated you." A glint reflecting off his glasses. Reflecting the two individuals attempting to make their casual getaway would find a kunai halting their advance thrown in the direction of their feet forcefully causing a startle and a halt. A piece of paper was then given to the large-bodied child who was sobbing to a degree that snot was prevalent on his face. "Clean yourself up." He'd give the boy a handkerchief of which he blew into wherein a disgusted Claudius received it and simply tossed it in the wastebasket. He had quit being a core nin for this? Tch. "Have this paper signed by your parents Chouzen. This will overturn your expulsion and require you to visit counseling if you are to continue attending. You're dismissed."

"YOU TWO!" The glare of his glasses like a laser to punish those that would dare do evil. "I was willing to be the kind and considerate sort Young master Sato. Seeing as this is your first offense according to records. I will not have ignorance as an excuse if someone is speaking, you wait to be spoken to. This goes doubly for you mouse, but I'm willing to overlook it in regards to your likely colorful upbringing." A harsh tone of voice when referring to Cashew as mouse. It was not strange for people to think lesser of beings that were different than themselves and while Claudius had attempted to remain indifferent as he was taught racism and being speciest were wrong. Cashew was not painting his kind to be the wise or favorable type. He thusly concluded not to hold the rodent to the mannerisms associated with humans which could in a sense be interpreted as an insult despite the slight truth to it.

"Now, unfortunately, I'm afraid I'll have to inform your parents of these transgressions. Something I was apt to let slide. Unfortunately, seeing as I have no contact information for you let alone your name what with your sudden enrollment it is to my displeasure that you may be excused. Although, make trouble again and I will report you directly to the Arashikage whom gifted you that writ." He would inform and warn Cashew before looking out the window to see that those who opted to take recesses during lunch were starting to return to the building. "Hurry along now before you're late to classes." His attention would turn to Sato. "Had you simply waited a mere few more minutes none of this would have happened. To think you'd lack faith that I was unawares of how long I intended to keep you here." Moving towards the dial phone and removing it from its receiver he'd spin the numbers and wait. The Elevation of the desk was parallel to the cord of the phone. Claudius would then begin to speak while Cashew's partner in crime was visibly upset in the sullen sense. Cashew was free to leave.

"Yes, Mr. Hiraihoshi? Yes, this is the academy calling... it's in regards to your son Sato. Ah, no he's fine physically. You see.." Now what would the mouse do. He could continue down the dark path for the sake of his friend and easily cut the wire before the man could continue speaking, or he could leave no leaving his friend to his fate...or perhaps...there was another way? A way where one could take responsibilty...somehow.

Before the duo could make a single motion towards the door, a kunai embedded itself into the floor between them with extreme precision. Momentarily in a state of shock, when the two came back to their senses they were met with a recognizable menacing glare from Mr. Claudius. Busted. The blubbering tubby bully was excused, not after causing a scene that made the duo regret eating lunch for the moment. Mr. Clauduis addressed them with a bark that had them standing at attention, both undoubtedly shivering beneath his frightening gaze. Sato was already starting to cry the moment he realized he made the mistake of assuming one could just leave detention without consent. Had he only waited just a few more minutes, he could have gotten out of detention without his perfect record being blemished. "N-no... p-p-please, Mr. Claudis. No..." If he wasn't shivering before, he definitely was now, having fallen to his knees with tears rushing from his eye sockets like a torrent of rain as he pleaded to the man who held the fate of the rest of the boy's life within his hands. All he wanted to do was become a good ninja for his parents, and make them proud. Yet here he was, getting into a bunch of trouble, all because of an unlucky encounter with a talking mouse... who was going to get off without any penalties!

Cashew looked upon Sato with sadness and shame, ears flattened down the sides of his head. He could feel the fear and regret radiating off of him; he could nearly smell it. However, on Cashew's side of this, things were starting to look up. The writ was becoming a symbol of the massive amount of debt he owed to Tosokurui than anything else, saving him from incarceration - twice! The food fight and the detention would simply vanish the moment he left this room. He could start the rest of the day as if he simply arrived at the cafeteria only to be the outcast he should have been, sitting alone by himself, watching the others eat as his stomach growled relentlessly. He could go back to class, right now for his first day of studies, and learn with his other classmates. At the end of the day, he'd likely make a small home for himself, or go find Mr. Tosokurui and tell him about his first day at class. They could catch up with each other, and Mr. Toso would be so proud of him for being a good student. He'd have no regrets about giving him that writ at all.

Except, that's not how it all went down. Meeting Sato in the cafeteria was a destined fate. The two seemingly clicked right off the bat, and as far as Cashew was concerned, the two were best friends. He was positive that Sato felt the same way. The duo fended off a bully and his gang together! The bond between this mouse and boy could not be denied... Cashew would be a fool, a liar, a coward if he turned his back on Sato in his time of need. It was his fault the more he thought about it. He didn't have to disturb Sato's nap to ask about the duration of their sentence. He was the one insisting they leave to go back to class in the first place! This mouse had a choice to make, and while he was torn between his friendship to Sato, and his debt to Tosokurui, he simply refused to let his newly made friend down. If it cost him the removal of his writ, he was willing to accept that fate to save his friend from further trouble. Please, forgive me... Sato.

                                            "Cashew."

He spoke loudly, enough to interrupt Mr. Claudius' call with Sato's parents, who was still bawling his eyes out on the floor. "My name, is Cashew. I decided for the both of us, that we should leave. Sato was simply following my instruction, since I needed him to get the door open. Leaving was my idea, Mr. Claudius. Sato is not at fault here." During his confession, Cashew had taken his position between the sobbing Sato and Mr. Claudius, beady eyes staring confidently into that terrifying gaze behind glasses.

A moments pause in his conversation as he looked to Cashew on the other line the parents patiently waiting for news. He'd placed his hand over the phone so as not to have his voice overshadow. However, it was in Cashew's confession that Sato's tears quelled. Listening to the creature so little stand up for him the way he did. Even if it was just mere minutes ago flashbacks to the warzone that was the cafeteria replayed in his head. It was here the boy decided to take decisive action. "Ah.. well.." Suddenly Sato would signify that the mouse move Cashew aside, his eyes red but his heart enflamed. "NO! It wasn't his fault! I'm just as much to blame! I didn't know! Like you said I should have known better! Don't pin this on Cashew! MY FRIEND had nothing to do with this! It was all me!" Claudius's breath was abated stopping mid-sentence before the fierceness of his eyes looked at both the individuals who had their own eyes brimming with conviction. Sighing he'd remove his hand from the phone. The frightful gaze of the man subsiding.

"Sorry for that brief delay. A member of staff needed to inform me of today's scheduling errors. What I was meaning to say is that I wanted to praise your son Saito for being an individual of exemplary character. I simply wanted to congratulate you as his parents for raising such a well to do young lad...yes of course...If he does anything out of line I'll be sure to inform you...no no, we do make outgoing calls for more than behavioral mishaps...good day to you as well." He'd then hang up the phone looking to the two individuals with his arms crossed. It seemed the man was stern but had a heart. "I'm hoping you've learned your lessons in taking rash actions without first considering the possible consequences of them. Now both of you off to class, your tardy enough as it is. Here are your hall passes." The man in puff of smoke produced two papers with the Kanji 'pass' on them. Cashew may have worried his time here in Arashigakure would be spent as an outcast. That he wouldn't be making any friends anytime soon. Had he left without a word, a sourness of betrayal may have very well stewed inside Sato, but this never happened due to his courageousness. In fact, as the two would begin their trip across the halls Sato would begin to tell Cashew of his other friends and how they'd all likely love to meet him and grow acquainted among propositions to hang out after lessons.

Cashew was suddenly nudged aside, and to his surprise, it was Sato, raising up to his defense once again. The mouse was ready to oppose, but found his words caught in his throat when Sato referred to him as a friend. He remained silent throughout Mr. Claudius' phone call with Sato's parents, shooting his pal a smile when they both realized the nature of the phone call. "Yes, we have. Thank you, sir." "Thank you, Mr. Claudius!" The duo bowed in unison, taking their passes and running back to class. Cashew learned of Sato's other friends along the way, agreeing to meet with them after class was out of session.

The two arrived to class, handing over their passes to their teacher. Both of them were pardoned of their tardiness, allowed to take their seats as the lesson resumed. "Now that everyone is present," The teacher glanced over at the mouse and the boy sat across from one another, before returning her attention to the entire class. "We will continue our lesson for the day. As you all know, Genjutsu is one of the three basic types of techniques you can use as Shinobi. It allows you to create various illusions by controlling the chakra of the target's central nervous system, thus affecting the five senses." A tap of the pointing stick directed the student's attention to the chalkboard, where a detailed diagram of the brain, descriptions of the five senses, and brief notes on genjutsu, including types. "The five senses are Sight, Touch, Hearing, Smell, and Taste. Each one affects the target of an illusion in specific ways, so it is up to you as the caster to determine the best illusion to use for the proper situation. Sato and..." The teacher paused, looking over at the mouse sitting before her. "His name is Cashew, Akina-sensei." Cashew nodded in agreement. "Right... Since you and Cashew did not make it to class on time, I'd like you two to pass out Genjutsu scrolls to the rest of the class for me while I go over instructions for your assignment. Understood?"

                                            "Yes ma'am."
                                            "Yes ma'am!", the two replied.

Cashew and Sato both removed themselves from their seat, walking up to the front of the class room taking a collection of scrolls in their possession. There were eighteen students in the classroom, each of them taking nine scrolls, and distributing them to one half of the classroom. While Sato was able to carry all nine of his scrolls at one time, Cashew was only able to carry three at a time, having to make multiple trips back to the teacher's desk. Some of the students who hadn't recognized the mouse from the cafeteria were looking at him with a mixture of disbelief, repulsion, and/or curiosity. "Is it safe to touch this? A rat made contact with it..." One of the students would whisper over to her friend as Cashew handed the scroll to her, and moved on to the next student. He could hear her clear as day, but chose to ignore her. As they finished passing out the remainder of the scrolls, Akina continued speaking. "I have given you each a scroll with a few basic Genjutsu I'd like you to study. After you've learned the technique yourself, you are to get into groups of three and practice the techniques you've learned on one another." After Cashew and Sato finished handing out the scrolls, they returned to their seats.

"Begin!" Akina tapped the pointing stick on the chalkboard, then proceeded to walk around the class to help any students who were needed. Another individual entered the classroom, while young, much older than the Academy Students present, and likely a Genin due to the headband around her waist. She assisted Akina in providing help to students struggling with their studies. Cashew opened his scroll and immediately began studying.

The first technique on his list was the Cloud Cover Technique. Its primary sense targeted sight, creating the illusion of a small cloud upon the ground. The cloud was capable of hiding objects, small holes, and the like within, preventing those under the effects of the Genjutsu from being able to see it. Mark of the Unfamiliar was another Genjutsu that relied on the sense of sight. It allowed one to change the writing, markings, or inscriptions to something completely different. However, the jutsu could easily be dispelled if someone were to touch said thing being used as a catalyst for the technique. Scent of Peculiar, obviously relied on the sense of smell. It allowed confusion with the target's sense of smell, altering the scent of whatever the creator wanted to cause specific reactions. Cashew was aware that his sense of smell was quite strong, and that this technique could be more useful against him as a ninja animal. Shadow Glare, another sight Genjutsu that manipulated shadows targeting the vision of the person under its influence. One could manipulate their shadow to varying degrees, with even more effectiveness in areas with abundant shade. Cashew could use this technique to make himself seem bigger than he was, or perhaps taller even.

Chameleon Skin gave the caster the opportunity to blend into their surroundings via Genjutsu. By affecting the targets sight, it would make the caster much harder to see. Much like the basic ninjutsu similar to this technique, it can be easily seen through by more experienced shinobi. Comfort Song would be the first sound based Genjutsu Cashew learned about. With the help of an instrument, one could play a soothing tune to calm individuals within their surroundings that could hear it. The mouse wasn't much of a musician, but he was interested in learning how to play various instruments. The Scary Face technique seemed more like a funny prank the academy students would get a kick out of more than anything. Using the sense of sight, one could alter their facial features into something completely terrifying. Perhaps since he was an adorable mouse, this Genjutsu could stop even the hungriest cats in their tracks. Psychedelic was the final technique technique on Cashew's list to study. Through sight, he would be able to target the individual's vision to produce a scene of rapidly changing colors and patterns. He figured it was another fun Genjutsu for academy students to mess around with, though he'd like to see how some of his fellow classmates react to it.

Once he finished, he waited for Sato to finish his studies so the two could find a third student to group with and practice their techniques. The duo ended up grouping with another nerdy looking boy who had finished around the same time they did. He had long dark brown hair, rounded glasses, and dressed pretty sophisticated for his age. "This is Itsuki! Itsuki, meet my new friend, Cashew." Itsuki bowed politely, and the mouse returned the gesture. "So, this is the one you got into so much trouble with, huh?" The boy held a judgmental gaze upon boy Sato and his mousy companion. "He defended me today from fatso. Where were you? I had to sit at a table with strangers, since you were nowhere to be found!" Sato frowned slightly, crossing his arms. "I told you that bully was going to take our table. I stayed in class to have lunch and read. You should have done the same thing." Isuki fired back, pushing the glasses up against the bridge of his nose. "Well, luckily for Cashew here I was able to get out without too much trouble. We even stood up to him. Saw him cry like a baby in detention, too." The boy's chuckled, and Cashew simply smiled. If he recalled, Sato was also crying. Anyone would have in his situation. "Let's practice some of the techniques we learned, guys." The two boys agreed, and they immediately went to work.

"Alright, gentleman. Before we begin, I have a secret to tell you about mice..." He leaned in close, lowering his voice as he looked around to make sure no one was listening. Sato and Itsuki both leaned forward with interest. "Did you know..." There was a small pause to build the tension, "That mice have magical toots?" Both boys looked at Cashew with disbelief. "What!? No way! Everyone knows that farts stink. There's no such thing as a good-smelling fart." Sato pinched the bridge of his nose, making a stinky face. "Farts are gas created from the waste in your body. Key word, waste. How can they possibly smell good?" Itsuki added. "But it true, boys! Our toots smell wonderful, and those who manage to get a whiff of our toots, have tremendous luck bestowed upon them!" The boy's weren't buying it. "Oh yea? Prove it. Fart. Right now." "Mice don't fart. We toot. There's a difference... Behold!" Cashew made a grand pose, placing his hands together as he performed the Scent of Peculiar technique on his unsuspecting victims. There was a small grunt, followed by the vigorous trembling of Cashew's little mousy body as if he were going to implode. The boy's watched in curiosity, waiting for the luck to consume them through the invasion of their nostrils. A few moments later, the mouse was propelled a couple inches into the air, as gas was forcefully expelled from his rodent bottom in a loud, squeaky sounding toot!. Itsuki and Sato were laughing their behinds off. "All of that extra stuff and that's all you could do!? I can make better farts than-- woah..." Sato paused, inhaling the wonderful scent that was Cashew's toot. "It has a sweet, earthy smell to it...?" Itsuki was confused, but he couldn't help but inhale the scent even more. "You see? And now you'll have good luck for a while!" Chuckling to himself, he ended the technique, both boys taking in a big, heaping inhale of the most rotten rodent fart in history. "O-oh... OH. MY. GAWD. UGH!" Sato reeled backwards, covering his face with one hand, and fanning the air around him with the other flailing arm. "What happened!? Are we going to have bad luck now?" Itsuki spoke with muffled words, calmly covering his nose and mouth with his hands. "No, not at all. I just needed to let that out. I've been holding it since Sato gave me that fruit at lunch time. Apparently the strawberries didn't come out as good as they smelled coming in, aha!" The three of them laughed, making efforts at clearing the air which surrounded them in stink before they continued their assignment.

"Alright, no more tricks mouse. What else have you learned?" Itsuki chuckled, awaiting for Cashew to demonstrate another technique. The three students were taking turns showing off their new skills, Sato and Itsuki having performed a single technique each. Now that it was the mouse's turn again, he quickly thought of something entertaining he could do with his newfound skills. "Alright, alright. How about this: All you need to do is look wherever I tell you to. It's really simple." "Yeah, okay. Sure!" The mouse instructed them to look up, facing the open ceiling in the academy room, viewing the fluffy skies and the beautiful blue sky. The boys then looked to the left, watching Akina-sense and the Genin help out a group of academy students with their Genjutsu. When he told them to look right, they were staring at a collection of scrolls, diagrams, and other study materials/tools which were mostly unorganized due to the activities of today's class. "Now, look back at me! When they turned to face forward, where Cashew should have been, he wasn't there. "W-wha!?" Both Itsuki and Sato looked around frantically. Was he hiding somewhere? There was no way he could have moved away from them in an instant without them noticing. "Where did he go...?" Sato asked, completely confused. "I'm right here." Cashew replied. The boys heard him, but could not see him. "Where?" "Here." "What...?" The two boys were staring straight at him now, but the mouse could tell that their eyes were focused way past his point of origin. "Now you don't see me... Now you do!" In an instant, the mouse reappeared, whipping his cape around him mysteriously. "Tada!" Itsuki gasped, and Sato stared wide eyed, his jaw nearly hitting the floor. "How... How did you." "The Chameleon Skin Technique. I can teach you both, if you want. Pretty nifty, right?" Cashew chuckled. "Heck yea! I wanna learn how to turn invisible too!"

"Attention class! Please return to your seats. The assignment is over." Akina-sensei spoke loudly, returning to her position to her desk as the Genin assistant left, and the students sat at their desks. "Thank you all for participating so well today! I'm proud of every single one of you. Make sure you all are here on time for tomorrow's lesson. Have a wonderful evening. Class dismissed!"

"Goodbye, Akina-sensei!" The classroom would shout, cheering and giggling as they all rushed out of the classroom, Sato and Cashew included.

"Cashew. Sato. My desk, please." Or not... the two stopped dead in their tracks, turning to their sensei with innocent faces. Itsuki shrugged and continue heading out of the class, "I'll see you guys later! Good luck." The duo approached the desk cautiously, only to be met with an intense gaze from her amber eyes.

Hiroki found somewhere out of the way to start his training. It was essentially a requirement at this point. After all, he had a reputation to protect.

Now, normally Hiroki would have joked about being an Uchiha just for the clan's secret techniques, but he had to admit... there was something worthwhile there. They'd present a nice substitute for ninjutsu given his lack of interest in putting that much study into something he could easily copy. That said, he really didn't need another shuriken manipulation technique, the shield and bit of Katon jutsu was more up his alley.

"I received news that you two, along with another student, were sent to detention after a food fight during lunch time..." She paused, tapping her fingers on the surface of her desk as she awaited a response from her students.

                                            "We're sorry, Akina-sensei."
"We're sorry, Akina-sensei.", the two replied; looking shameful as ever.

"But! I was also notified of a great sense of character from the both of you. One of the students explained to me that the class bully wasn't really nice to either of you. You stood up for each other then, and once more when you were put in detention. I am impressed, and proud of you both."

The duo smiled at each other, then bowed to their teacher.

                                            "Thank you Akin--"
                                            "Thank you Akin--"

"I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY TARDINESS TO MY CLASS FROM HERE ON OUT, NO EXCEPTIONS. YOU ARE TO ARRIVE TO MY CLASS ON TIME, EVERYDAY UNTIL YOU GRADUATE. I HAVE VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF ALL OF MY STUDENTS, AND THAT GOES FOR YOU TOO, MOUSE. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"

Cashew and Sato sunk deep into their own bodies as Akina-sensei unleashed the wrath your common small, petite woman might not be capable of. This sudden flip in personality was not expected from either student, and with Sato having been the good noodle he's always been, this side of his teacher was beyond frightening.

                                            "Y-yes, Akina-sensei!!"
                                            "Y-yes, Akina-sensei!!"

Then like a light switch, she returned to her usual professional demeanor, clearing her throat and adjusting the strands of dark brown hair that happened to come out of place during her outburst. "Now, as punishment for your tardiness, you two will clean up my classroom for me. I want it completely spotless. Understood?" She didn't give them a second to respond, "Move along now. And before you leave, return to my desk to pick up your homework." Her voice this time was far sweeter than before, smiling at the boys as they practically teleported into their cleaning positions, starting with picking up all of the scrolls laying on the ground. Each scroll was picked up and returned to the shelf indicated with a label, which scrolls belonged there. The few Ninjutsu scrolls lying around from independent studies were placed in the upper shelf, divided by each individual element. Next, all of the Genjutsu scrolls on the middle shelf, divided by their types, and also their primary sense. All the labels were large and simply enough for academy students to comprehend, with cute little pictures for each label. The desks which were out of their usual alignment due to the activities that took place during the day. Sato, being the bigger one out of the duo, straightened the desks back into neat rows, while Cashew pushed all of the chairs in. The boy grabbed the broom and dustpan, starting from one corner of the room, making his way to the other three, and slowly made his way down into the center sweeping up dust. The mouse took advantage of his small size to assist, by quickly snatching up bigger pieces of trash and throwing them in the trash can. Once he finished that, Cashew dragged the bag of trash out and placed it into the dumpster, placing a fresh bag in the trash can for the next class day. When the two finished their cleaning duties, they stood at attention in front of Akina's desk, awaiting her approval. She simply glanced around, then held a steady gaze upon the two for a few moments. Akina smiled sweetly, nodding, and approving their work. After handing them their homework assignments, she waved them off. "Remember boys: no more tardies!"

                                            "Yes ma'am!
                                            "Yes ma'am!"

The duo dashed out of the classroom and towards the Academy gates. "Akina-sensei is quite the teacher, eh?" Cashew asked, having to run on all fours to keep up with Sato who was carrying both of their homework assignments. "Y-yea... I've never seen her so strict before. Most of the bad kids rumor how scary she was, but I never believed them until now. She's just always been so nice. So, since we have homework, and I have chores to do at home, we won't be hanging out with Itsuki and the gang later today. You can come to my place... unless you need to go home?" Cashew's ears flattened as he continued to keep pace with his best friend. "Ah... well, I don't exactly have a home here, yet. But I'd be happy to help you get your homework done. We can't have Akina-sensei yelling at us again, y'know." Sato shuddered, "Yea, you got that right. Follow me!" The two left from the Academy gates, headed to Sato's home. [ Exit ]

__Of course it wouldn't be that easy but Nohea was far from giving up. Neither a roar or witty remark fled from her lips, only a look of determination that formed in her eyes. Body disappearing from sight again Nohea reappeared coming into a slide right underneath Belamos's legs. Bright white blade aimed upward to stab into his crotch should he suddenly find himself unprepared. Since it seemed he would only be dodging, her plan shifted into one where she hoped to control where he escaped to and get him into the air.
