If I truly didn't want to play, don't you think I have better escape methods at paw than a slashing wound that leaves me bedridden, and a bout of some strange disease?

Then she softens her words by adding. "Nevertheless, I do not mean to belittle what has happened to you... or Master Talesian for that matter. I'm quite certain you did not knowingly work to achieve your present state and I know for a fact he is trying in earnest to return to his human form... Our minds and our bodies are funny that way... they are in constant interaction, even when we do not think they are."
