Yogtz chuckled. "I guess you're right. It's been years since I've been in moogle school kupo. I will. I'm sure he misses her to. Wait, aren't you two an... Never mind. He told me about... Never mind," yogtz said. If she finds out he told me, I'm not sure what will happen. She's a teenage girl in a relationship. She's about as stable as plutonium, he thought.
Eric smiled to hear this opportunity for his parents. "I'll lady take care of little... Yuki was it? You guys go have fun. I didnt really have plans anyway," He said.
Patricia looked toward them. "that sounds lovely. I'm not sure we can make it though," she said awkwardly. Leopold looked to his wife.
"Come on honey. It'll be fun. We haven't had dinner out with each other in years," he said.
"I guess it's okay then. If Eric can be trusted we can,"
" Why would you doubt me mother?"
"you haven't contacted us for months and then just waltz right back in here without warning,"
"Be that as it may. You never doubted me before,"
"The time you nearly got robbed, the time you got stabbed in the throat, the time that woman corrupted you,"
"Come on mom. Namine didn't corrupt me in any way,"
"We'll talk about this later. Now, I've got dinner to go to," she said grabbing her purse.
"just don't expect me to wear a tux. You know I can't stand those things," leopold said smiling sarcastically.

Yogtz sighed. "How to say this without sounding like a nosy teenage girl. Eric told me about the little 'incident' with you, kirune, and Lawrence. I couldn't believe it myself. You guys seemed so stable,"
"I guess it's to be expected. Those two aren't exactly... Sane. It was really rough on him. He's got this fog of subtle despair around him now. I don't want to blame you, but I can't seem to find any other ways that could've happened other than some sort of heartless hypnosis leading to it," he said. He tried to hide the stress in his voice.

Eric held the baby in his arms. "I will guard him with my life sir," he said to Kiru before he left. Eric smiled with the baby. leopold followed Kiru and lerana out the door. Patricia stood there for a second.
Eric... What happened to you? You're hiding some troubling thoughts or memories. What happened my poor child? You can't solve all problems yourself, Patricia thought. She held back a tear.
"Hey Trish! You awake over there?" leopold said. Patricia snapped out of it and walked out with her husband. Eric rocked the baby when they left.
"It's ok little yuki. Let's find you something to do," he said happily.

Yogtz frowned. "I don't know. I know I shouldn't be involved in your affairs, but it seems to be moogle nature to worry for our friends kupo. Heck, humans probably do the same thing. Whoops, philosophical tangent again. Sorry, I do that sometimes. Anyway, I've inadvertently lowered my mood. I don't think I can help him now. He sure can put on a brave face though," he said.

Leopold shrugged as he held his wife. "To be honest, I haven't been out for fun in a long time. The bills and whatnot have been troublesome," he said.
Patricia lightly punched him in the arm. "I'm an accountant remember? I finished those bills off quickly. You've been to busy fiddling with those practice dummies to do anything silly," she said chuckling.
Leopold chuckled. "What's wrong with wanting a challenge?" he said.
"Apparently, it prevents you from having a social life," she replied.

Eric found an old box of baby toys in a closet. By the time he got out, however, cordinia was reading a book to Yuki.
"So, in order to creat light, you need electricity, a vacuum, container for the light, and a tungsten filament," she said to him.
"Why are you teaching a baby how to make a lightbulb?" Eric said placing a toy by Yuki.
"I'm teaching him things he will need for his life,"
"Yeah, if he becomes an electrician. Seriously coriander, the baby can't understand you now. You shouldn't throw elaborate stuff at him right away. Baby steps,"
"Was that pun intended?" Corinia replied.
Eric shrugged. "I just said what came to mind,"

Yogtz forced himself to smile. "No need to thank me. I'm just some moogle who you associate with. I guess I'm just stressed lately kupo," he said.
Leopold smiled. "It's good to have friends. I'm never was a wallflower," he said. Patricia smiled weakly. She was worried about Eric. Why Eric? What happened to make you so sad and confused inside? I'm your mother. Why can't you confide in me? Can I really trust you with a baby? she thought. Leopold looked into his wife's eyes.
"Whatever is worrying you I assure is fine. They haven't made anything yet that can stop our son. That kid is in safe hands," he whispered to her.

Leopold looked to kiru. "I'm not sure I've ever been here." he said. "It smells really good from here though,"
Eric chuckled when Yuki stuck his tongue. Cordinia looked confused.
"Is he insulting you?"
"Oh come on coriander! Don't you have a maternal bone in your body? I would've thought you of all people knew about newborn behavior,"
"S-shut up! I don't plan on having kids anytime soon so I didn't partake in childhood psychology class," she said.
"excuses excuses"

Leopold walked into the restaurant. He seems stressed. I probably should've come more prepared. I'll keep an eye out, he thought. Patricia had calmed down mostly. Neither had brought a weapon for this occasion.
Eric laughed and picked up the kid. "you seem to like me don't you. Yes you do," he said childishly.
"I swear you have more inner child than an actual child," cordinia said. She had to hold back her smile. I've got to admit. He does look pretty good with that kid. Looks like he'd make a good father. Why am I thinking about that? We are no more aren't we? she thought.

Patricia put a hand on lerana's shoulder. "Don't worry. Eric is a most capable warrior. They haven't made anything yet that can stop a fringe," she chuckled. "Look at me sounding all war like. I've become a brute haven't I?" she said sarcastically.

Eric jumped a little when yuki began crying. He quickly regained his composure.
"ok, I doubt we have any baby food lying around, so I'll have to purée something in the blender. Hey coriander, could you help me out here?"
"So we're a married couple with a child now?"
"I don't have time for sarcasm coriander. Just rock this baby while I go put fruit in a blender," he said handing the baby to her. Cordinia held the baby.
"Now what?"
"just rock him for a bit. I'll be done in about 5 minutes,"
"how can you hear anything over the baby?"
"battlefield experience allows me to tune out some things. That and Lawrence's jokes,"

Patricia smiled. "Even if Eric is unavailable, we still have an army of keybladers to protect us. Albeit I disapprove of child soldiers, it's good to know we have protection," she said.
Eric puréed some pears. The lid nearly flew off the blender. He grabbed the lid just in time. The purée was poured into a bowl. Eric walked over to cordinia and yuki. "here comes the airplane!" he said putting th spoon of purée in front of yuki.
"You watch way to much tv,"
"and I turned out alright didn't I?"
"Tch. I see your wit is still sharp,"
"I haven't changed that much coriander,"
