The tip of Cecilia's tongue wanted to tell Nik to go away, but she had yet resorted to pushing people away and she didn't want to start now. Yes, her love life may have gone down the drain, with a boyfriend who didn't want anything to do with her, who couldn't even look her in the eyes let alone be in the same room with her. She walked over towards the edge of the pool and stared down at Nik who seemed to be lounging. With another gravitational pulsation, she summoned a lounge chair, which found her rear end just as she was completing her sitting position. Did Cecilia want to talk to this man who she had known for awhile, but never really had a conversation with? The answer? No...not really. But speak to him Cecilia did. Why did she do it? Perhaps the negative emotions she had been feeling since arriving in Vegas, all the anger, sadness, feelings of being betrayed all poured forth.
"Try a billion and one things," she said watching her feet as she wiggled her damp toes. Goosebumps had formed on her arms from the cold temperature in the indoor pool. The pool may have been heated, but that did not take away the chill that one felt when stepping out. The young Sapphire Herald hesitated for a moment...perhaps two moments wondering if she should tell this person who seemed genuinely concerned. She just prayed to God that she did not burst into tears. The last thing she needed was to make a fool of herself.
"I guess I just don't know what to do about Roulin and myself anymore. I love the guy to death. More than that, I'm in love with him. But ever since we parted ways back in Rome a few months ago...he hasn't wanted anything to do with me. I guess you can say part of me feels like he used me, another part of me feels like maybe he doesn't have the balls to even look at me let alone be in the same room at me, then there's a small part of me that feels like he might've found someone else and that's why he's avoiding me." She shook her head and let out a small dry laugh. "I can't believe I'm talking about this," she said looking away. A heavy lump began to build in her throat. She could feel her eyes burning. Don't you dare start crying, you idiot, she chastised herself in thought. "Don't you dare shed any tears!

The smile on Nik's face faded a little, but was still there while Cecilia spoke. He understood how hard it was to talk to people about problems in one's life. Nodding lightly, Nik replied honestly, "Sounds rough. I can understand why that'd be a problem." Nik pondered what to say next for a short while, lightly kicking his feetin in the water before replying, "Well, this is just my personal opinion, but I wouldn't let the guy off so easy. if he's your boyfriend you gotta make sure he knows that he's yours. While I was in the circus I knew a trapeze artist named Natasha, her boyfriend was her partner. Now this pair, they were the best at this, and they performed their act without a net. So if they fell, it was all over. It takes a lot of trust to put your life in the hands of someone else every night like that, but they did it. One night, Natasha caught her boyfriend with another woman, she beat the guy to a pulp. She made damn sure that he knew that he was her's and her's only. They switched up the act, so instead of her flipping a hundred feet in the air waiting for him to catch her, he was the one doing the flips. He never cheated on her again I'll tell you that much."
Nik's rather lengthy tangent ended and he sighed, remembering the good old days for a moment before continuing, "You gotta make sure that he knows there'll be hell to pay if he doesn't give you the attention and care you deserve. and if he doesn't give it to you, do what Natasha would have; drop him." Nik stopped kicking his feet in the water and slid backwards, slowly getting to his feet on the cold floor he stretched lightly and said, "I'll tell you what. why don't I take you to dinner? You look like you could use some cheering up, going out to eat is always a decent way to do that. Just as friends, what do you say? Besides, you still owe me that ice cream." Nik chuckled lightly and extended a hand to the lounging cosmic owl, offering to help her up. He hoped she'd accept, it wasn't like it was a date, and she really looked like she could use a distraction from her thoughts.

Aiden was sipping on a bottle and Amara had just finished her room ordered meal. She decided the last few days she would spend bonding with her child, she didn't know when she would get an opportunity like this again. The psion, then went to the bathroom, washing up before returning to check on her song. "Oh you are so handsome...yes you are...you're going to grow up and be just like your mommy...except you'll be a much better person" she said giving him raspberry kisses on his tummy. Amara knew she was a strong person...but she wasn't proud of how she turned out...murdering people...unstable...so she would make sure that Aiden would take on her good qualities and all of her bad...well...they would stay with her. Picking up the baby, she then remembered she hadn't spoken to Demios in a while...perhaps she could talk to him about a few things...reminisce or whatever. Walking out of her room, the door locking behind her, she went off to find her friend.
Finally coming across the witch outside, Amara listened to the song he was playing. Aiden was playing with Amara's face but she ignored it. "When did you learn how to play the violin Demi?" she asked out of curiosity. The blonde psion made her way to her former colleague, taking a seat near him and looking at the starry sky above. "Is everything alright with you Demios? You've been really distant lately" she stated...it was unlike for the magic user to be that distant...was everything okay with him and Genya...or was he getting cold feet? She could understand the cold feet situation. Whatever the situation was, she would stay here and talk with him, who knew if the two of them would even make it out alive during the 'final battle'.
Aiden began to bounce in Amara's lap as he listened to the music, and observed the beauty of the night...even though they were in a desert...there was beauty to be seen. The infant perhaps could see something that both Amara and Demios couldn't see but none the less it made the young lad smile. Amara nuzzled her son's nose, showing him as much affection as she could...besides...she hadn't heard from Lucien since the incident happened....they would need to talk....and soon.

Cecilia listened, with some bemusement as Nik related her love problems to a different couple he had known while he had been with the circus. Yet, unlike this Natasha, Cecilia knew she would never be able to drop Roulin so easily. She had fallen in love with him. And when she fell for someone, she was the kind of person who fell very hard. Did this mean that Cecilia was doomed to an eternity of heartbreak? The fates were laughing in her face. They had seen the happiness she had felt while she was with Roulin, the only happiness she had felt in a long time and had snatched it away from her. They had sank their long fingernails into the amethyst eyed Life Owl, keeping the two of them apart.
Cecilia was very much lost in her thoughts that she almost didn't hear what Nik had offered. Given her body language, it was very clear that she was unsure about what the ex-Circus performer had offered. Even though he had said that it wasn't a date, going to dinner at a nice restaurant did feel like such to her. But what else was there to do? She could go back up to her room like she usually did, do some more sewing, then go to bed. But maybe the newly appointed Herald didn't want to be alone this evening. Provided that did not mean she would invite Nik back to her room afterwards for a late night rendevue, but maybe having a friend to talk to while enjoying a nice meal could help Cecilia clear her mind.
"Fine...but on one condition. You have to allow me to pay for half the meal. Now...with that being said, I guess I should head back to my room, shower and change. I'll meet you near the casino in a little bit. I shouldn't be too long." With those words, she allowed him to help her up. He had offered and she wasn't rude as to refuse. The Cosmic Owl opened a wormhole, one could feel its gravitational force pulling them towards it. She lightly stepped through it and as she did so, it closed up. Another wormhole opened again, this time in Cecilia's room, which the Cosmic Owl stepped out of. Running her fingers through her hair, she went into the bathroom and began her routine on getting ready for something other than the casino.

Nikolai was glad that Cecilia had accepted his offer, he smiled and helped her to her feet, nodding once and saying, "Alright, see you in a few." Once she had left through the wormhole she created, Nik yawned lightly and sank into his shadow, which then skittered across the floor and back up to his and Anya's room. Rising out of the puddle of shadow on the floor, Nik didn't see Anya anywhere. He was going to tell her where he was going, but she must have gone out or something. He simply shrugged it off and started to get ready. He showered quickly and changed into his freshly dry cleaned suit. put his sunglasses on and straightened his tie. Looking in the mirror Nik smiled and said, "Silk suit, black tie, I don't need a reason why." Chuckling lightly, Nik grabbed his headphones and slipped them around his neck, removing the ear buds and placing them on the nightstand next to the bed. He spun around and headed for the door. Flipping the light switch off, he headed down towards the casino. Cecilia hadn't said where exactly, only "near the casino" he figured just outside of it would be a good guess. Nik stood to the side of the casino entrance, scanning the room for the blue skinned cosmic owl.

The borderline hot water from the shower was quite the contrast from the cool water of the pool. Once she stepped out after a good ten or so minutes, her body no longer smelled of hints of chlorine and her hair would make those women on the L'Oreal commercials green with envy. Cecilia worked rather quickly to blowdry her hair and pull it back into a rather elegant french twist, her bangs sideswept and very slightly curled at the ends. Even though this wasn't a date, there was no reason why she could not look her best. Make-up she would not need, even a small dab of lipstick was neglected. Her natural beauty was therefore unaccented by the face-paint that many women caked on. The dress she donned was one of her own creations. The material had been rather expensive that much was for sure.
The dress was a little on the short side, but it was still a modest white lace number that would have been transparent if it hadn't been for the brown underdress, which she had sewn underneath. The sleeves fell to her elbows in three quarter style and flared out at the ends in soft lacy patterns. Around the waist a leapord print belt was fastened. The belt, she had bought from a thrift store and had restored to its former beauty. She pierced her ears with a pair of simple gold hoop earrings, around her neck was a clustered necklace, and on her right wrist was an assortment of three bangles. Last, but not least, she strapped a pair of darker brown heeled sandals.
After checking herself over in the mirror to make sure that she didn't have something stuck in her teeth or a stain on her dress, she entered through the wormhole once again. While this may have not been a date, it would have been embarrassing to travel in public with something quite noticeable on her dress or in her teeth. Emerging just outside the casino via wormhole, she scanned the crowd for Nik. It was easy to spot him in his silk suit. Only Nik would wear something with such a manner. She walked up to him. "Sorry I took so long," she said. Why was she apologizing to him? She didn't know. It wasn't like they had set a time-limit.

Nik smiled when he heard the familiar sound of a wormhole being opened. He spotted Cecilia about the same time she found him, though he didn't walk over to her. He shook his head and replied, "I only just got here myself, no worries." He smiled at the cosmic owl and said, "Nice dress, it suits you. So, the restaurant they have here has really good food, I've been there a few times with Anya, I say we head there." Nik left it up to Cecilia where they went, since it was him taking her out, she may as well pick somewhere she wanted to go instead of him just picking everything. He didn't know enough about Cecilia to accurately gauge where she would want to go, so all he could do was make a suggestion really. In the back of his mind, Nik hoped they didn't run into Anya, since to an outside observer it could have looked like they were on a date. After all, taking someone to dinner wasn't just some casual thing you did when the restaurants were as expensive as they were in Vegas.

Because Cecilia didn't know of the restaurants in Las Vegas, she was quick to agree on what Nik had suggested. She knew that any restaurant that they went to would burn a sizeable hole in their pockets. Of course, since they were splitting the bill, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad on both their parts. There was that small worry of running into Anya. Even though there were not even the remotest of romantic feelings for Nik...having dinner at a five star restaurant, the trendy clothing, the nice hair. To an onlooker, everything about this screamed "date". Anya also wasn't the type of person to listen to reason. She was the epiphany of someone who jumped to conclusions often, but the Gravity Herald did not mention that to Nik lest she anger him by unwillingly insulting his girlfriend.
"Well, given the fact that just about every decent restaurant in Vegas will burn massive holes in both our money pockets, I suppose it doesn't matter where we go, so I say...yes to the place that you suggested." Cecilia said graciously. She was beginning to become grateful towards Nik. She would need to find some way to repay him someday. She didn't know how that would be, but she was sure that she could think of something. After all, he had saved her from what would have been a night of eating junk food and watching old sappy chick flicks. "Since you know where this restaurant is, why don't you lead the way?" she offered. Yes, eyes had wandered towards her, eyes belonging to the many patrons who frequented this casino and hotel. But did that faze Cecilia? Well, given the fact that she didn't look at them, no it didn't. While she looked like one of Willie Wonka's experiments gone wrong, the fact that she was constantly gawked at like some strange exhibit at a zoo did nothing to dampen Cecilia's mood, or at least anymore than it already was.

Nikolai shrugged and replied, "Alright then, sounds like some semblance of a plan." The tall dancing owl thought for a moment, thinking of the best way to get to the restaurant from where they were. It wasn't far or anything, but it would be easier to get there if they avoided the crowds of people. After a few moments, he nodded and said, "Okay, follow me." Smiling, he led Cecilia to the restaurant, which wasn't far from where they were; it was across the lobby of the casino area and through the large set of double doors, past a smaller lobby area dimly lit with crystal chandeliers. The restaurant was past a second set of double doors, and a velvet rope waiting line. Luckily it didn't appear at all busy, which meant that they would be seated quickly. After they were seated at one of the booths, Nik glanced at the menu and said, "So what're you going to get? Anything they have that's Italian is good, the french stuff... not so much." Nik smiled as he leafed through the menu, deciding what he wanted to eat. He didn't really care about the price, since he had plenty of money, but Cecilia was paying for half as well. They hadn't specified whether it meant paying for half the cost total or just her half of what they ordered. When thee waiter offered them drinks, Nik simply went with water, he didn't like drinking very much, he was someone who reacted badly to alcohol, and got very depressed the more he drank. He wasn't a lightweight, he could handle his drinking, he just didn't like the effects the alcohol had on him.

Cecilia allowed the dancer to lead her to the unknown restaurant. She thanked the heavens that he wasn't dancing around her for if he was, she might have had to pull a leaf out of Anya's book and smack him one. While Cecilia wasn't bigoted towards dancing, this just wasn't the time where she was in the mood for such silly antics. The restaurant itself had a certain feel that was a mixture between an Italian and French style indicating that these were the branches of food they served. Cecilia was partial to Italian food. She had never partaken in a French meal. Despite the fact that Nik had given his opinion on the French cuisine, she could not agree nor disagree with him.
The line was not very long and they had not been required to make reservations beforehand. The two Owls were led to a fine table. Cecilia sat across from Nik, keeping herself at the outer edge of the booth just in case she had to dash off quick to the restroom. This would prevent her from having to slide out for sliding in a dress could sometimes cause a slight bit of discomfort. The waiter took down their orders for drinks. Given the underlying depression that Cecilia was feeling, any form of alcohol would be a bad idea for her. Instead, she ordered an iced tea with a small dash of lemon sweetened with a small bit of sugar. Once the waiter had gone, Cecilia turned to Nik. While they were out only to cheer her up, there was no reason why she couldn't ask him a few questions about how her companion had been doing as she hadn't really spoken to him. "So how are you and Anya doing?" she asked with minor curiosity as she took a breadstick from the basket that had been left on the table from them.

"I may as well indulge in the adventure then, right? I will until I get bored." Roulin followed behind the nameless girl as the exited the casino into the crisp and cool night air of Las Vegas after deciding to humor her for a while. Chillingly, it nipped at the tip of his nose and his lips. Looking around for any sign of a swanky hotel or restaurant, the Life Owl's eyes which at first stared tired into the neon lights of adjacent building's were now, for his standards, wide. Rather than voice the slight discomfort, he bared it. At any point, he could teleport away leaving this woman to her evening, but if she was going to pay for free food, what would he gain in the end?
When the two entered the hotel, Roulin's hands left his pockets instantly and he flexed them causing his knuckles to crack like cubes in a twisting ice tray. Still, he kept silent as the girl, who's name was revealed to be Acelyn, spoke in another dialect to a rather portly chef. Toying with the collar of his black turtleneck sweater, the lavender eyed young Owl simple looked around while the girl conducted business. After she was finished, he returned his attention to her gracing her with a half smirk. "Acelyn. Well Acelyn, I suppose you're right. My name is Milo." Roulin said, his face straighter than a beam as he lied. "I really hope you don't mind me calling you Ace, Ace." Following her lead again, Roulin took to the elevators behind her, entered and faced the door as they shut. "I'm assuming you know the chef?"

It was hard to pay attention to the real world when one was so lost in their mind. It was because of that Demios didn't notice Amara until she spoke to him. He turned to her as he continued to play his gaze not as harsh as it had been for such a long time. At this moment his dark eyes held a more defeated look, but at the same time sympathetic perhaps a feeling of losing grip with the world that seemed all too painful to hang onto. As he struck the final note a large mass of butterflies flew by one landing near Aiden briefly before moving on. Demios changed his song to a lighter and softer song. "Its a skill I picked up on my journeys, music relaxes me....sort of taming the world around me, and the beast inside me" He said in a relaxed and distant tone finally deciding to speak to her. He gave only the slightest hint of a smile to her "I guess I've had a lot on my mind recently" he said as he continued playing. He turned away from her for a moment "Can you feel it? the world seems so still, like its waiting for something before releasing the storm" He said. He turned to her and her child "I usually feel so confident in our ability to succeed, but even my magic feels so far away, like it has turned from me" he said his voice almost sounding like it was ready to break at any moment.
He stopped playing for a moment "Here we stand at the crossroads standing before destruction and paradise...the phoenix and the raven...one who holds the gift of light and hope, the other of darkness and silence...one who has a world to live for, the other who has lost the world in which they live" he said quietly almost like he had herd it a million times. "We may have lost the heralds we once were, but you can still feel it too can't you...the shards of who they were, the reason why they chose us" he said. He placed the violin away before standing and looking at her again. "Perhaps thats why we are so unstable...so broken,,,or maybe it is the other way around, they picked us because they felt our pain..." He said a bit distantly. He gave her a sad look "I'm scared Amara...what if we lose...or even if we win, what if we can't handle it...what if we snap, we could cause that happy world to shatter, you have a world to lose...a lover...a child...a family...friends...but I don't, I can feel it...the fear of losing myself to it...what if I get lost in a darkness I can never escape.." he said his voice breaking a few times. He shook his head taking a moment to compose himself. He touched Aidens forehead and gave a slight smile. It was then a butterfly landed on his hand "We've been fighting for so long, its hard to imagine a world that is free of all of this." He then moved his hand and looked at Amara "I wish I could be as strong as you Amara, you've seen hell and back and still you can create happiness around you" He said as he turned away again almost seeming scared of being close to them.

((Serena))
Serena was currently wrapped in a warm dressing gown outside on the balcony trying to find the cause of such chaotic noise and shouting. Perhaps Sebastian had come back to Japan and annoyed Myra. Poor woman, it was any wonder she could even put up with that creepy tall butler. Sighing and pulling the dressing gown around herself more tightly, Serena stepped back into the bedroom to be greeted with a Willamon waltzing into the room. “Good morning, Will.” It was hardly morning; Serena had just gotten up and had yet to look at the time. Well, it didn’t matter to her, it wasn’t as if she had anything to do or any places she had to be on this day. Nope, it was going to be the same as the last day. Finding things to do, lazing around, eating delicious cookies, and plain outright relaxing.
The Vanishing Owl sighed at Wills words and merely shrugged them off with an all to innocent smile “If it really matters to you whether I eat too many cookies or not, I shall simply withhold from eating them in the future” She glanced to the food in Will’s hand before returning her attention back to the Satan Owl. “Isn’t that a bit too much for breakfast?” She queried while raising a delicate eyebrow which soon furrowed in annoyance. “And you smell of smoke~” Not that she cared for the Satan Owls habits, she was just more aware of the smell and feeling slightly irritable after a nights sleep, so she simply felt the need to point out all the bad points. She placed a light kiss on his cheek before turning around and heading towards the bathroom to get washed and dressed. She couldn’t lounge around in her nightclothes all day after all.
((NPC----Freya Saxton))
Freya skidded round a corner and ran even faster when she heard Myra’s shout of ‘Taiiiiiiiiii!!’ The young brunette child was nearly home free, only a few more feet to cover before she was safe in her room….and then she was cut off by a charging Cerberus and a tabby ginger cat. “WHA----?!” She skidded and ended up crashing into a wooden cabinet that was currently housing some delicate (and expensive!) looking china dolls. “Oh….no…” The wooden cabinet creaked and groaned as it tilted forwards, the dolls moved with the cabinet before toppling from their seats and falling towards the deadly ground.
Quickly, Freya manipulated some rose seeds into growing and then controlled them to catch the dolls, saving them from their fated doom before righting the cabinet. “Too….too close…” The young girl said as she sank to her knees in relief. And then the tabby cat ran straight past her with Cerberus following close behind….This caused her to lose concentration and that led to all the dolls being dropped by the rose bushes…and shattering. Freya’s face fell into a frown as she stared in disbelief at the mess. Meanwhile, Cerbs and his friend had already ran off….

((NPC - Myra))
But Tai didn't come immediately and of course, the Tai guy would know not always to respond, especially when Myra was hopping mad and liable to claw people out with her claws. Maybe that's why she was named a kitty as opposed to a parrot raven Sebastian and a bunny Serena or a lapdog Daryle or a quail Tai... Somewhere in the mansion close enough that Myra could hear the crashes and shattering, Freya happened. More crashing. More ornaments. More china. More....people were going to die. They were ruining Will's place. Was that stupid butler back then? He was sure taking his time.
The golden haired woman stormed off toward Sebastian's office. On the way over, she passed the new crash scene with the china dolls. Her eye brow twitched. "..." Servants...or Tai...or that ...GIRL.... Freya was sitting in the middle of the mess. "You did this...bad girl, Freya. Do stop playing with the ornaments." Her eyebrow twitched again. When that damn butler got back, he was going to hear it from her, and he knew he would. Myra, the "Graceful", was not being quite graceful, but at least she was keeping her temper right now. No, she would not let that lapdog's daughter annoy her.
((Will))
"Morning, dear." He smirked. What he had brought was really brunch. It wasn't quite as heavy as lunch, but it was extra healthy. If people had notions that healthy food always tasted like crap, they would never believe the sort of food that Will had access to. Healthy food that tasted "heavenly" or food that was too good to not be a sin. This set of healthy food contained no cookies, but Serena already had cookies! Those darn cookies kept turning up no matter how many Will got rid of. "A bit much? You don't have to finish it all." He smiled and then shrugged as Serena accused him of smelling of smoke. He watched as she went off to get washed and dressed.
The Satan Owl set the tray down on a table and opened the curtains of the room to let the sunlight flood the room, making it all the brighter and warmer. He opened the wooden Japanese style sliding doors and stepped onto the balcony. Twas a beautiful day, and he could see a certain four eyed Thorinagano staring out a window in the general direction of Will's home. Curious, hmm? He'll be coming over soon I'm sure.... Yes, the Satan Owl thought this even as the smoke smell dissipated from him with some pops thanks to the bane of the Satan Owl's destroyer ability. Those darn popping sounds...

Laughing, the girl closed the elevator behind the man who called himself Milo, but she knew better. "Did you know when someone lies, their iron levels actually increase for a second before dying back down. Anyone who is like me could tell, Milo, since I don't know your real name. I'll humor you for a while." She clicked the top floor button, only know for the executive rooms that almost looked like penthouses. "To answer your question, yes I know the chef. When I revisited Italy, a self finding expedition, I found a nice restaurant. I ordered everything off the menu, being as food savvy as I am. The chef became friends with me and soon after moved here to get a bigger pay check as the head chef."
Acelyn leaned forward on the bar to the clear elevator wall, watching as the lights from the outside world went speeding down as they went up. "No you may not call me Ace. That is a part of my past I want to keep behind me." Her grip tightened on the bar as she talked, the memories of her traumatic accident flooding back rapidly, making her calm demeanor very hard to keep. Once the elevator stopped, Acelyn let go of the bar and walked out to a couple of doors on the right. Opening it and walking in, she showed that money wasn't a problem and didn't mind making her stay as comfortable as she could.
