“Deer herd,” Kanti whispered, her ears pricked forward. She dropped to her belly and slid silently over the snow towards the deer.

"Careful now." Sanoskue said, next to her, "Lets try to seperate one from the group, I don't fancy getting gored by a bucks horns today."

“I know how to hunt Sanoskue,” Kanti chuckled softly. She scented the air again. “There’s one with a bad leg. Spilt up. We’ll charge the herd. It won’t be able to keep up. Easy meal.”

"Agreed, I'll hit them from the north." He said as he moved off.

Kanti nodded and headed toward the herd’s south flank, moving silently…

Sanoskue waited untill Kanti was in position then stalked forward, howled and charged.

Sanoskue’s howl rang in Kanti’s ears as she let out a cry of her own and raced forward. The deer immediately panicked and scattered, dashing through the forest. The one with a bad leg tried to run but couldn’t move nearly as fast.

Sanoskue lunged at the injured deer and took it down swiftly, it's blood staining the snow red, he howled in triumph and sat there panting slightly.

Kanti ran up and looked at her mate and the kill proudly. “Fantastic Sanoskue!” she barked happily. “You okay love?”

"Of course, my jaws hurt a bit from the force I snapped it's neck with, but I'm fine." He said happily.

“Haha, my mighty hunter,” Kanti chuckled, licking his muzzle fondly. “Come on, we’ll drag it back to the den,” she added, grabbing a leg.

Kanti brushed her tail over Sanoskue’s back as she too pulled as the deer, moving it to their den slowly but surely.

When they managed to finaly drag it back to the den Sanoskue ripped off a leg and started eating with a greatful sigh.

Kanti tore off a chunk for herself and settled down to eat next to Sanoskue. She ate quickly and snuggled against Sanoskue with a contented sigh.
