As hard as Delia tried, she couldn't remember the dream she'd woken up from only moments ago, but she could have sworn she could feel someone's fingers laced with hers. The warmth still tingled there, though she suspected she'd been sleeping in an awkward position or something. She sat up in the bed, her hair fluffier than usual because she'd fallen asleep with it still damp from her afternoon shower. Her mouth stretched out in a long, silent yawn that was no match for the strange cooing noises Danielle was making in her sleep. Delia glanced at her roommate with a raised eyebrow, wondering if she'd heard correctly.
Just then, her phone buzzed, making her jump slightly in dazed surprise. She looked at the screen and her eyes widened in realization. Without saying a word, she threw off the blankets and made her way over to the dresser, where she changed into fresh clothes for the day. Her heart sunk a little when she peered out from behind the curtains at the fresh layer of fog that lingered outside. It was silver and pretty, but not exactly ideal for a day at the beach. Sighing and throwing on a large hoodie, she tried to be optimistic as usual. The weather being like this meant most people would go to the cinema or stay indoors and watch movies, which left Jac and her alone in the cool moist autumn air. A smile came to her lips as she thought about it and slid on a pair of laceless sneakers.
Kinda slept in. I'll be there in 15 minutes tops. She gave herself extra time to attempt to tame the fluffy mess that was her hair. When she realized the humidity would drive it absolutely bonkers, she settled on braiding it to the side, tucking the ends into the hood of her hoodie, finally satisfied. With that, she was off, leaving her sleep-talking roommate a friendly "good morning" sticky note on the door. io3121 Ahh, alrighty. Hmmm.. do we want puppies later? XD Since they could always sell them for money, no?

Jac was halfway to the college when his phone went off. Reading it, he smirked. He had a feeling she would have slept in a bit. He didn't feel the need to reply. He would wait patiently at the school cafe.
Once there, he picked a table by the window and set his stuff down. The place was pretty empty, only a few other patrons quietly mingling in the far corner. He paid them no mind and went up to order himself a coffee and a sweet pastry for De when she showed up. He sat back down and sipped his coffee. The morning was a cool one, and he liked it, but he was certainly hoping for sun later today. His first time at the beach in years, and the weather looked like it might be against them.

Delia put her hood up when she was met with cool, sticky air. It wasn't freezing, but she was in no mood to have her hair look like more of a chaotic mess than it already was. Sighing softly, she kept her eyes on the ground as she walked, watching when people's feet hit the pavement and made strange marks against the moist ground. She kept this pattern of intrigue up for quite some time as she walked down to the cafe, before she almost walked straight into the class doors without opening them. Rubbing her forehead sheepishly, she pushed open the door and shuffled in. Her eyes scanned the place; it wasn't hard to pick out Jac and as soon as she did she was met with the familiar warmth and giddiness inside of her that wasn't just from the aroma of pastries.
Less clumsy than her entrance had been, Delia made her way over to the table against the window he had chosen. She sat down carefully and flashed him a somewhat sleepy smile, before pulling the hood off her head. "Morning," she greeted, beaming.
io3121 Yes, yes, puppies are good. I'm liking this idea. :3 Hey why is your avi crying? o.o

Jac heard the door open, the little chime giving it away, and turned to watch Delia come to sit across from him. "Good morning sleepy head." He returned teasingly. He took another sip of coffee, then looked outside. "So, assuming the weather stays like this, what did you want to do? We could still do the beach, but I was hoping for some sun. Then again, it could burn off in a few hours and the beach could still be nice." He leaned his head to the side, thinking. Glancing back at her, he noticed her braid. He hadn't seen her hair like that before. "What's this? You going for a Hunger Games style now?" He asked with a laugh, reaching over to tug at the end of her braid.
Marina Elemento A couple ofreasons. Originally it was because I am deathly afraid of earthquakes and there have been 5 decent ones in the last two days im my area. That and just last night, my 10 year old rabbit died. She had been looking weak for the past two weeks so we moved her inside. She had a good long life but I cried a lot.

Delia listened to their options; the same things she'd been thinking about on her way to the cafe. As he spoke, she paused for a moment in thought, watching him think about it just as quizzically as she had. The only good thing about the weather being like this at the beach was that they'd be alone, but she wasn't sure she'd want to say so out loud. After all, it didn't matter to her where they went or what they did.
At his next comment, she sat up a little straighter and her cheeks tinted pink when he tugged her braid. "This is what I do so my hair doesn't turn into a lion's mane," she replied stubbornly, but with a small laugh. On that note, her stomach growled loudly, signifying she hadn't eaten anything yet. Seeing the pastry he'd gotten on the table made her mouth water, and she broke a chunk off of it and stuffed it into her mouth happily, like a little child eating candy. After swallowing, her eyes flicked to the window again, which was brushed with a fresh layer of fog. "It's a shame the sun isn't out, but this does mean the beach will be rather free, if not completely deserted," she said finally with a small shrug of her shoulders.
io3121 Awwww! *hugs* I'm sorry to hear about your rabbit sad And earth quakes must be quite terrifying o.o

Jac had not thought of the fact that a cloudy day meant less people at the beach. That was a plus. At the growling of her stomach, Jac remembered the pastry he had bought and pushed it towards her. "Here, got you a cream cheese danish." He raised the still steaming cup of coffee to his lips and sipped. The bitter, roasted taste and smell seemed to warm him up almost instantly. "So, if we still go to the beach, should we stop by a store first to pick up some snacks or buy lunch at a snack bar?" He figured if the went to the beach, they'd be there long enough to get hungry again. It seemed like a bad move to go to the beach ad not have snacks planned.
Marina Elemento Thanks, Ive gotten a lot of love from friends. She is buried in the back yard now. The earthquakes have stopped for now, so my nerves are calming.

Delia ate away at the danish contently, doing so in a way that was a little less than lady-like, but she didn't really mind. Over the past week, she'd allowed herself to relax a little more, especially when she was around Jac. There was just something about him that put her at ease. At his question, she tilted her head for a moment, pondering the thought. She swallowed the next gooey delicious bite of the pastry to reply. "The snack bars might not be open, plus we could get some better stuff at the store across the road." Her gaze fell to out the window and she sighed, put it came out looking more like a distressed pout. "So much for swimming."

Jac settled his eyes, a soft gray-green in the artificial light, contently on Delia as she consumed the danish with gusto. He had never been one too attracted to delicate ladies, and Delia proved herself less than delicate right here, as well as in all she had done for him the past two weeks. "Grocery shopping it is then." He leaned back in his chair, pushing back against it to stretch his back. He made a face, nose scrunching up and brows coming down as if they were trying to touch each other, while his lips pulled into a half grimace, half smile. his spine popped and he let out a large, tobacco scented breath and slumped back towards the table, satisfied.
When it seemed Delia was nearly done with her danish, Jac drank the last of his coffee and stood, pushing the chair back with his calves. He took his and her trash and tossed it away in the trash bin, then returned and gathered his backpack. "Ready to go?"
Marina Elemento Oooooh boy it is so hard to make a living in California! I'm back again, but dunno for how long. Sorry I keep you on such a roller coaster with this rp. And thanks for staying with it with me despite.

As Delia ate the pastry contently, she occasionally caught his eye and had the urge to grin, or burst out in laughter. Unfortunately, the mouthfuls of sugary food prevented her from doing so. So she ate in most silence, her eyes trailing out the window every now and then, except for when she heard the pop of his spine and her gaze fell on him again. She quirked an eyebrow of amusement and skepticism, though the face he had made caused her to grin regardless of the amount of food in her mouth.
When she swallowed the last bite, she felt as though she had inhaled the thing whole, even though that wasn't the case, but it filled her belly nicely. She watched him as he threw away the trash and return, looking quite prepared for their journey. "Aye aye, captain," she replied with a smile, leading the way out the door. As soon as she was met with the steamy cool air outside, she could practically feel the stray strands of her hair curl in protest and she grimaced. Humidity was never her best friend, but it was better than rain for now she supposed.
io3121 Oh goodness. It's no problem. I love this rp and I love you so I shan't be leaving you anytime soon! ^_^

Jac made for the door after Delia, taking it from her once she exited the cafe and letting it slowly swing closed behind him. The morning was still chilly, the moisture in the air only adding to the cold. He stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets and headed for the exit of the campus.
The beach was a bit of a walk from the college, but the streets in between were fashioned like an old shoppe venue, little hole in the wall restaurants and shops lining both sides of the narrow two way street. In the morning haze the street lights reflected off of the mist, casting green, yellow and red halos around the light posts as they changed. The year-round golden Christmas lights wrapped around the trees lining the sidewalk were off, but one could imagine their magnificence at night.
Across the street from the school, just as Delia had pointed out, there was a small convenience market. They crossed the street and wound through the parking lot to reach the store. It was mostly empty, only a few other customers milled about with carts and baskets in their hand. Jac turned to Delia, "What should we get?" He asked, turning his head to look over to the produce area. His eyes fell on a pyramid, neatly stacked, of plums. "Mmmmhhh..." He liked plums.

Delia didn't enjoy this weather all that much, but the way the street lights glistened against damp pavement reminded her how happy she was. She felt light and warm even, being this close to Jac for so long, nothing to split them apart. It was a nice break from quick hugs or kisses in the hallways and between heaven knows what else they had to tend to. It felt good to take a couple weights off her shoulders for the time being.
Relief washed over her as they entered the market when she noticed it seemed much warmer and pleasant inside. The fluorescent lights were obnoxious, but the smell of food she was met with made up for it. Delia followed his gaze and grinned, ready to pick out anything that looked sweet and delicious. "Plums, huh?" she asked, picking up a basket, as she didn't expect they'd be getting too much from the store. "How about plums and-- oh! Strawberries. Or watermelon." She found herself becoming a little hyper now that she was fully awake, her face visibly lighting up at the sight of such a large selection of fresh fruit.

Jac strolled over to the produce section, hands still in his pockets. He watched Delia as she grew excited over the prospects of strawberries and watermelon, her beautiful smile bright under the florescent lights. He could not help but smile in response. "Why not both?" He asked, going over to the selection of watermelon. They were a bit small, as it was out of season for the sweet melons, but he managed to find one that looked good. He lifted it up in his arm, turning to show off his muscles to Delia in a very dramatic pose, raising the watermelon up and down as though it were a weight.
As he skimmed over the strawberries, he caught a whiff of the bakery and an epiphany struck him. "Hey, you know what goes great with strawberries? Pound cake and chocolate!" He left the selection of strawberries for Delia to pick out and he wandered off towards the bakery area, watermelon cupped in his right arm, pressed up against his hip. He skimmed over the rectangular foil trays of shortbread, some plain, some with raisins and cranberries and some with chocolate chips. Sold. He grabbed the chocolate chip pound cake and returned to Delia, gently setting the bread in her basket. "What else? Refreshments?"

Delia felt like a child in a candy store, which was ironic, because that's pretty much what her whole childhood felt like. She watched with the utmost admiration and amusement as he picked out the best looking watermelon and looked as though he was lifting weights. A giggle spilled from her lips as she watched him, her grin remaining when his face seemed to light up as much as hers. She was glad she wasn't the only one feeling like an excited child, but seeing him this way felt so unnatural to her it was almost comical. And, of course, highly adorable. "Gosh, that sounds like heaven right now," she mumbled to herself, her eyes trailing over the packages of fresh strawberries. The mere smell reminded her of the summer that had just come to an end, and she found herself clutching to the biggest, juiciest looking bunch with a joy that could rival a hyper five-year-old's.
When Jac returned, she was practically beaming. "Right, refreshments... what goes good with all this sweet stuff? Tea?" She wasn't exactly sure what she was craving right now, other than the fresh fruit they'd already got. She'd even piled a container of blueberries in the basket as well, unable to help herself. Her eyes caught hold of the refrigerated beverages that resided beyond the aisle next to them. She weaved her way through with what bit of grace she had whilst practically skipping with glee. There were all sorts of different drinks, from soda to beer and everything in between.

"Hmmm..." What would go good with all this sweet stuff. He thought of milk, but that would not be a wise thing to bring to the beach. It would not stay cold for long, and warm milk just was not as satisfying. "Tea works. I'll grab some water bottles too." he said, leading the way to the drinks aisle. He flicked his eyes around all the different brands of all the different beverages, his eyes landing on a certain blue box of juice pouches. He stooped and pulled the box from the shelf, automatically deciding to get it. Another bit of his childhood stirred as he looked at the Capri Sun box. A trip to the beach never really felt complete without these little pouches of flavored liquid.
He snapped out of his daze before he could allow himself to reminisce, not wanting to ruin his day or Delia's so early. He grabbed a four water bottles from the cooler, then looked at De, wondering what kind of tea she wanted.
