Elkand smiled and hugged her as he looked down " So it seemed." he said " But don't worry I'm right here for you and I don't plan on leaving you any time soon." he said " I'm just glad you snapped out of it. You were starting to worry me, I thought you would never snap out of it." he said and closed his eyes " I'm right here with you Larkanna and I will remain here with you until the day I die." he said.

"It was horrible." Larkanna murmured, her heart still racing as fast as a hawk swooping down for the kill. Looking up, she was glad that he would always be there. It had seemed like no one else would up until she'd befriended her past rival. "Just as I will be here for you." She said, her heart slowly calming down.

Elkand nodded and continued to hold her in silence for a moment until he noticed her heart returned to normal. He sighed " Maybe we should rest for tomorrow Larkanna." he said " Do you think you can manage it?" he asked raising her head up. Elkand was glad to have an ally for life and it was amazing that at any other point in time they would have been enemies and would have tried to kill each other through any means necessary.

Larkanna took a deep breath and nodded, knowing that they would need as much rest as they could possibly manage before they ventured back into the tower for the final half of its terrors. "I think so, or at least I'll try to." Before all of these events that they had gone through together, she had hoped that she would simply be able to live her life in as much solitude as possible. Now that she thought about it, she was glad that after the year was up she would be able to spend the rest of her life with him by her side and vice versa.

Elkand smiled and held her up just as he stood though he had to let her go as he went over to bed " If you feel too tired just let me know." he said " This competition isn't worth losing you." he said and pulled back the cover and crawling under. He closed his eyes and extinguished the bright flame in the lamb by his bed and sighed " Good night dear." he said and tried to drift off into sleep though he found it hard at first he was starting to pull it off.

Larkanna crawled into bed next to him, still feeling the strands of fear embedded within her mind. "I won't let her scare us off. I want to see this through to the end..." She wouldn't be able to get to sleep for a little while, or so she thought. The moment that she closed her eyes, she felt as if she could sleep for a hundred years without even stirring.

Elkand felt her crawl into bed beside him " If you wish but the moment I see any signs you can't go on I'm bailing out and forcing you to come with me." he said facing her and smiling " But I guess we can try and beat the tower tomorrow." he said and once again closed his arm and steadied his breathing as he drifted to sleep green symbols appearing over his body to show he was rejuvenating as he slept like most wizards and witches did.

Larkanna had barely heard his words, but their meaning was plain and simple. She wasn't going to show any weakness or fear tomorrow if it was the last thing she did. Waking up the next morning, she sat up and looked over at Elkand. Pushing some of his hair out of his face. she smiled softly. Smiling a little, she said, "We'd better wake up, so we don't sleep through the whole day."

Elkand slowly opened his eyes and smiled after hearing her words " I suppose your correct." he said " Its a shame however. I was having the most pleasant dream I've had in a long time." he said ' Lets finish this tower today so we can begin without grand plans." he said standing up and opened up the windows blue light flooding in and lighting the entire room and he had to admit it was the sunniest day ever. The sky was blue and the sun was bright supplying much beautiful light.

Larkanna laughed lightly at his comment. "Grand plans? Are they really that bad?" She asked. They still had yet to go out and find the dragon eggs that had been shown to her through a vision. They had great meaning and she didn't want to waste too much time afterwards recuperating. Yes, they would probably rest afterwards, but she had always been the type to set herself many goals and then get them done quickly and efficiently. Going behind a curtain, she changed into a tunic, pair of pants, boots, and a cloak that had been provided for her. When she stepped out, the sunlight glimmered on a brooch holding the cloak around her thin shoulders. It was two crests, a mix of both hers and his. "I didn't think that we'd made one...."(( Sorry, we were performing our play yesterday and the day before, so I wasn't able to get on. crying ))

Elkand looked at her and smiled " Nope." he said " We gotta go find those eggs obviously." he said " They seem to be important so we need to get those eggs." he said " And then when we are done with that we can begin to try and unify wizards and witches before my mother decides to end us." he said and dressing in his normal wizard cloths only this time he was using black cloth. He smiled " We all set?"
 ((Hehe its alright ^^))

Larkanna nodded and held out an exact copy of the brooch that she wore on her cloak, "I don't know where these came from, but I guess if we ever get separated, we can use these like locators." She'd checked its magical properties by a sight changing spell. She hadn't noticed before, but there were plenty of other magical objects throughout the room, and not all of them were friendly. One seemed to be a 'watcher'. Walking over to the mirror, she pretended to be fixing her hair before plunging her hand into the mirror that rippled like water as she grabbed someone by the collar and pulled them through the mirror with her magic.
The boy that had asked her why she, as a witch, she hadn't died yesterday crouched on the floor, cowering in fear. "P-please don't hurt me miss!" He stuttered as he covered his face with his arms. "M-my mistress told me to make sure that you wouldn't try leaving before going to the tower again!"
Larkanna knelt beside him and moved his arms so that she could look him in the eyes, "Who is your mistress?"
"T-the Witch of the Wastes." He said quickly, shuddering. "Please don't tell her that I was caught! She said that she would kill my mama if she found out that I wasn't sneaky enough!"
Pushing red bangs away from her face, she couldn't help but feel shocked as to this turn of events. "How did she get here?"
"She forced her way into my home and killed my papa, who is the only one that can perform the best magic in my house." The young boy's eyes began to stream tears. "She's a horrible witch! She told my mama that I would be able to go back to the wizarding academy if she could use me for an errand."
Larkanna looked up at Elkand, her facial expression serious, "She's gone mad!"

Elkand watched carefuller as she pulled the boy through the mirror. He knew something would be watching but he never expected a little boy. These rooms always had some type of creature in them to make sure no one tried to escape but this was new. He first assumed his mother was trying to set Larkanna up again until he heard
""T-the witch of the wastes."
He snapped to attention and looked at Larkanna and formed "It would seem that way." he said " I honestly recommend we deal with her now before she gets too out of hand." he said "This contest is held every year so we can always leave and come back after years end." he said and at least then their might not be any distractions. He shook his head " The competition isn't that important and its best we deal with immediate problems." he said and looked at her to see if she agreed with him.

Larkanna didn't want to leave the competition, but she would if it meant that there was still a chance that they could rid the world of the Witch of the Wastes and free the poor child and his family. Nodding, she said, "If that is what you want, I guess there's no point in continuing this thing." Turning to the young boy, she asked, "Do you know where she is?"
"She told me to report back to her at the old barn." The child said shakily. "That's where she said she had my mama and my brothers."
"Did she give you any indication as to where that is or will she create a protal there?"
To her astonishment, the child draw a couple of symbols on the floor with a piece of chalk that he had taken from his pocket and a portal appeared. Motioning for them to follow quickly after him, he slowly stood and stepped through the portal. Larkanna shrugged a little and stood, stepping in right after the boy had, using her magic to keep the portal open. "I intend to make this our last encounter with her." Her voice was as grim as her face, which was set in a determined frown.

Elkand nodded " We must help the young boy at least." he said "This competition is unimportant when it comes to helping some in need." he said and sighed "Another year unfinished." he said and shrugged " Lets go." he said grabbing his staff and opening the door to the outside of the tower He walked into the light and appeared outside the silver tower and he waited for his partner to join him so they could deal with this and rest at home since they could no longer enter the tower for the competition.
