*Kero's dark blue gaze turns to steel grey...causing all the dragons to back up a step*
Then all of you explain to your people that this is the best way to save the largest number of hatchlings....unless you want me to kill all those beyond a certain point...the cry of the night will do that...and restore those who aren't...but wouldn't you rather we saved as many as possible?

An ancient dragon with skin that resembles liquid metal, steps forward. "It is to our advantage to listen, though I'm afraid most of us find it difficult to rely on another to do that which we cannot do ourselves. Is there anything we can do to aid you, sir mage?"

*Kero shakes his head*
Honestly, and to be quite rude about it...the best thing you can all do at this point is to stay out of my way and my Void...do not, no matter how much you want to, come through and see your children...I need time to heal them...and we will still have a war to fight...

"Is there anyway to protect us from this... this parasite." asks another dragon, this one far smaller than most of the dragons there.
Paladine flashes Kerobian a tight smile. "I had to tell them what they were up against to keep them in one place. But my knowledge of this is second hand. Perhaps if you tell them what we are facing here."

Not that I know of...only souless, or soul-warding creatures seem immune to it...it flees from me, so I'm safe, methinks...but I don't know about defenses...I'll study those I can extract, see what I can find out...

"Well, I do hope Tamara doesn't mind us eating her out of house and home..." grumbles a well endowed bronze female. "And we've enough on our hands keeping the infighting to a minimum, so have at it, mage. I gather you want us to stay here, to keep E'li's dear sister distracted."

*Kero nods*
Yes...you acting as decoys is a part of my plan...and forgive my crassness, madam...but I don't give a piece of DNA from a hair on a rat's bum what Tamara thinks right now...

Her eyes widen and murmurs once again encircle the council. Paladine steps forward and claims their attention.
"Tamara will be indisposed for a time, I'm afraid. She has overstep her station and attracted the enmity of a rather powerful foe. And I fear he has good reason to wish her harm. In the meantime, I will oversee the doings of our forces. If anyone wishes to oppose my leadership, they are welcomed to try." His eyes gleam with authority.

*Kero nods his thanks to Paladine, excusing himself from the meeting to go and rally his own troops, preparing them for the sting strike...as he works, he crafts his simulacra, placing his special cloak on each of them...making each one different in some subtle way...and each one bespelled to harm any who seek to break through, walk through, or take them down...Kero is through playing nice...and through with playing by the book*

Meanwhile, back in Alysian's realm, the palace is in an uproar. Lyssan has appeared, wracked with grief, barely able to talk in a comprehensible manner. Amestru is with her and bearing his grief in an entirely different manner. He is sharpening a sword, repeatedly. Both are out for blood. While Keva is beside himself, frantic to get moving, wondering why the two of them are stalling in exacting revenge. All have felt the backlash of Shia's passage.
"I'll kill him... I'll tear out his eyes... I left my baby in his keeping..." Lyssan shreiks to the moon.

*Kero, meanwhile, is working, coordinating the attack...which is going off smoothly....90% of the dragonlings have been neutralized and rescued, and Takhisis's forces are focusing on the cloaked simulacra, trying to find which is the real one...the instant the last dragonling is rescued, Kero nods, explodes the remaining shields, and has all his simulacra run off, as if defeated*

Rhea soon finds herself confronted by an grieving kitsune and her family.
"Where is he... tell me, Rhea... what has he done with my child..." demand Lyssan in an icy cold voice.

*Rhea remains silent*
What my master does is his business, Alyssian...and I would advise you to calm yourself before you seek him out...remember whose realm you are in, Kitsune Queen.

Lyssan whirls on her and stares in outright belief. "Calm myself... where's my daughter... you tell me... She's dead... that's what... she's gone... never will I see her face again... never will I hear her voice... He promised to take care of her... said he'd protect her... Rhea... I thought you were her friend!"

*Lyssan finds herself shoved away by a wall of pure force, as do Amestru and Keva...Rhea's air of calm is gone, replaced by rage, both at Tamara, and at Lyssan's accusations*
I was...which is why I allowed Kero to bind himself, promising to let her choose her time of passage...she knew her destiny...it's the curse of a sight-mage...she knew when and how she would die...and I assure you, my master's grief equals, or maybe even surpasses yours...or have you forgotten that Voidmages love completely, with their entire being...Kero was so upset at her death that he attacked Tamara herself, and named her oathbreaker! Does that tell you how my master is taking this?
