"Oh... really? Do you have a touch of weather working ability? This has Mica kind of worried." says Shar with obvious relief.

"Snore..." echoes Sharmistra in confusion. Then she looks at Tam and Kero and a bulb seems to go on behind her eyes. She looks helplessly at Hopian and lifts a graceful hand to her mouth, but the giggles pour forth anyway. "Sorry..." she stammers and runs to her office, where the sound of her laughter echoes merrily.

Tam cracks an eye and chuckles. "Oh yes it is..." then pretends to fall back to sleep.

Sharmistra looks up with a frown. "Are you injured?" she demands testily. "Incapacitated? Handicapped, perhaps?"

Follow me then..." says Sharmistra sharply, but not without understanding.

She leads the lioness into the clinic proper and points to the bed closest to the fire. In it lies Tam curled about Kerobian.

"Normally I would not have summoned him, knowing you had need of him, m'lady. But several days ago, Kerobian fell some considerable distance onto a broken sliver of an old blade which had worked itself up through the soil in a farmer's field. Master Talesian was unable to tend to him as he had taken on the form of a lion to speak with your cub, so he brought him to me, not knowing how severe the injury was.

"One of your own kind actually refused to treat Kerobian, saying it was a waste of time, which after learning of the cub's and your mate's connection would have left you quite distraught, I believe. The cub lost a great deal of blood and Hopian agreed to allow us to use his for a transfusion. Insisted upon it, as matter of fact. And that should have been that, except Talesian was attacked, perhaps for his skin... he did not illuminate on the details over much, but his pelt is quite rare and no doubt worth a great deal. He survived the attack but how, I do not know. He took a blow to the head which should have killed him. Even so... we had sent your mate home and home I would have left him, except poor Kerobian must be plagued with the worse luck imaginable. His appendix needed to be seen to, only I've never dealt with your race before tending to him. Removing a foreign object, such as the blade shard is a trivial matter when it comes to removing a portion of another's anatomy. Therefore I sought his aid and advice. I would have sent him home immediately, but two days straight with little or no sleep would have done no one good. So he watched over the two through the night."

She looks the lioness in the eye. "You may be tired. Parenting one so young is a wearying task, but it is not life threatening. There are many races in which the task falls solely on the mother's shoulders. My job is to save lives. And I cannot do so if I'm falling asleep on my feet. Your mate's help was invaluable to me. But as he is now rested and home... why not take some time for yourself." Shar points to the bed, recently vacated by Hopian and smiles kindly at her. "Take a nap... before you fall flat on your face, yourself."

Sharmistra sighs. "It sounded like a gem name... I think. And Tam said she was one... pardon my language... but he called her a 'frigid b****h'... I don't think he likes her at all. Your mate just nodded in agreement."

Shar flashes her a tired smile. "She wasn't far from wrong though. Had I not my Lord's help, I wouldn't have been able to help him either. And had your mate not offered his blood... " she sighs and shakes her head.

"Mine would have worked..." comes a rumble from the bed. The great white winged lion opens it's eyes and nods to them both. It removes the headphones and tosses them off to one side. "My blood contains the very essence of life... or so I've been told. Hello, Fortuny. What brings you here. Hope's taken off, I'm afraid."

Tam chuckles softly and sits up carefully, so as not to wake the cub, whom she can clearly see as being all bandaged up now. In fact there is so much white guaze on the poor ittle thing he's barely black anymore.

He yawns and winces. "Ow... well, your potion did help me sleep, Shar... but it's still rather tender."

"And probably will for a few more days, I'm afraid. Under a that fur you are going to have one heck of a bruise. How's the headache?" she responds with a nod.

He shrugs and says it's still there but not nearly as bad as it had been.
